It's SUNDAY - What's new with you?
he is a beautiful wine color- not really a brown...his nose has that pretty wine color of a weimeraner i knew once!
once he moves in we'll take pics! took a whole camera full at granddaughter's bday party ( oh she was really getting into this opening presents stuff!!!) and left the camera sitting there on a table --so it will be next weekend before i see the camera back!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I thought I'd get to sleep in a little this am...no such luck woke up at 5am with an upset tummy. Probably was from eating in the car yesterday on the road. Funny, it never used to bother me before.
I've been taking down the Halloween decorations and putting up the Thanksgiving ones this morning. I love decorating for Fall except for cleaning up the real leaves in the yard. It's funny because I strew the silk ones in the living room around the fireplace & mantel, of course they are easy to pick up as they are on a vine, wish the ones in the yard were so easy to clean up. We only have two trees in our yard but it seems like all the neighbors leaves blow this way. Last year we hired a friends teenage sons to come rake them up after they all had fallen down. Have to call them again soon. The older one(16) is really helpful when he is here, have used him to cut grass and use the snow blower when it is too much to handle. He works as hard as any man. The younger on (13) likes to stand around alot and watch his brother work, too busy on his cell phone. The last time we asked only for Jeff to come and cut the grass.
Well guess I'd better go and finish up the living room. We have a benefit to go to this afternoon for Krabbe Disease. Our good friends baby died from it when he was only 9 months old. Their foundation helps other families going through the same thing. Research done at Duke University has shown umbilical cord stem cell transplants as a viable treatment for this horrible disease. If anyone would like info on this you can go to www.liamsmemorialfoundation.org . Ok time to get off my soapbox....sorry this is a subject near and dear to my heart.
I hope you all have a wonderful fall day.
Hugs, Paulette
This morning is church of course. Today is Pastor's first communion with us and he is changing it. That isn't all bad. Everyone seemed to be tired of the same thing as before. I am so glad that this Pastor is taking charge and changing things. He is doing it slowly so that some people don't get upset. He tells me that he is not going to hurt anyone since that is not suppose to be a church. Everyone still just loves him. He says that it is still the honeymoon time and he is right but the same people keep coming back and they are telling me that they just love him and could listen to him all day. So...to me that is a good sign. I think he is just nervous.
This afternoon is our charge conference with the new cluster thing going on. Jeanne~does your UMC's do their charge conferences with the cluster stuff? This is our first one and no one is sure if they are going to like it. I am kind of looking forward to it since we are sharing the meeting with 2 other church's. I like different sometimes. No one was going to go and they kept complaining about it. I finally told them to try it and they just might like it. They probably won't because they already closed their minds to it. My church is good for doing that. I keep stressing the Open minds, open hearts and open doors thing that is the motto of the United Methodist Church's.
It rained last night. I never heard it at all. I slept like a rock. I had the television on and kept waking up to see it getting later and later. I would think that I was going to watch it because I then felt awake but only to wake up later on doing the same thing. I finally turned it off about 1. Bill of course went to sleep really fast. He can do that and I am jealous because I can't do it usually.
I guess I had better to movin'. I want to check my e-mails and such and then I have to start getting ready for church. It takes a while to fix this face so it is decent to go out in public. I got my gf a mug that says that 2 things for morning is 14 pounds of make up and a cup of coffee. I found that and just knew that it was her. Only she starts it off with about 3 cups of coffee.
I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone too. Special ones for those in need of them. Have a wonderful day today and keep a smile on all of your beautiful and handsome faces.
Good Morning George, "Church Lady" (Brenda) and all OFF crew.
It is another beautiful Fall day in western North Dakota. Clocks have all been turned back (exceptmy car) and it was strange waking up this morning to light instead of dark. Hubby was up early to meet son at their job site this morning. They contracted to put the siding on the new SEARS building that is to open with a deadline of Nov. 10th so all contractors are working over time tring to complete it. There is so much construction going on in our city. There is an OIL BOOM on here and it's crazy!! Lots of jobs available here.
My husband and son have their own SIDING & WINDOWS home improvement company here.
Tomorrow morning I will call my Surgeon's nurse and inform her that my kidney stones ordeal is over (for now???) and it should be surgery as scheduled on the 19th...........Whew, that's not far off !!
I hope every one has a wonderful Sunday and an even better tomorrow.
Hugs,
Sandy
It's interesting Sandy ... North Dakota sent a recruiter here to West Michigan because Michigan's unemployment rate is the highest in the nation (well, second highest now) and North Dakota has one of the lowest ... so they're recruiting our out of work ironworkers, etc., for their oil boom.
I know where Williston is ... used to work in northern South Dakota (Aberdeen) and my friend Margie grew up in Mott, N.D. ... her family ran newspapers in Mott and Hettinger. for years. She now lives in Redfield, S.D.
Good luck on your surgery!
Good Sunday Morning. Just 2 more days of political ads and phone calls. WooHoo! I am doing a brined turkey today. A dry run before Thanksgiving. I never brined one before. Then I will be roasting it with my Mom's usual recipe. Fed my DH and 2 grandsons breakfast. BLT's for 2 of them, just french toast and bacon for the other. Texted my son and DIL to tell them the kitchen would be closed from 9 AM to 2 PM for lunch prep, so if they want breakfast they better hurry. She texted back to say, since both boys had shlepped down here for breakfast they were going out to eat in peace, and run a few errands. She is bringing dessert later.
So now it is 9 and I have to get my fanny in the kitchen. I will have to put everything on hold from 10 - 10:30, cause my Mommy calls me every Sunday at that time. But that is built into my schedule (sorry, I am quite anal and have a schedule all written up)
Everyone enjoy their Sunday!
I worked 13hrs. last night because of the time change. Every clock had a different time. The ones on the computers changed automatically the others had to be changed. So it made the night seem like forever. I was always wondering what time it was. I'm glad it's over. I have one more night to work. Then I'll be off for 2days. These 12 hr. shifts just wear me out. I wish I were rich so I could retire. But I'll just have to tuff it out I guess. I've got to go get some sleep
so I'll be ready for work tonight. Everyone have a great day.
