I'm 59 - and I had WLS 4 months ago.  I questioned whether I was too old.  The surgeon laughed at me.  He said "my oldest patient was 77".  It's attitude and conviction way more than chronological age.  Go for it!  You'll be amazed at the results.

MaryAnn,  I have to get my NO in there also.  I was 57 when I had the Lapband on Aug 12, 2008.  I have lost 47 lbs and feel sooooo much better already!!!   Go for it.

Hope not - I'm going to be 63 this weekend and have my sleeve surgery in 11 days - I hate that my knees hurt & I'm too tired & out of breath to do what I want - I want a fun retirement!  Not to mention preventing all those other problems that come with obesity!

So - go for it!  The Sleeve looks best - except that insurance companies aren't on board yet....

No, you are NOT too old!!! I think that I have found it to be my "Fountain of Youth". Although I am only 6 weeks out from surgery, I already feel years younger and have lots more energy. Remember, age is only a number!

I guess it is overwhelmingly NO you are not.  I was 56, my wife was 50.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
