Happy New Year 2009!

Hi Debbie and my OFF family:

It's gray and gloomy in West Michigan; so what else is new? I'm not feeling too badly; my leg is still swollen but not as much as yesterday (or at least I think so). Some of my pain is from my lower back ... a pinched nerve in my butt or something. That's aggravating my knee, too. Last night it was really painful; I was in tears. I took a vicodin and went to bed; lying down flat on the heating pad helped a lot. But this morning, it's back. I tried ice yesterday and that didn't help; I think I'll go back to the heating pad today.

I miss having Brenda here but I'm glad she's home safely and back with her family; I know she missed them.

My wishes for 2009: to be painfree; to have a secure job and to have a healthy cat, Diva. Those were my Christmas wishes too. Oh, and to be a little bit better financially. I know I waste a lot of money; I need to squander less and save more. I don't know what the future holds for the newspaper industry, but I'm sure it's not good. I need to think about my future and what I want to do with it. I can't retire for many years.

Anyway, I should get off and get my knee back up. Have a good day.

Today is just another day for me. We went to Downtown Sarasota for 1st night and watched the Pineapple drop. It sure was a pathetic looking thing.
We didnt get home till 0230 am. We were dancing in the street and their were a ton of people.
We went to a Tapas restaurant for Dinner and it was fun.
Today Im just taking Lily to 4 bucks this afternoon when she gets up from her nap.
I go to the oncologist on Monday and that cant come soon enough. I want to buy a ticket to come to Denver for about 2 weeks. But I wont buy a ticket till after I see the doc.

Had you in my morning thoughts sweet women. John and I fell asleep before midnight. Such a fun couple we are. Sara and the Gkids slept over at the party they went to and got home around 10:30 this morning. John made eggs, ham, and bacon with lots of great toast from a loaf of bread from Panera's. Quiet day, keeping warm and happy.

PS we fly out to Orlando on 01/20. Got to get over to the RV and get me my summer clothes as I am now wearing 3-4 layers of stuff each day cause it is so cold here. To think I lived in the NE for 60 years. We had a pellet stove in our home and I sure miss it here at my daughters house. BRRRR

Had a fun time last evening, ended up winning the prize for having won the most euchre games....came home around 9:45, got ready for bed and watched TV until 11:45, then got into bed and watched the ball drop....Happy 2009!

This morning I slept in, then went out to breakfast and stopped at Wal Mart for a few items...then it was home to start cleaning up the Christmas decorations.....OMG it took me most of the day, but it's done and put away for another year.  I put a turkey in the oven to bake and the house sure smelled good.....will cut it up tomorrow and put into smaller pkgs and freeze a lot of it.

Enjoyed the rose parade while I was working.....my toe is hurting some today, so that didn't help, and it's still draining some.

Off to Three Rivers and K'zoo tomorrow morning to return the electric fireplace that I bought that now doesn't work....and to music store in K'zoo for new book for one of my piano students.  Have haircut appt. at 2 pm....sometime this weekend I want to go to the movies.

My new support group meets Monday nite, Jan. 5th...anxious to see how many show up.
