Newbie Intro
We have 4 grown daughters, 2 his and 2 mine. (We've just celebrated our 19th anniversary). Both of my daughters are married. One lives in Louisiana and the other in Florida, so we're finally within driving distance of the grandsons (ages 4 and 8, both in Florida). We also have a 10 month old Maltese puppy who rules the household.
I'm an RN but haven't worked in that field for a year or so. Right now I'm writing a novel, which has been my dream for a long time.
I'm thrilled to be having surgery so soon. My first appt with my surgeon was just a month ago, and my insurance company (Tricare) approved it right away. The referral process took 5 months, though (some glitch in my PCP's office), and then I had to reschedule the surgeon's appointment twice because of conflicts, so it's been an eight-month process altogether. I guess that gave me plenty of time to make sure that I was happy with my decision to have surgery.
Thanks for listening,
Marcy

Hi Marcy!
Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! That was fast from first surgeon visit to surgery date. Good for you!
Yes, tell us please.... what is your novel about? I love to read fiction... you know the ones... those girly romantic novels. hehe

Congratulations on your decision to have RNY. I hope to be having RNY soon. I am 65 years old YIKES...that's scarey aye? I have had every test possible and they have been sent in. My OHIP approved many months ago, but I still think it isn't going to happen for me. I will try to have patience. As for you won't it be fun to play with the grandchildren. You sure have moved around so you must be a flexible lady who will soon be loosing weight and enjoying life.
I am a Canadian, and live on the border with Michigan. I live in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario and our sister city is Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. We spend most of our leisure time in Michigan.
I just wanted you to know I wish you the best and Take care of yourself.

Welcome to OFF, I'm sure you'll find all the support you need for your WLS journey right here and in the process make some real good friends.
It sounds like you have a lot of good stuff going on and in the near future you'll probably have more as a result of WLS.
I wish you the best possible outcome on Monday and look forward to your telling us a little about the novel you are writing. I write poetry and have been told that I write well and should write a book, which I hope to do one day.
Best wishes, Laureen
