It takes many rungs to be a ladder. Without the rungs you only have two sticks. The bottom one is the most important one, it is the first step.

I know what you mean about stepping down and letting others "run the show" I too am going thru that same sort of thing, but you know, it's nice, just to go and do my job and then come home....and leave it there....:)

Congrats Marc, you will do great...

With  your past and with what I have learned of you here, you will not be the bottom rung for long.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Glad you are doing better, George!

I went to the pastor's breakfast and the door was locked.  Another pastor also showed up and don't know why we weren't notified it was cancelled.

At any rate, that gave me some extra time here at the office.  I found myself folding Christmas letters that I already have someone else lined up to do on Friday, and so I decided to post instead.

Still don't have the home computer back so appreciate it when I have time to get online here at the office.

I go to be with the Senior Citizens in about a 1/2 hour.  They appreciate my being with them.

AFter lunch I am going to see a man with Down's Syndrome who is in the hospitas.  He seems to have something wrong with his liver, but they can't do a biopsy as he is too weak.  He also was quite congested yesterday when I saw him.  He is in his late 60's and I guess it is somewhat of a miracle he has lived this long.  He has a couple brothers and a sister who are also members of this church.

I will also get groceries while I am in the city of Charlotesville.  WE are getting a Food Lion here starting next WEdnesday and I will be very glad to have it a mile away.

I am to go to my granddaughter's Brownie meeting this afternoon.  Tonight we are going to rearrange the parlor furniture and set up the artificial Christmas tree.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Tomorrow I am going for another "fill".  So far, I don't have much restriction and I am eating too much.  Not gaining but not loosing either.

Stay warm!

Good morning everyone. I hope that so far this Wednesday is treating everyone well. So far so good here~thank heaven!

We are going to have rain early this afternoon and then it is going to turn into snow. I hate it when that happens since there is so much ice and that does not make me a happy camper. I am so afraid of falling on the ice and so then I tense up and Bill always tells me every winter that I am going to fall with the way I walk. I was told that my back is so goofed up that if I fall I would probably break my back. Right now the sun is shining and so it is hard to realize that it is going to turn so bad outside. They are calling for us to get about a couple of inches but it could very well be several so I am just hoping for the best as far as that is concerned.

Misty is there staring at me this morning. I think she knows that I am going to be leaving soon. She is going to be alone and she doesn't like that at all. A lot of the time during the day she is asleep on the bed but I guess she knows that mom and/or dad is home and so all is well.

I have to go to the church office and help Jeri with some things. The copier had been on the blink for several days and the repairman came yesterday to get it going. Thank God for that. The Sunday bulletin had to go to a office supply to be done for last week and that is to the tune of over $25~that is a lot of money when you have a copier that is just a few years old sitting there in the office not working. I will be answering the phone and filing for her while she is doing things she needs to do.

Later I am taking my sister out to lunch and then to the insurance office to see about different Medi~Gap insurance for her along with a new Medicare Part D for her too. She is spending so much money each month for them and they are not paying anything much. She is paying almost $500. a month for her Medi~Gap and that is because she is disabled and under 65. I talked to a man at Wal Mart the other night and he had some good ideas~and he is in Chesterton which is where my sister lives. So life is good there. Not so much running around.

I am getting my hair trimmed this afternoon too. It is getting longer and when it does the curls just start popping out and it looks hideous when that happens.

I guess I had better get going. I have places to go and people to see! A busy day for me and I hope to get home before the weather gets to bad. That nasty stuff is suppose to start about 3 and our appointment with the insurance man is at 4~so wish me luck on that! I am sending hugs and love to all and special prayers for everyone. God knows what we need and He provides our needs but not always our wants!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

I am so glad that things are looking up for you George. I am sitting here the worlds biggest procrastinator. I look over at my desk and just groan with the pile of medical records that I have to go through. The interview for the new nurse went well yesterday. Only one of the three scheduled showed up. Hello, we are talking professionals here, and 2 don't even to show up for their scheduled appointments??The one we did interview had every thing we were looking for . So if her references check out we may be sitting pretty. She seems to be my age so I am happy to say I won't end up with a 25 year old boss. With back ground checks and scads of paperwork even if she is hired ( and if she accepts, she has had a couple of jobs that were federally funded by grants that lost funding and she lost the  jobs. So she is a bit skidish about our funding) it could be after Christmas before she starts. I have a lot of time off over the holidays so I will be out of the office a lot. Is it terrible to say I hope I am gone a lot so she finds her own way and I am not bomb barted with questions? I am not looking forward to that. My Tuesday Night show is  the Biggest Loser only 2 more weeks until the end. I love that silly show. We had some snow and ice this morning. Got in the car( running late as always) and saw my gas gauge was on empty. Held my breath just to get to the station a block away. Sure made me smile to get half a tank for $10. Well time for me to dive in this pile of work. Blessings

Hi George and my OFF family:

I am really hurting today. I spent a lot of time yesterday getting my outdoor decorations out. If my ceramics teacher's husband hadn't helped, it would have taken a lot longer. I have an LED deer and three spiral trees. I bought them last year 50 percent off after Christmas. Plus I got a box of net lights to throw over the bushes. I already had a set of those, so I thought I had two sets ... the old set, of course, didn't work. Plus, I have my little snowman that sits in my flower box. Well, it took a while to put that deer together ... Rick is more mechanically inclined than I am ... I would have broken the thing if he hadn't been here. He got it put together, in the ground without breaking it. Then he put together the trees (I broke one of the stars on top but then we figured out how to fix it). It was really cold out there, too. Rick also took away the cat tower and the old recliner, so now there's a lot of empty space in the spare bedroom ... so Brenda, when you come up later this month, there's room to put up the AeroBed. You won't have to sleep on the couch!

Anyway, I was so sore after all this, I had to take a vicodin and even that barely touched the pain. I went to work in pain two hours later and sat there with my right knee feeling like someone was sticking a knife in it all night. I was in tears a couple of times. Luckily, it was a light night and I got out of there fairly early. But then my left knee started to hurt, too. I know it's because I'm favoring my right knee and limping so much. My back is hurting and the pain is going down my left leg. I think I need a visit to the chiropractor today.

George, I'm reading "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. It's not his usual type of book either ... it's about the building of a cathedral in medieval times. It's very interesting. Hard book to put down. There's a follow-up to it too that I also have. I like historical fiction a lot.

Well, I want to get some lights up in the windows in this front bedroom now that I have room to move around in it. Hopefully, I won't be in too much pain.

Have a good day. It's cold and we're supposed to get snow and other crappy weather today.

Good morning George and friends,
It is still morning here in Colorado.  It is a cold day today.  Yesterday it was 68 but today is very different, the high will be 30.  Drastic change!
Today is my daughter's 31st birthday.  She lives in KY, where I lived for 48 of my years.  So, she is missed today and I wish I could be with her.
I am catching up on my bookkeeping for my husband's company.  I got a wee bit behind when I visited Indy for 3 wks visiting my son and being there for the birth of my newest grandson.
I need to find something to wear (don't know what size now) for a special occassion.  We are going to the historic Buell Theatre to see "Jersey Boys" on the 14th in Denver.  I am very excited about this as I enjoy music.
Another good John Grisham book is The Painted House.  Have you read this one or caught the movie?  Very good.
Take good care of yourselves, my friends.  I wish good blessings for all of you each day.
Pat
