Happy New Year 2009!

Just turned to 2009 here in NW Ohio!  the fireworks went off!
Just checked the lottery numbers, I bought a special $20 ticket yesterday with 1/500,000 chance of winning something, yeah, well that went bust too!  I should have known.....
Mom and dad called and said they were going to go eat Chinese tonight and asked if I wanted to go, so I did even though I wasn't very hungry.  Gary went too, then we went back to parents house and played some cards.  Home by 10:30 and managed to stay awake till midnight anyway.
So what are your hopes and dreams for the new year?
I hope to lose about 20lbs
get a better handle on finances
A dream seems to be finding a soul mate
Would love to retire, but no chance of that
Guess I will stick with realistic, try to lose weight and get more active again and work on finances.  LOL!
I would love to travel and meet up with all the sisters and brothers of the OFF forum.  What a trip that would be!
So add your 2Cents for the new year, I may come up with more later!
hugs and love to you all!

Well it's not quite the New Year here, but seeing how I am still awake thought I'd go ahead and say it...Happy New Year!  The girls are almost asleep, and I hope to be asleep at 12:01..

They had a blast decorating the stove box and turning it into a playhouse/drive through restaurant.  They used lots of markers and stickers to decorate it.  Papa cut out windows and doors for them, they even drew on curtains.  We'll have to take pictures tomorrow.

My New Year hope is to carve out time for me and get back on track and start losing weight again.  The scale has been stuck for quite awhile but I know I have room for improvement in my meals.  I did get a power blender for Christmas and have started making a protein shake in the am, since I had been skipping breakfast for a couple weeks.  Amazing how easy old bad habits creep in.  I know I have been not getting enough protein in again so I figured the shake in the am would be an easy way to fix  that.

Again, Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year Debbie and everyone!

I can't believe I actually stayed up.
Lexi was bummed she forgot to blow her noise maker.    I laid down with the baby and finally got her to sleep about 11 and told Lexi not to let me fall asleep.

Sorry you didn't win with your lottery numbers!     I always hope to win but you have to play to win. lol

My hope and dreams for the new year are to get out of debt and for my family and friends to get healthy and be happy.  Of course I would also wish to lose these last few pounds and find the money for plastics.

Who knows Ms Debbie I could be driving you around again to meet up with all the sisters and brothers!

Hope we all have a great 2009!

Melissa

HAPPY NEW YEAR !! it is almost an hour old here. I spent much of the day painting nursery at Liz's house, then lunch with mom, daughter, and grandaughter, we laughted and laughted stayed home tonight with grandson putting away Christmas decorations, then picked up Faith from work and made a fondou with lots of fruits. Kisa thought that was big fun. They are already asleep. This year I want to lose 30 pounds and do some writting. Blessings

I've had an exciting New Year's Eve.  The city set off fireworks downtown, which is where I live.  I didn't know that this was going to happen and and when I heard the first "bangs" started looking out my windows for someone who was shooting a gun - it's never happened here, but hey, you know there's always a first time.  My 110 lb German shepherd had never, apparently, heard fireworks before, and he decided that he needed to run outside - right through the front door!  We both calmed down and enjoyed the rest of the evening.

My wish for the new year for myself is for good health and weight loss surgery.  My energy is depleted and  I think that carrying around 90 fewer pounds would help a lot.  My wish is also for peace in the countries where peace seems nothing more than a dream - you can fill in your own choices of countries here - there are so many to choose from.
Today, Jan 1, I will try to finish some of the projects that I planned to do on my two weeks off.  I got very little done that I had planned on doing and instead knitted and watched TV - and slept to try to catch up from last semester.  I wish that I could "bank" some sleep for the upcoming term - it will be a doozy.
Happy New Year to my OFF sisters and brothers; it's been a pleasure getting to know you this year.

Happy New Year Debbie to you and all my OFF friends!
My DH and I went to our daughter and son-in-laws for New Year's Eve.  Our daughter had RNY on 12/1.   So my daughter, my husband and I together only ate enough for 1 person!
We had a lovely time. We watched the ball drop on TV, toasted with just a drop of champagne and went home in the snow and ice.

Happy New Year's Debbie and all othe OFFers, lurkers and posters alike.  Hope the year is a good one for you and yours.

This year, as most others in my household is planned out.  We plan on going to Las Vegas at the end of May.  On June 3 there is a high school graduation in California that we intend to attend.  Returning in time for our nephew's graduation on June 5.

We plan to attend the RYD Obesity Conference, which is still in the planning stages, but is scheduled for March or April in Dallas.

We plan to attend our normal fare of 40-50 Texas Rangers baseball games.

We plan to become partial season ticket holders for the Dallas Stars hockey team.

We plan to continue with our success as a result of WLS.

We plan to work out more at the gym this year.

We plan to continue with our love for each other and our family.

Hello all,
Up here in the frigid Alaskan Interior (it's currently 49 below zero here)we still have another hour and a half till 2009 and I am at work. I get off in a half hour so I will be home before all the crazies get back on the roads after midnight!!
I had set a Christmas goal of being under 200 pounds and missed that by 12 pounds so I set the same goal for New Years. I guess I should have known I wouldn't lose 12 pounds in a week, but I did lose 7. So I sit here at 205 and was feeling a bit bummed. Then I got out my measurements from the day before surgery (10/23) and the ones I took Christmas day. I didn't have time to compare them until tonight and although I didn't make my mini goals poundwise, I have lost 37 pounds and 37 TOTAL INCHES!!!!!!! WOO HOO am I so totally NOT bummed now!
My main dreams for 2009 are:
1. to make my goal of 140 by June and
2. to sell our house here in Alaska so I can join my husband in Tucson.
Hope everyone is safe and happy tonight.......God's blessings for everyone and thier families in the New Year!!!
Denise

Just wanted to make a couple of quick comments.

First, thank you everyone for accepting me and treating me like family.  I so much enjoy coming to this forum.  My only wish is that the men would get more active.  But not all of them are as fortunate as I am, with having the internet at work, letting me post while I work.

Judy - over 16% of the NFL coaches have been fired already.  And Wade Phillips is still the Cowboys coach.  Go figure.

Laureen - Did you go to Times Square?  Or was it just too cold? I talked to my sister (she lives on Long Island) earlier and she said it was supposed to go down to 16 degrees.  I think I might opt to be at home for that.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
