What's New Thursday?
Hi Nan...I spoke with Kyleigh earlier. She sounds more calm and is glad she is in the hospital. She doesn't like the way she was/is feeling.
Nic will be going to NYC to see Dr. K in January. The cancer is still there in his thighs and in his lung. He will be in MN next week for a pet scan etc. to check and see that it hasn't spread anywhere else.
Thank you for the prayers for all of us. This has been some ride!! Our plates can't get much fuller!!!
I also keep Morgan and all of you in my thoughts and prayers. This Cancer Monster has to go!!!
Hugs.....connie d

Hello Eileen and my OFF Family,
I am sending prayers for all of us that the Good Lord will send us a financial blessing and improved health. It sounds like most of us are really in need of both. I know my husband is out of work and has been for sometime now. I quit a very secure job to become a realtor about 3 years ago and I guess everyone knows how things are going for realtors right now! Things are really tight for us to.
I am however thankful for all the things that the Lord has provided for us.
I have floor duty today at the real estate office and not one call has come in. I don't mind working but I cannot manufacture buyers or sellers and the market is the pits. Oh well I keep telling myself that this too shall pass.
Hugs and prayer for all,

This economy situation has affected all of us.....I pray everyday that it will get better....I am so thankful for my part time job, but if my social security ever ended I'd be in big trouble....
I went to three grocery stores today, just to take advantage of their specials and still spent over $100.....that said, however, I shouldn't have to buy any more groceries for a month, except maybe milk and cottage cheese. The last time I bought Dawn dish detergent it was $2.47 == today is was $3.38....simply ridiculous. Good thing tho' I filled the van with gas last nite for $2.37/gal and it only took $20!
Did manage to get my yard and flower beds all cleaned up for winter, this afternoon....took me a little over an hour and I was sweating when I came in, even tho' it's only in the low 50's here.
Sorry got sidetracked with piano students....hope I didn't hold anyone up...
I got a nice surprise in the mail today....some very nice person sent me two cross stitch towels.....whoever you are it was a lovely and generous gift and I do so appreciate it! Thank you Thank you.
Hugs to all and special prayers to those in need.

Done! Your Ticker:
Yeah, I know groceries were more than I expected ... I hit the sales and fill up the freezer ... luckily the kitties didn't need anything this week; still have to get gas, although it's down to $2.49 now (I'm just getting giddy about it going down now). I was going to buy calcium citrate-magnesium today, thought Walgreens had a buy one get one special, but when I got up there and they rang it up, my total was $49.99 and that was much more than I was expecting ... had the pharmacist check the receipt, nope, no BOGO on it. So I had him check the specials and the store brand wasn't on special, so I had him void it. I still have a whole bottle, but I try to get it when it's on sale. So that brought my total with prescriptions down to $29.99, much better.
It's so tough as soon as I have an unexpected expense like the vet, I can't handle anything. I just feel squeezed. And I have a job ... can't imagine anyone living on SS or pension ... don't know how I'll manage when I retire ... if I can ever retire.

not to be a downer about the gas...yesterday it was $2.03 at the walmart in findlay-today it was $2.08...now 2.08 is awesomeness incorporated but it is a tad upsetting that it is already going back up--hopefully only temporary!!!
this money stuff- we get his soc sec which isn't much ( he is getting reduced /younger start amount) and his worker's comp which is 2/3 of what he earned when he worked and no OT which he got a lot of--and the worker's comp could end any time--and then my 20 hours plus the plasma (yahoo!! today iron was 42!!! whooooooooooo hooooooooo) --i hav eno insurance and the plasma could end any time- you know that! so--we might as well say fixed income here- and our mortgage is only 4 years old so ...we were both working 40+ hours when we bought...ouchies!!!!
as for retiring--i know that i have to work til i'm like 70 or 72 to get anything from soc sec....and there is no 401k -tho i have PERS thru the county if i stay there! so--i'm right there with ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Oh, I know your situation is just as bad (well, actually much worse) than mine. My mortgage is now six years old and under $98,000 now. I have a 401K but can't put anything into it (which in this economy is a good thing). I probably won't be able to retire until I'm 75 the way I'm going ... they'll be wheeling me out of here ... or they'll have to force me out (which they may do anyway much sooner than 75) ... or then there's the prospect of disability the way my body keeps breaking down.
Let's hope things improve, Margo ... I keep praying for a better job for you. I know you're talented enough.
As for me, I have a feeling I might be headed for that wheelchair sooner rather than later.
