newbie on this forum, thanks to gals in NY forum
Took a few clicks to find this off, even after being told it exsisted. First a little about me, married 42 yrs. this nov., been overweight since teenager, but not to this degree. What I wouldn't do to be the overweight "150lb" again. I'm only 5ft 2in., so every thing shows. Got married fresh out of HS, still married to the same great man. Gained weight with every pregnancy, and never lost all of it, so after 5 kids, tada........Went on many diets, lost alot of weight, the yoyo thing, kept active, espcaially with young kids, but I sampled all that I cooked and never wanting food to go to waste, usually cleaned the plates of the kids. And loved to bake, cookies, cakes, etc. Never ate alot really, just all the time. I have learned I was a grazer. OK, so now I am 60, ready to go on with rest of my life and kick up my heels. YEY, right. Now at 275, and arthritis,
I wasn't ready for this type of surgery. I knew about it, my sister in law had the surgery, twice. 1st a VGB, lost all and regained it all, had a revision to a RNY, lost it all again and regained it all again. But in recent years, I have learned it was mostly her fault for that happening, and of course the docs for not having a complete nutrition program and followups.
So here I am, more prepared, only finding a Dr. is proving a bit more difficult. So after almost 3 years, I am starting again with a different group. But at least I have learned alot from all of the nutrition sessions I have been to.
First appt. with Dr. Fitzer in Utica, NY is next month

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
