Hi Marcy, and welcome!  I'm an RN too.  I had my VSG surgery two years ago, so I'm learning to maintain this weight.  I'm delighted that your time is coming soon.  Hope to get to know you better!

Hi Marcy,

First, thank your husband for me.  I appreciate his service to our fine country.

I retired after 20 years in the service in 1991.

I am 57, been married for 34 years.  Have 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren.  Number six will be here within the next 3 weeks or so.

I work bunches.  I have 2 jobs and work overtime whenever I can.  I work overnight, so most of my posts are done after 10PM CST and before 6AM.  I am fortunate enough to have two jobs that permit me internet access.

Please hang around and post often.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Thanks for all of your good wishes! I'm delighted to find such a welcoming group!

And thanks for the interest in my writing. I've been a voracious reader all my life, so I'm writing the type of books that I like to read - women's fiction and Christian romance. The book I'm working on right now is a romance about a young woman who joins the Army to pay for nursing school without much thought for what that commitment might cost her. At Walter Reed Army Medical Center, her amputee patients and a war-weary surgeon hiding his own injuries teach her that becoming an Army nurse requires more than just putting on a new uniform.

I'm in the revision stage now, and have a couple of agents and editors who've asked to see it when I'm ready to submit it.

As far as the surgery goes, I just finished my last day of full liquids and will be on clear liquids tomorrow, then the big day! Can't wait.

Again, thanks for all your kind words.

Marcy
