Morning all.......cold here 12 degrees right now!!  Not much to report.  Going to call my Dr this morning to "bug" them as to whether they actually have sent in my request for surgery to my insurance. Am battling a cold/sinus congestion, so went to bed last night at 8:30.  Hope it goes away!

Tonight I have supper with my quilt guild...should be fun.  Will miss my shows, but will DVR it for watching later!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and stays healthy!

Good morning,  I am sitting here wrapped up in an afghan thinking of getting some coffee but to cold to go get it.

I guess it is 14 degrees this morning that is cold.  It was cold yesterday and I went swimming.  I have been going 3 times a week for the last month.  Yesterday the instructor asked me if I was new.  There are only a handful of people in the class, I kind of looked at her stranges and said I have been coming here for the last 3 weeks.  I must really blend in the background I guess.

I went for a fill on Tuesday so far no problems with it this time.  I still don't fill restriction so I really need to dig real deep for some willpower.

I am gonna try to get my ornament int he mail tomorrow......I am now wishing I had gotten a different one.........I always agonize over things like this whether or not it is good enough or not or if they will like it.

I am gettting kind of worred about my job I work for a car dealership and reading all the stuff about GM going bankrupt really has me concerned.   I wished I had gone back to work at Cabellas part time this Christmas.......I had worked for them part time over the holidays in the past.

Stay warm everyone and have a great day.

Morning from southwest Michigan.....cold here this morning .....around 27 deg. and supposed to stay that way all day.....they are showing snow showers for every one of the next 7 days....it must be winter!!

Today is our Ladies Aid Christmas Luncheon.  The circuit pastors will be our guests as usual and the children from our church school will provide entertainment.  There will be "tons" of food and I will really have to be selective.

I walked again yesterday at the health club -- did my seven laps ( 1 mile) in under 30 minutes.....that's five minutes better than the first time.....yes!  I just know this is going to jump start my losing again.   I am going to try to start adding an extra lap once a week and b/4 you know it I will be up to two miles.

Got one of two gifts out to my ornament pal yesterday.

I must decorate the house this weekend.....gosh, I'm really behind in doing that.....been working on the cross stitching too much....and I haven't even purchased my Christmas Cards yet.

The DS and DIL got home and both have intestinal upsets....probably caught something on the plane.  They only had bottled water while in Mexico.

Shopping this morning, need a few items and the list keeps growing.

Have a good day,
Pat R.

Good morning, everyone.  Sounds like it is cold all over the country.  It's still only 32 here (up from 28).

Yesterday our daughgter called to say she is feeling better.  The liquid vicodan is working for the pain (the percocet just made her dopey), her vision is returning slowly.  She is very happy to be back in her own house and her DH and kids are taking good care of her.  I still wish I could be there to give her a Mommy's special TLC!

My Momma called last night to say my seemingly healthy 59 y/o cousin passed away from a heart attack!  My God, you never know!

I made some yummy cinnamon rolls from a recipe my DH found online.  He proclaimed them yummy.  Sent the rest home with my son!

TODAY, I am going to a local drug store and check out their bargains.  I got a coupon book in the mail with LOTS of $1 coupons! I also got the names of the people my DH and I have for our Christmas exchange, so I'll look around.  I'm still waiting to hear from their fathers with some suggestions.  One is 18 and a freshman in college, the other is 7, also a boy.  I want something unique, but only have $30 per kid to spend.

I hope everyone has a glorious Thursday.  Stay warm!

Hi George and my OFF family:

I'm here! I just didn't feel like checking on the money ... too depressing. (Although this is my triple time check ... it is nice to see it in there ... just wasn't sure it would be there overnight.) I got home early and went to bed early (for me) at 1 and with the spare bedroom still closed to the cats, I skipped the late night computer call. My elbow has been bothering me and I don't feel like sitting at the computer. I've got a slip to go to the workers' comp doc for it. It's  a repetitive stress thing, so why should I use my own insurance for it? I always figured if I could type and use a mouse, I'd be all right ... now my elbow starts to bother me. Put me on the DL, coach, I have tendinitis. No Tommy John surgery, please! (Only baseball fans will understand this ... Tommy John was one of my favorite players when I was growing up. Funny story, George ... when I was a teen, I took a photo of Tommy John at old Comiskey Park with my Instamatic camera ... I cut off his head ... but even his shadow had no head. Years later, I met him at an awards conference in Minneapolis. We were working on deciding who got these MSN awards, and I was on the committee as a sports writer from South Dakota (a couple of our people got awards). I told him about my headless photo. He thought it was pretty funny ... unfortunately, I didn't have the photo, or I would have had him autograph it. He was very nice.) Anyway, I just want to get a brace or something ... I don't want surgery.

It's cold and it's snowing out here. I'm up early to get going because I have a hair appointment ... this mop i****ting down the back of my neck, and the color is the ugly mousy brown. I haven't had the color done since March. I'm not brave enough to do it myself ... I'm sure it would turn green. I am really a natural blonde, but blondes turn dark as they age (my dad did ... I don't remember him a blond but his younger photos show him that way). Anyway, I want to get it done before I have my knee surgery so I look good for the holidays.

Seems like everyone who sits near me at work is getting colds ... luckily, I don't see them during the day.

Yesterday, I gave the cats  access to the catnip tub for awhile ... when I came back, the catnip was all over the living room floor. Yup, they had a catnip party. Then it was catnip hangover.

Well, I need to finish breakfast and get going. Lots to do today. I'm also meeting some other WLS folks  for lunch. At least one, possibly four ... you never know because people cancel (especially when it's snowing).

Well, have a good day.

Morning George and my OFF buddies,

Dallas and Little Rock are about the same temp. We complain when it's 35, can't imagine what our sisters and brothers feel like in their parts of the country!
Yes, Eileen should have been around by now, hope all is well.

I just checked in on the AR board and a pre op had a DUH question. She's having surgery on the 10th and wants to go to her daughter's (7 yro) cheer competition the day she's released from the hospital. Is that ok, she asks?  AHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG  The competition is 50 miles away from her doctor and hospital, not to mention she probably won't even be discharged in time. ARHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGG   OK>>>>>>I'll take a deep breath before answering that one!

Tess and I had a wonderfully productive meeting with a marketing/graphics person yesterday. She's young, talented and very well connected.  She has worked for Lancome in NYC and had her own fairly new business here in Little Rock. She does all the advertising for the store Tess manages and here's the best part......she's willing to take her pay in hair services, make up (from Tess) and Saint Bella products.  Boy, she has some wonderful short term goals for us and is even thinking Nationally in a couple of years. With her contacts and experience, this just might work.

I hope everyone has a great day today. I'm going shopping for a new outfit. Our Christmas party is coming up and besides, I just want something new.

hugs to all!

Susan

Good Morning Geroge and everyone,

Just a quick note.  So busy at work.  Monday my computer crashed and I was without it until Tuesday morning, an hour before I left for the day, so I'm still playing catch up with the 140 emails I got in that period of time.

Tuesday afternoon I had a spinal injection and it seems to have helped some already.  I no longer need to pull myself up with the dresser to get out of bed, but I'm still having plenty of pain.  They said it may take 72 hours before I feel the full impact, so I'm hoping it will be better in a few days.

Busy at home getting the house ready for the Indiana board Ornament Exchange at our house Saturday.  I sure hope the weather is good for the ones traveling 3-4 hours to attend.  I've lost track of the number of people who are coming, but it's still between 50 and 60.  Should be a cozy affair, for sure.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

Hi everyone
Today is the last day I teach until January 6 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you tell I'm happy?  It seems like it's been a long semester, but they all seem longer as I get older.  I've been ill with what I thought was a head cold, but it wasn't.  It was more like a virus and it knocked the stuffing out of me since last Friday.  I'm just now beginning to feel better.  When I'm teaching, it's very hard to take a day off because there are no substitute teachers in college who will come in for a day or two, so I often go to college when I'm not feeling well.  I guess that would also contribute to the semester feeling like it would never end.
Anyway, I will have lots to mark over the next week, and then I will be preparing for a very busy semester starting in January.  I'm done on the 18th and go back to work Jan. 5.  I'll need the time to regenerate.
Not much else is happening.  Hope everyone has a very blessed day.
Hugs

Good morning to all! I am popping in late but I have been doing what I do best in this world~talking on the phone. Bill has always told me that he is going to put a phone in the casket with me when I die and I tell him to please not since with my luck the dang thing would ring!

Nothing happening here to much. I got my lentil soup on in the crock pot~oh I forgot to put the ham in! Be back in a minute~got it in and so that is done until supper time! It smelled so good when I took the lid off to get the ham in.

It is so cold here. Right now it is about 13 degrees out and it suppose to get to about 23. The wind chill factor is about -4 degrees so it is colder than cold if you ask me. Tonight it is suppose to get down to 9. I guess Bill is going to get use to seeing me in my nightgown, sweat shirt and slipper socks with my slippers too. What a sight but at least I am warm so everyone is happy but most of all me! I find it hard to believe that I use to just love winter and being out in the cold. What a difference a year makes in my life.

Shawn in coming over this afternoon and we are going to go make copies of Caleb's ultrasound pictures. I told Bill I am going to make 3 sets~one for him, one for me and one to keep here at home. Can you tell that we are a set of proud grandparents? I bet you would have never guessed~yeah right.

I better get to going. I got some things to pick up around here. I didn't get to it yesterday since I spent the whole day away from home. I did get a lot accomplished and even had a couple of unexpected runs stuck in that I didn't know about until the last minute. Oh well~such is life and we all must be flexible.

I am sending love and hugs to everyone and special prayers are going up too. In times like the ones we are living in we all need them more now than ever. Have a wonderful and blessed day and don't forget to smile. If you can't smile for the blessings in your life smile for the other things that are not in your life.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
