What's New Wednesday 12/24/08?
Aloha Carla....what a wonderful surprise seeing you posting today!
I am so glad that you are home and comfy instead of in the hospital. You have so many friends right here cheering you on...I hope you can feel the love. Love is a powerful healer I've found, and so you should be good as new in no time.....***smile***
If I could I would give you a very gentle hug and a kiss on the cheek...so consider yourself hugged and kissed!!

I am like a kid when it comes to Christmas I love all of it. I get butterflys of excitement on my stomach and we had our family dinner and gift thing on Sunday, it isjust the season and the feeling of Gods peace and love. HA I thought with the family celebration early it would be a relaxing holiday. Yesterday I worked ,drove toLincoln to get my brother and baked until after midnight. Tonight I am having my foster daughter and her family over for dinner and gift opening. Their car is out of commission so I will have to do the transporting too. 2 babies with car seats so my car will be full was going to invite my mom and brother over but now no room. I did invite Chuck( when he called asking to borrow $$. I told him I was down to my last $10) but he said it was too cold. Tomorrow I will pick up mom & brother and we will find somewhere to go out for Christmas dinner, I would love to go to the casino buffett, but that is way to pricey, to morrow night I go to some of Chucks family for Christmas dinner and also Saturday. for a second Ithought Friday maybe clear but I will have to take brother home. I am off most of next week, will take down decorations decorate Liz's nursery and take foster grandbabies for a day or so. Good grief. Grrr My good mood just got beat on. Foster daughter just called. I took her over a check for $200 last night, they have nothing, so I thought it would be a nice surprise and they would have some money for Christmas. She just called me and said she can't cash the check cause she owes the bank money and they will take it. I got mad at her and told her that wasn't my problem. Her husband just got out of jail for being arrested for some kind of embezzlement, he talked his way out of it, things like this are always happening and he is always getting out of it. I keep a distance from them because of this kind of behavior, he when I do try to help ..never mind I am just ranting, I can not live other peoples lives. She had her first baby taken from her and quess who the state wanted to adopt it.. ME, I said no, I am too old to raise another child. Now I am afraid she is going to eventally lose these two and I don't think I could let thebaby go.. I am alone here at work and just talking out loud to myself. Think I will call Liz bye

Aloha beautiful Debbie...Your smile always makes me smile!! So gorgeous. Thanks for getting us started.
It's 7:30 a.m. here on Maui and a glorious, warm and wonderful Christmas Eve day. I'm doing laundry and am going to spend the day wrapping gifts and listening to holiday music.
A dear friend brought over a HUGE yule log cake that I'm going to take over to my friend who is fixing dinner tomorrow. I may have to have a bite of that puppy!! Bad Karen....but it IS Christmas, donchaknow!! Ha!
Today is three weeks since my panniculectomy (I LOVE to say that word!) and my incision is looking great. I just have some steri strips still across it, but they are slowly falling off during my shower and soon I'll be au naturale!! I've graduated to body shapers .... like a long legged soft girdle......instead of those damned binders which always either crawled up or flipped up from the botton. The body shapers are tight and do the same thing but stay put. My belly is a little poochy still, but flat and round...nothing hanging any longer. Yeah!! Sorta like I'm three months pregnant! I'm hoping that slowly that pooch will flatten out and I'll actually have a flat belly like I used to. I am so glad I had this surgery, and am thankful every day that it didn't cost me anything!! Not even cab fare, or plane fare to Honolulu....Kaiser paid that, too!!
With the crazy weather so many are having, I am just thanking my lucky stars to be here where it's warm (82 yesterday) and that I don't have any hectic plans. I HATE to travel over the holidays and this year would have been beyond a nightmare. My kids drove from Santa Cruz to Portland, and are all snugged in now thankfully and I'm glad they are safe and together. I wish I could wiggle my nose and magically just appear there for a few hours....sigh.
As I type I'm listening to the TV and they are saying MORE snow for Portland, so my kids will not be doing a lot of the things they planned. Too bad....after that long drive.
OK, my wonderful OFF friends....I'm going to go have breakfast on the lanai and if I'm lucky I'll see a couple whales doing their thing. I hope you all have a fabulous day, and I wish you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE AND DAY!

Hi Debbie & all. Sorry I am posting so late, but we just got home a while ago. We stopped & saw Eileen, she looks great! She may get out today or tomorrow. Said everything waqs good & will post when she gets home.
Talked to Carla too. She sounds tired, but I see she posted too.
I had a Drs. appt in Grand Rapids today. The blasting of my stone didn't work so surgery in January. At least he took the stint out!!! Yea! I feel better already.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas & if I didn't send you a card please forgive me. I tried & have been so busy. I still have a few gifts to make for the weekend..
Please, those of you who have to drive be careful & go slow. We saw so many red cars off the road today. Don't know why only red but they were.
