I just went for longer walks. I was not allowed in the pool for 8 weeks. Walking is safe. After that you need to talk to your clinic. I got in trouble from the clinic when I went for my check up and they asked how I was feeling and I said great i clean my oven. They were not happy and told me I need to rest more. I could not even get permission to go back to wor****il 8 weeks were up. We are all different

I was told walking was the best thing for me to do until the 6-week mar****il I was cleared for more strenuous exercise, walking was pretty much it.

Walking is the perfect exercise at 1 month post-op! Walk as much as you are comfortable. If it feels good, you can try increasing your pace and pumping your arms a bit more but always remember to listen to your body.

I started getting more active at about 6-7 weeks out. Once you're a little further out and still feeling good, you can incorporate different types of activity. I think it's a good idea to start with lower-impact activity and build up from there. Swimming/aqua aerobics are good choices. I started using low-impact aerobics DVDs at home.
