Welcome to Tuesday. What's new with you?
George - you are in my thoughts and prayers today, and I hope that things turn around soon with your family.
It's SNOWING!!! Other than a few flakes that fell and melted, this is the first real snowfall that we've had, and I love it. I know that it will get tired after a while, but the first snow is always nice. I'd like to go outside and make angels, but I think I'll refrain from doing that as I'd probably get down and not get back up - being old and (still) fat does that to a person.

I have the mother of all head colds and it has pretty much laid me flat out. I worked yesterday and told my students that if I fell asleep during their test just to leave me there and turn out the lights!! They laughed, but I'm not sure that I was kidding!

I'm going back to bed. It's just 7, and I don't have to be up at any particular time today. I'm looking forward to pulling the covers over my head.
Have a good day everyone. Margaret
I think that I just figured out what $4 is - Starbucks! Is that right??
Creena is looking like her old self. She and Derwood are bugging each other and that is a really good sign that she feels better.
George, it always seems that when we feel the worst or feel like NO ONE can have it as bad as we do, we see someone who has it worse. A real humbling/eye opening experience. One of my favorite quotes is "it can always be worse..." and it CAN be. Many times even me saying that to myself doesn't really help, sometimes things happen and you just can't get past them until you actually see or hear or read about someone else's misery and suddenly yours doesn't seem so bad. Good luck in your situation and I hope it eases off soon for you.
I am so stiff and sore today it's not funny! I'm having a party at my house Saturday for my basket guild and was in a cleaning frenzy last night. After work I went to Wauseon to the dump and got rid of another 340# of stuff from the garage. (all that fit into my little Vibe!) stopped at WalMart for a few things and got home, did the animal thing including feeding the STARVING dogs! ate dinner and got to work. Oh my. I had thought I would get the family room cleaned AND decorated last night HA, again I say HA! Not so. I got most of it done, re-arranged the furniture just need a few touch ups here and there....then on to the living room and hall. The best for the last of course is the kitchen. (UGH is the only word I can say for THAT!) The bathrooms will be last then decorating begins. I should clean the furniture in the family room, I did the living room furniture already, not sure that is going to get done before Saturday however.
Not much else new from me, going today for yearly mammogram and bi-annual dexa scan. will be interesting to see how that plays out being almost 3 years out now.
Have a good day all!

Hey Debbie we sure can fit a lot of stuff in our Vibes!!!!! I have 2 of them. an 03 and an 04.
My 04 Vibe has 111,000 miles on it and is going strong. My daughter has the other one.
Mine is red and hers is silver.
Well work today was lets say interesting. My coworker had a misscarriage and was scheduled by herself. She hasnt had her D and C yet because she is supposed to goout of town on Thursday so they are waiting till Tuesday to do it. I was afraid to leave her alone in the salon so I was just there doing paperwork. and such. Cause I was afraid if she started to feel bad or faint or not come out of the restroom What was she going to do if she couldnt get off the floor and get to a phone let alone have clients there.
She worked till 1 or so then I sent her home and I was there the rest of the day and evening by myself. I cut 19 heads in 8 hours. I am so tired.
I am off tomorrow and have to go and see the ENT about my thyroid nodules then go for a CT scan. Going to be a busy day tomorrow.
My sink was backed up for 2 days. I finally got the handy Man to come over to unclog it.
I gues swhen it rains it poors.

Morning all! Went to our nephews first basketball game last night. They lost. The coach does not have control of these boys and it really shows!! They spend alot of time on the floor and I just marvel at how they can fall like that and then get back up and run,, I would be down for days!!!
Sorry that some of you folks are having a hard time......been there done that!! The thing that has always helped me is to make a gratitude list. Usually takes me a while, as I can grumble and mumble in my head about all the things I am unhappy about, and then finally I settle down and start to write about things I am grateful for. Funny, as I small child I always wondered and marvelled about the fact that I was born in the United States......almost to the point that I felt guilty, wonder if that comes from going to Catholic school!!!
Tonight we get to go to our grandson's "Winter" program (and that's the other side of NOT going to a Catholic school....can't call it a CHRISTmas program) He is SO excited about it.....walks around singing little quips of the songs! DH is driving quite a ways today so don't know if he will be able to get home in time. Hope so!!
Hope all of you have a wonderful day and find a thing or two to be really, really happy/pleased/grateful for!!! Hugs and prayers.....V
Today is the day!!! In just a few short hours I am going to know just who my grandbaby will be. I think that this old grandma remembered the name they chose for a girl~Mallory~but don't quote me on it. I ran it past Bill last night and he can't remember it either and the name didn't ring a bell either. But then again he can't remember the name for the boy either~which is Caleb. Sometimes I think that he should think of himself as lucky to remember his own name! He has a sieve for a brain most of the time. He can't think a thought in his head! I told him last night that I am glad that my grandpa remembered my name. He told me that Brenda isn't a hard name to remember and I told him that no name is hard to remember when you have someone you love named it. I was in Wal Mart last night and thought that we had to get the baby a gift for finding out the gender and so I got Baby Whozit (that could be the last time I call it that) a pair of Foot Rattles. They are colorful striped slippers with a little stuffed velour head on the top. One has a blue teddy bear and the other is red bunny. They have different color ears and embroidered faces and when they shake their little feet they rattle. The thing says that they are rattles with a kick. I fell in love with them the first time I saw them. Any excuse will do to buy the grandbaby something new! I love shopping now but only for the grand! I am still not a shopper for anything else. I think that after the ultrasound old Grandpa is going to be more positive about this whole thing and soon there is going to be grandma and grandpa on the shopping trips!
Today is just a cold and dreary day I think. It is just starting to lighten up for the day and it doesn't look promising. There is snow on the ground and it covers but it isn't as much as they were saying we were going to get. They were saying 3-5" but we got about a couple of inches or so. There is more in some spots than others since the wind was so strong. It was blowing so much yesterday that everything was icy. I had to go out yesterday and the roads were getting bad and you just slipped all over. We never saw a snow plow until just about the time I was getting home. And believe me you could tell it on the streets and the highways. The county is having major money problems and you can tell it. The price of road salt has like tripled and so they couldn't buy as much of that either. When it rains it snows~after all it winter here! So it had to snow and not pour. Just a bit of humor~albeit a small bit of humor at that.
I got gas last night and the price of it is down to $1.58 a gallon. I can't remember when I saw it that low in a long time. It is scary that it is low since I learned a few weeks ago that the price of oil lowers with the ability to pay for it. Since that means money I am taking that it means that there isn't any to pay for it. I heard last night that we are officially in a recession. Like who didn't know that one??????? The government really thought that we didn't get that? They said that we have been in one since last December but they just announced it yesterday. Like if we bury our heads in the sand it is going to go away? I just don't get that at all.
I guess I had better get going. I am going to get ready to go and since it takes me a couple of months to get the face looking decent to go out I should have started on that several weeks ago!
I am sending love and hugs to everyone and prayers are going up too. Have a wonderful day and know that your smile may be the only joy in someones life today. So keep on smilin'!
It is so easy to get down, so hard to get up. Mentally and physically!
Friday I was having a down day, my Sis called and I thought I covered it up well. Ten minutes after I got off the phone with her, Mommy called to ask what was wrong! Family can always tell, can't they? The problem is, sometimes I'm not even sure WHAT has me down!
It's especially bad when family is the root of the bad feelings. There isn't a lot you can do about someone else's actions. Just show your love and support, and pray!
And, yes, reading about others venting DOES make me feel better and count my blessings. ie: so many having problems paying for their meds - ours are free; so many worried about their jobs - we are retired and our checks come from the govt; so many worried about their stocks - I don't have any; so many with family problems - most of mine live many miles away but we do get along well with them (even the ones living close by).
I hope, whoever is feeling down, starts feeling better. I hope whoever is having a good day, it turns into a good week/month/year!
Hope you get to feeling better, George.
I am going to have a long cold, dark, day. They are turning off our power for 4-6 hours. We have to bundle all the residents up and we get to wear casual today. But no computers, heat, or lights so that means my huge amount of work will be even huger the rest of the week. Tried to get the most important stuff done yesterday. Hopefully I can get some other things done. I am wearing long underwear. Another WOW I just realized as last year I would not of been able to fit long underwear under any thing!
It is cold and rainy here.
Take Care all,
Cheryl
