Update on Abdominal Pain
I posted last week about my recurring stomach pain and well today I finally saw the doctor. hehe I told him right away that it was NOT from eating too fast, I know the difference. So I'm going for a gallbladder ultrasound on Friday. Being diabetic puts me at a higher risk for gallstones which I did not know. Of course this week I really haven't had any problems.
Other than that all is good... protein levels are low and so is iron. I'm working on eating more protein and I'll have an iron supplement to take after the ultrasound.
So I just wanted to update since you all had to listen to me rant about it. Thanks for listening and all being such good friends! :o)

Laura, having wls also increased the chances of getting gall stones too. I was told that when I got my 2nd run of kidney stones. I don't have to worry about that tho since I had my gall bladder out years ago. But the kidney stones are what is getting to me. They put me on meds for them~so now instead of getting them every year I might be able to go 5 years.
Take care of yourself and make sure that you get the dense protein in. That is the best way of protein or at least that is what I have been told by my doctor.

Thanks Brenda for that info. So I guess I might actually have gallstones. Well I'll find out on Friday. He suggested that if I do, I might want to consider getting the gallbladder removed before it becomes an emergency surgery. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
I hear kidney stones are pretty painful! My mom gets them from time to time. Ugh!

Margo, I know about the gall bladder attacks after the gall bladder was taken out. I get them since they didn't get all my stones. They had to cut it short since the heart problem. They didn't want to keep me under for to long. Now the heart is better but I am living with the attacks. The stones only hurt when they are moving and the same with the kidney stones.
laura..this is a case of being your own advocate!!! so many wls patienets don't get foreceful with their docs--you must remain insistant where it comes to your own health!!!!!!!!!!!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
