I just got finished with all my testing for the surgery and all was great and now I have come down with a swollen eyes and face, shortness of breath, no appetite, tired, back hurts (that could be from laying down so much). I had tried a new cream for my face and when I went to ER yesterday they said that is a possible cause. So they gave a chest xray and benadryl. Well, today is a new day and I am still the same. I am getting scared and don't want anything to ruin my chances of getting surgery. If anyone had this experience please let me know. I really am scared to death.

Sometimes anxiety can do strange things to us. How swollen is the eye? does ice help? maybe a little bug bit you? could be all sorts of different things.....

Your doctors will know whats best for you....and it is normal to feel some anxiety and fear.....keep us updated.....

Its the eylid and under the eye, they told me to wait a few days and if it doesn't get better call. Very scary especially the shortness of breath. But thanks Gail

Well, unscare yourself.  Get to your PCP... Sounds like an allergy to something to me... but then I got my degree in MRS., MOM,and Real Estate.  Call your doctor and get a follow-up.  It's the shortness of breath that bothers me more than anything.

I can't see that you have something that would ruin your chances for surgery if you have been going to your PCP and this is a new thing....

I'm wondering about the new cream, too.... maybe something you ate?

Call your doctor.

Yes, Janet this is new, I never have shortness of breath they seem to think allergie because of all the testing I had done and everything is good. I sure hope so, they told me to call in a few days if it dosen't get better and if I am not better by tomorrow I will go back. I very scared

Gail, I tried a new eye cream years back and I had swollen eye lids and below the eyes for several days.
I did not however have shortness of breath. Do you have more Benadryl? Place cool compresses on your eyes to reduce swelling. If so, take another dose. Have it checked out again if no relief. The shortness of breath is the one to watch.

Gail....I agree...it sounds like a allergy reaction to me. I have had that happen when I used Oil of Olay products one time....never again!!

If it is allergies....it will calm down in a couple days. If not, do follow up with your doctor.

Like Darlene said...stress could be the factor too.

Gail, sounds like your are alergic to something. And shortness of breath comes with a reaction but stay in good contact with your doctor. Beth
