What a family you all are!!! THANK YOU!
Aloha my wonderful, generous sisters and brothers....
I came home yesterday from scurrying around with so many things to do, and there was this love bouquet of encouraging posts from you all. You can't imagine how that lifted my spirits and gave me courage for what is ahead. THANK you all so much for being here.
It is dark outside (4:15 a.m.) and I am packed and ready to go to the airport. My two kitties are wandering around with a lost look on their faces...they know that I'm going away for awhile. I always hate to leave them, although they do just fine with friends popping in to feed them, clean litter boxes, and just play with them. I know those of you with furry families know the tug on the heart when you leave your "children."
Yesterday's "celebration of life" down on the lawn for my friend's husband was just beautiful. Again the generosity and aloha came in abundance for someone in need. The tables were laden with every kind of pupu, salad, hot dish, sweet treats, and flowers, flowers, flowers. At one point a friend flew over in a helicopter (very low) and dropped flowers into the ocean right in front of us. Everyone waved and cheered. It was a lovely send off, and my friend felt so loved, and she is. She will be my pick up person, and my angel, waiting at the airport on Thurs. I think needing each other is what keeps life full and rich...and that's exactly what we do in here. I never want to take that for granted.....it is probably right up there on top of the list of gifts given to us from WLS, and the whole process of getting there, doing that, and then living life afterwards.
Sending you all the biggest, tightest aloha hug....and I WILL keep you all in my pocket the next couple of days so I can whisper to you what is happening, how I'm feeling, and maybe even give you a tickle!!
Thank you doesn't even come close to saying how I feel.
With so much aloha,
Maui Karen
