What's Going on For Friday ? ? ?
HI Millie
What a amazing and wonderful surprise for your son to be home! Two weeks could never be long enough, I'm sure.
All my shopping is finished. Gary is off work today so I'm MAKING him go to the storage garage and get the decorations. Maybe spending time doing some of the decorating this weekend will make me feel better.
Last night was our last support group meeting of the year. Everything went well and we met some very nice people. There was a post op man there who is 7 years out and has lost an amazing 440 lbs!! What an inspiration for the pre-ops attending.
When I left for the meeting I left the dogs in the house. They've been very good for short periods of time and it was pretty cold out so I thought I'd be the kind hearted pet owner and let them stay snuggled on the couch. What was I thinking? Wednesday they TP'd the back yard....last night it was a brand new, yes....just delivered, skein of yarn and the new needles necessary for the scarf I want to make for Tess. The yarn was all over the back yard and the needles, what I could find of the set of 5, were chewed beyond use. Ok, this doesn't happen often anymore, but I flew into a rage....slamming cupboards, throwing pots. Poor Gary just went into his office and closed the door. Good thing too because he hadn't cleaned up after himself from dinner and I hate coming home to dishes in the sink. He knows all I have to do is get it out of my system. It's a wonder I didn't break
anything. Bless his heart, he offered to go to the local yarn shop and replace what was ruined. So, I made a list, gave him the pattern book, and will thank him for doing it.
I guess I need a bit of time off more than I thought.
Gotta get going for the day. Hope you all have a wonderful one.
Glad to see Aime back!

Okay, Susan, I think you and I have the same temper. Mine doesn't immerge very often. And thank goodness I live alone. I get soooo mad at myself sometimes..... and if my son is here when it hits.... Lordy....some good woman needs to snatch him up, he's a Saint.
Hope you get the yarn found and replaced.
Glad to see Aime back in the forefront. I feel an IM coming on to her.
Millie, how great to have a son home....those sons are priceless.
Nada going on here today, I don't think. Yesterday was DIL's b/d and I was a baaaaaad MIL. Today my son is giving her a surprise party with friends.... you noticed I said 'friends'. Went to friend's house last night for dinner. Had broccoli and chicken casserole. Glad I like broccoli and chicken. That's all she had. Was enough for me but I think she was afraid to cook anything else.... people... why do that think we can't eat? Today is jeans day at work..I leave for my last hurrah of half days today so I plan to make the most of it. Son is off work to Christmas shop today so hoping I can corral him and get him to 'carry' for me a little bit. I'm pretty much done when I don't want to go into a store. All I find is stuff for me anyway...:)
Everyone have a good day.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

morning everyone, I am so glad that it is Friday. But getting thru the day is going to be a challenge!! Start the day with an early morning meeting, then have to deal with auditors all day and then I will be preparing the yearly budget for the electric utility.
DH asked our oldest grandson if he wanted to spend the night tonight. Of course he said yes..........D is six, he is our oldest and only grandson. So, we will be going to a basketball game about thirty miles from here. We have two nephews who play high school ball and DH used to coach HS basketball and baseball, so there is my stressful full day!
All this lamenting about having a guy in our lives..........um, I would share mine! Don't get me wrong, I love him dearly and we have been thru hell and back, but I love being home alone......having the house stay clean, the way I left it !!! I get tired of cooking meals when I really don't want to eat, arguing about what to watch on TV, buying junk food that I know nether of us needs, having to plan my weekend around what he is doing........or MIGHT do!! So, the grass is always GREENER on the other side! I know if it were a permanent situation, I would miss it all, but somedays................
I think God (or at least my version of God) is looking at me, shaking his/her head, and thinking there is just NO pleasing that woman!!!
Well, better get moving, or I'll be late ...........
Hugs to all........V

Good Morning Millie and Friends,
It's dark rainy wet very blustery but a mild temps day here on Cape Cod. It was 60 when John left for work at 7.
I was on the desk at the museum yesterday, and today I'm supposed to be helping set up for the big bazaar on Sunday. Tomorrow we have a party to appear at as Mrs Santa and Elf Johnny in the afternoon. In the evening a gathering of friends for their usual holiday gtg-- food everywhere ,naturally. Then Sunday is the big Dennis Stroll . It's a yearly event almost every community does - the local merchants and community groups have a town "open house" sort of thing....it is from 12-4 pm . We'll be walking all over that day....many places will be giving small things out like ornaments and cookies, or little sprigs of mistletoe, the restaurants are all under one huge tent serving up tidbits of their specialties and there's a big container at the door for donations... which goes to local charities etc.We look forward to this event every year with great anticipation. The craft group I'm part of at the library has a very big bazaar and bake sale, it's our biggest fund raiser.
I saw my endocrinologist last week. He was happy with all my labs , but after some discussion about meds we are adding a new pill to my list.. Januvia. I've been on it for a week with no ill side effects. ( Knock on wood).
I'm going to be having the second arthroscopic on my right knee January 5 . I did the 6 day Medrol dose pack with nearly no effect. So this is the next step. We're hoping to buy me another 4-5 yrs , as total replacement is the next thing.
Our decorations are finally done, we still don't know what we're doing for Christmas - who is going where, who is cooking etc.... we may just do the same thing we've done the last 2 yrs... we went out to a Chinese restaurant for Xmas dinner !
George... I'm going to go back to find and add to your post about receiving my ornament as it arrived yesterday.
Take care, stay warm .... love well.

Happy Friday Millie and Everyone,
First, Aime....... thank you for checking in here and letting us know how you are doing. It's so good to "see" you once again. Hugs and prayers to you.
Good for you, Millie, to have your Christmas gifts all done. I took all my work gifts in yesterday. They are there at least in the office. Whew! I have a couple of things to finish and then..... bring it on!
I've still in full blown cold mode. Got the tea Eileen recommended and it's good. I'm glad to get this over with this week before Christmas. All it will take is time....... lots of extra fluid....... and time. It could be so much worse.
I'm off work today as I took Fridays off to the end of the year. The promise of rain this weekend so I'll run the errands today and be ready for some weather. Nothing else to share this morning except have a great Friday each and every one.
