Okay, that's about the most horrible thing I can think of a person saying to anyone!!! Remember that period of time when I went through the same thing? It will stop, I promise you, after people get used to the new you. However, until then, I know you're the better person here. It's not right that we think of those snappy come backs after the fact, is it? Still, she had no right to say such a thing. OHHHHHHHH

Don't kid yourself, they do comment on us when we are obese....just not always to our faces. Sometimes I think the comments after weight loss are jealous remarks. We are no longer in the niche people have put us in for so many years and now they don't know where we fit in the scheme of things. Keep your head up you have mastered your obesity and deserve a big pat on the back.
Good morning all. Well hopefully today I will learn how to make wine. A friend is coming over & bring her stuff to teach me. We have a lot of wild raspberry plants so next year I hope to make some of that!

Good morning, Annette and all my other OFF family. Today is wonderful Saturday and my favorite day of the week.
The other good part of today is it is the first day of Bill's vacation. Now by the time the week is starting to come to an end it will be another story and then my favorite day of that week is going to be Monday. I love having him home and then by the time the week is coming to an end he starts to get antsy and is missing going to work and then he starts to get on my last nerve.
Shawn is coming over later this afternoon. He talked to us on the phone last night and said that he was coming over and then found out that I made stuffed peppers yesterday. He told me to make sure to save him some. I told him that there was some out there. Then he gave me the order for next week ends restaurant~he wants for me to make some chili. I was going to make it anyway so I told him alright. He need never know that it was on the menu to begin with. ha ha
Shawn told me that after the baby is born Carol wants to go back to work. She worried about a babysitter and Shawn told him that he is pretty sure that the baby's grandma would babysit. I asked him what baby's grandma and he said me. I told him that of course I would babysit Baby Whozit who by then will have a name. He asked if they didn't have time to bring the baby to me would I go out there and get the baby. I said alright. He talked last night about maybe moving around Portage and I do so hope that happens. It would be a lot closer for me to go get the baby if they lived here. Right now it only takes about 15 minutes to get to them but they live out in the country and I would not want to drive those roads in the winter with ice and snow. They are use to it but I am not. The baby's names are so far~for a boy Caleb Taylor Lee and if it's a girl she is going to have the name Madison Lee Ann. I know in my heart that it is going to be a boy but I am still silently hoping it is a girl. As long as the little thing is healthy and happy it makes no difference to either Bill or me what it is.
Nothing more going on here today. I guess Bill is going to start to clean the hall closet sometime this week end. Not sure when though. It is a mess and usually let it be known that you take your life into your hands when opening the door. Heaven only knows what is liable to fall on you when you do. ha ha
I better get going. I have some things to do before DS gets here. Bill is busy reading the paper and Misty is no where to be seen so she must be in bed. Lucky little kitty!
I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone. Special ones are being sent for those in need of them. I am so glad that God knows who needs them. I am so glad that He knows everything. He is truly amazing to me. Have a wonderful day and just remember that we need to keep a smile on our faces!

Well, I'm back. Wasn't sure I'd make it, after the lab tech drew 14 tubes of blood. It used to be 12 each time, but I asked the doc to order some extra Vitamin tests, and it was time for my thyroid stuff to be done, too. I couldn't WAIT for my coffee! I didn't get around to breakfast till almost 11, and it ended up being some of the chili I have simmering in the crock pot. The scale is inching up again, just a few lbs, but I've learned to deal with 2-3 lbs immediately instead of having to tackle a gain of 5-10 or more. So back to the basics for a week or so, South Beach Phase I. That plan is working so far, over a year into maintenance. But I remain vigilant. I have too many beautiful clothes to take any chances. Not to mention self esteem issues...
I actually started some little house projects today, too. It's rainy and cool outside, and I have 3-4 little half hour projects that I've been putting off, due to sheer laziness. Today is the day! It'll be nice to feel that I'm accomplishing something, other than working crappy hours at my "real" job.
Tonight I'm going to a travelogue on France with a girlfriend. That is, if she ever calls me about when we're supposed to meet for dinner before. If not, I have a nice new book that will suit me just fine.
Talked to Thelma this morning. She's setting me up at Starbucks for coffee with Joe. Gotta love that girl!

Just a quick hello to you all. I'm taking a quick break from house work. My Daughter is having a surprise birthday party for her Husband tomorrow.
Of course this means I had better have my place in order. They actually live on the other side of our duplex and when her place gets over crowded my Mom, Sister with her husband end up here, just to get away from the younger crowd. My Husband is busy doing much needed yard work the AM. I have so many Zucchinis here I will make some breads and then freeze some. If I can white knuckle through it long enough to stay on my pre-op diet. This is day 9 and I just had to get on the scale I'm down 13 pounds! Yay! Well I had better get busy you all have a wonderful day.

It's chilly and raining here in West Michigan. All those beautiful colorful fall leaves are falling off the trees. Luckily I don't have to rake (because I couldn't, they would make me sneeze and wheeze).
Had a not so late night at work last night because of the new regimen ... I only have one business page to work. I knew this would happen though ... they gave me four things to get on the page ... in their dreams! I looked at the length of the three stories and said there's no way I can fit three stories with photos, info boxes and then two photos and a copy block on the bottom. Just no way! So the business editor was over as I was saying that and she said cut the photos and copy block. Good! After I sent my one page and the two stocks pages, the girl in the back shop comes up and says the stocks pages are on the wrong pages ... I said, no, that's where they are now. Someone didn't tell her. She's a little ditzy anyway.
We were all talking about the coming cutbacks last night. Lots of concern, of course. I guess the ax starting falling on the other papers in the chain already, so we were reading about it. Some of it was not nice ... a couple of people who were pregnant or on sick leave were not offered buyouts and just let go. That concerns me a lot, considering I will be on sick leave starting Jan. 5 and I don't know when these cutbacks will occur. And there's another woman on our desk (a part-timer) who will be on maternity leave at the same time. You know how they always leave behind the weak and sick anyway. Hope that's not me.
I have to run to the store and get some tomato sauce/paste for chili ... thought I was out of tomatoes but have those, just not enough sauce/paste.
Annette, I have a real stinker for a cat lately, although I'm not sure which one it is ... either Nettie or Diva ... pooping on the cat tower bottom for the past week. One or both is going to the vet Monday. Can't afford the bill and will have to postdate the check. They don't bill, unfortunately. So I have to figure that bill into next week's budget. Really can't afford sick cats at this point. Hope it's not serious but a cat pooping out of the box isn't good. They seem healthy ... they're eating and playing and doing what cats do, except not going in the box. Don't know why ... I clean it every day and they have three boxes to go in, haven't switched litters.
Well, I should get going. It's almost 2 p.m. Have a good day.

I've been doing some soul searching this week after a few unpleasent little things have happened. Now just need to decide what to do about it. I know this is vague, and I don't mean to be mysterious but since I haven't decided yet, will keep it to myself for a little bit until I do decide.
I didn't go to the doggy event today to work as my Saturdays usually are filled with. I won't be there for a few weeks as next week is basket guild and the week after will be spent in Shipshiwanna at a basket retreat. Looking forward to THAT!
It felt funny with nothing planned today but I started reading a book and have been doing that most of the day except for running to Menards and got 3 ceramic heaters for various rooms of the house. I'm trying not to turn on the gas furnace until November at the earliest. I do like a warm bathroom (and YES I know these aren't supposed to be used in the bathroom, but I'm doing it carefully). I also put one in the office room here and in my craft room. I have an electric fireplace in the living room (very small one) that does a good job, and I do turn on the gas fireplace in the evening if I am going to be in the family room for several hours. I have another electric heater in my bedroom and the small bathroom. I think these will be just the thing to suppliment the planned 60 degree temp I will keep my house at this winter.
It's funny, having been going to dog events for so many years it seemed strange to just pop in, say hi to a few people and talk to the dogs then leave. I usually take Sunday's as MY day, but this weekend is MY weekend I guess!

Saturday is just about over but I'll post anyway. I am packed and ready to leave in the morning for the cruise terminal. I hope my allergy/respiratory infection is just about cleared up. I take my last pill tomorrow. I will bring the bottle in case I need to ask the ship's doctor to refill it. Hope he will if I need to.
I got the mystery box a couple of days ago. I was not feeling well enoug to get it back in the mail and decided that I would wait until after the trip. That way I will be able to look for some neat stuff in Cozemel or the Grand Caymans. There are only two people left on the list . I hope I find something neat enough to make the wait worthwhile. I'll be back online when I return November 3rd.
