Hello Sunday! How ya doing?
Not much is happening in my life right now (except for a German shepherd trying to lick the keys) except for the race to complete all of this term's necessities and get ready for the next. I have a sore throat tonight, so I'm thinking that the work might be a little tougher than I thought with the cold that I'm probably getting.
Santa Claus parade in town tonight - very cute with all the little kids. We have no snow and I was outside watching the parade with just a light sweater on. I like this weather and I'm not looking forward to the crappy stuff that February and March usually bring. My Christmas lights are half up - that is, I have candles in each of the windows and a wreath on the front door, but the strings of lights and the huge star that I just bought are still sitting in the house. I have lived here for a year and I'm still not certain about the decorating. My house is a white frame and I'm not really into a lot of colour on the house. I have clear lights and hope to put some up tomorrow if the weather holds and I don't fear going up the ladder without anyone holding it.
I'd like to thank you for understanding my fear about my G. shepherd, Creena. She has caught a "bug" according to the vet. Her temp was high and so were her white blood cells. He said that she could have been affected by something as simple as bacteria in the air since she does not have contact with any other dog but her house-mate, Derwood Kirby, the bigger of my two dogs. Creena is on antibiotics and seems a little better. She is eating a little, but she was very weak and she has been sleeping a lot. Creena growled at Derwood today when he was bugging her (which is a common thing here), so I know that she feels better.
Anyway, $248.00 later, she feels better and I feel better. Thanks again for your kind words.
Have a great Sunday.
Margaret

Well, someone else up and can't sleep ... I was in bed, in pain, got up to take a vicodin for my knee, thought I was going to nod off and didn't, so I got up and decided to start the post, but you beat me to it. Oh well, that's OK. Glad you feel comfortable with us already.
Glad Creena's feeling better already. Here's the update on Diva: she pooped in the box this evening while I was on the phone with Brenda. I heaped all sorts of praise on Diva: Good girl! Unfortunately, Diva didn't bury it like a good cat, but at least she hit the box. Of course, I'm not allowing her privileges to the front bedroom; when I get a chance, I'm getting rid of the cat tower ... don't know when or if I'll get another one. The door to the bedroom is now closed to the cats unless I'm in the room. I've moved the cat bowls out of there and the third litter box is the next to go ... I will put it in the spare bathroom with the other boxes. It's going to be very crowded. But I don't see a way out of it. It was a nice place to put the food and litter box, but I can't trust Diva now. I had the bedroom opened for about an hour this morning and she struck again ... so that was it. She left a big mess for me to clean on the cat tower. I have to be grateful it's just the cat tower.
Had a busy day and didn't accomplish much of decorating at all. Went to see my former ceramics teacher and got her to do the eyes on my gnome birdfeeder that I am making for my friend Margie in South Dakota ... all I have to do now is paint the buttons on his shirt (forgot about those) and then spray it to fix the paint and it's done. Only took two years. Ann and I had a good talk ... I brought her some Bailey's Irish Cream with Caramel ... I bought it two years ago while on a cruise (bought three bottles, gave two to my brother and tried to drink this one, but since surgery it makes me nauseous ... I know Ann likes this stuff, so I told her to keep it ... it was almost a full bottle. I figure I'll be back to have her do more eyes for me, and she doesn't charge for this service.)
We talked for a while while she painted, and I stayed longer than I expected; her husband is off hunting. Then I went and did some shopping. I had stopped off at PetsMart on the way; then on the way back I stopped at Michaels for some stuff ... bought a couple of frames and a craft item for my 4-year-old grandnephew Sam; then to the grocery store for a few things, where I saw the other ceramics teacher, Alice. How strange to run into both of them the same day.
Came home, scarfed down a snack sized back of pretzels (all I had all day was my protein drink and I was hungry), talked to my brother Gary for awhile, then had dinner while watching "Miracle on 34th Street" ... talked to Brenda for a long time (love ya, Brenda!)
I hope I can get some decorating done today because I have so much to do, especially the outside stuff before it starts to snow here.
I think I'm going to have a glass of milk and see if that puts me to sleep. I'm getting close but not quite there. Just in too much pain right now. I have so much to do and can't do as much I as need to get done or I'm going to hurt too much.
Well, have a good Sunday. Go Bears, beat those Vikings!
Hopefully Mary and I will be putting up the tree later today. Hope so. Want to get in the spirit. Sometimes that is hard to do.
Gotta get my ornament out in the mail. I know my person will like it.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Have a Fantasy Football question for you. Last week it said I "*clinched" a playoff spot. I am in 2nd place. So my question is, if I lose this week do I lose my spot???
The team I play against today already has 45 points from Thursday...I have zero, zip, zilch.......talk about pressure.....
...and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly...on a broomstick.
We are flexible.
Darlene
So what this means is you can not fall out of the top 6 teams even if you lose the rest of your games before the playoffs.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Redundant is the word of the day. Why? Because it's the same old song, second verse around here.
Yesterday I went thrift store shopping. Losing its luster. Nothing I need.... and if it ain't perfect, I'm not buying it. Did find a pretty purple sweater with bling... decent shape. $3.
On to Goodwill..nothing... then found the Taste of the Islands so Susan and I stopped for lunch. I had the stewed chicken w/rice and cabbage. She had curried chicken.
On to Asian World Market. Two apples and some chicken hearts. Cooked the chicken hearts and hurled them all night. Will be going to my sisters with the noodles today.
Today is $4 (maybe), laundry, laundry, more laundry. Kitchen, floors. Finding something to wear to work tomorrow...DID I SAY WORK TOMORROW????
Weather has taken a turn. Not complaining...nope... just colder and windy. Would never complain when so many of you are in white stuff.
That's it so far from me. Anything else, I'll edit.

We went to 4$ this morning for our fix and I had one of the coupons for a free tall holiday drink. Got the Gingersnap Latte and man, oh man, I've fallen in love all over again. They even put a few pieces of crystalized ginger on top of the whip. Ok, next time I'll order it FF and just foam, no whip, but mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Have you gotten one of thier gold cards? I think I will and then buy them out of the the gingersnap syrup so I can switch off with my vanilla lattes in the a.m..
Susan
I have all of their SF syrups. Where did you get a coupon for a free tall Holiday drink?
In fact, right now I'm making lemon bars and chocolate chip bars to take to my first day back to work with one of those green containers that holds half of a big one...one that will hold enough for 25 people to have coffee. Probably can just get two travelers... anyway...got it altogether and a rolling cart to put it in so when I make my grand entrance tomorrow, I'll have them ALL eating out of my hand....she's BAAAAAAACCCCCKKKKKK....
