Had it been me with the picture, I may have insisted.  But then they'd have to figure a way to add in the vulnerablity that Brad shows, in his acting at least.  I think that makes him more attractive to me than his kick-a** looks.  Maybe.  Sort of.....

I think you did fine with the one you have, pretty face or not.  He sounds like a real keeper.

A girl can dream, though.....

Good morning Candy and all.

Have not read anything since midnight or so last night.  Will read later.  Just jumping on as I am on my way out the door to work.

After work last night did 8 1/4 miles on the recumbent bike.  Then hot tub and sauna.  Felt good.  Going again right after work today.  I will be back later.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good morning to you, Candy and my other offer's. I hope that everyone stays warmer today and that includes me too. I am always cold now but if you ask me losing the weight is better than being warm. ha ha  I can always huddle under blankets and such and being thinner I have more of the blanket to huddle under. Life is good there.

The sun is out this morning but it is still fairly early here. It is just going on 8 so it is still lighting up outside. I love days with the sunny brightness so I think  I will be happy today. Life is good there too.

We are going to the apartment complex that we went to yesterday to see an apartment. I looked on renters. com and saw both of the 2 bedroom layouts and there is one that is bigger and I WANT THAT ONE! I like lots of room. But if the other one is the one that I am thinking of that one isn't to bad either. I think that anything is going to be bigger than the one I have now. ha ha  I really miss having more room. I think having the extra bedroom is going to be helpful too. At least we are going to be able to have somewhere to put a guest so that is going to be a good thing too.

I have to buy a pie (my secret ingredient to baking~so take note girls!) and take it to the church for Mildred's son's funeral. I know that I talked to you about Mildred who is our 91 year old organist at church. She is one of my best friends and is so much like a mother to me all rolled up into one person. Her son who was 59 had headaches and went to the doctor. He gave him medicine for migraines and then Donald went and told him that it didn't help. He did tests and found like 9 brain tumors with 3 or 4 of them being massive. He started radiation the next day. He was doing better and then got diarrhea and went in to the hospital for a scope. They found an ulcer and said that was the whole cause for the diarrhea. He opened his gifts from his daughter from TN and then settled down to take a nap. He crossed his ankles just like always closed his eyes and went to sleep. He passed in his sleep. The nurses and the doctors were shocked. The nurses said that was the most peaceful passing they ever seen. The wake is this morning from 11 to 1 and the funeral is at 1. Bill and I are going since I am so close to Mildred. I know that she is doing well now but when she gets to the funeral home this morning it is really going to hit her. I am really concerned about her. Please keep her in your prayers if you are a praying kind of person. She is going to be lost without him.

Bill and I are meeting Rick and Ella tonight and exchange gifts (we have never been this late!) and then we are going to go out for dinner. I am not sure where we are going since Ella and I haven't figured it out. You know guys..........leave it to the ladies. Or in this case it could be leave it to the best eaters. But both us have lost weight. Ella has been going to WW and has done fantastic losing almost 100 pounds herself. So life is good there too.

I guess with life being so good this morning I should go. I am going on and on and so it is time for all my bruthas and sistahs to wake up and go on to the people who post after me.

I am sending love and hugs to all and special prayers are going up for everyone. Remember to keep smiling and put one foot in front of the other to get to where you are going. Stay warm or at least give it your best try!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Good morning, all.  Brenda, that's so sad about Mildred's son.  I don't care how old you get - losing a child is the worse thing in the world.  It pretty much changes your life forever after.  Well, about that Brad Pitt cutie.  If you haven't seen "Burn After Reading" you should rent it - it's a Cohen Bros. movie and is one of those "dark" comedies and Brad Pitt is the goofiest I've ever seen him in that!  We watched it a couple of nights ago.  The movie was so-so, but I got to look at George Clooney and Brad, so not all bad!

Heading to my sister's lake house at Barren River today for an overnight.  They just completed it over the summer and Bill's never seen it, so we thought we'd take a road trip.  Need to get back tomorrow before 4:00 to see U of L / UK basketball game.  For those of you who don't know, that's THE big game for us locals!  GO CARDS!  And, you probably do know that in Kentucky, basketball is king!  Personally, I like college football better, but U of L has had a couple of bad years, so I'm glad basketball is here!

Not too cold here - about 45 this morning.  Supposed to rain this afternoon/night.  Personally, I'd rather have at least ONE good snowfall.  That's it - just ONE!

Have a great day everyone!

Morning Candy and all....
Just finishing up cleaning house and doing the dusting so sat down at the computer to do that and couldn't resist getting on OFF.....

Waiting for a phone call to see if we have to do a funeral dinner tomorrow afternoon.  The 25 yr. old daughter of a friend from church passed away in her sleep early yesterday morning.....she had juvenile diabetes and was blind.....so say some prayers for my friend Carolyn and her family at this very sad time.

Not much on the agenda this weekend.....church tomorrow morning if the freezing rain doesn't turn the streets to ice.....and our book club Christmas dinner at 5 p.m. and we will watch "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" movie....looking forward to that.  Has anyone seen the new Brad Pitt movie, Benjamin Button????

Better get busy now....have a happy and safe weekend.

Hugs,
Pat R.

DH and I saw the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button"  Tuesday.  It was really good.  Very long and sorta slow going, but really good.  He plays Benjamin through all his adult ages.  This was possible not with make-up but some fancy computer thing.  If you are a Brad pit junkie it is a must see.  If not it is still more than worth it.

Good morning Candy and all,

I was up at 4:30am, like usual, read some OH, went back to bed. It is -3 here and snow is high as an elephants eye...well, my eye anyhow.

Going to go shopping with Beth, and get groceries. I hate having to go out in this but...

Went scrapbooking last night. Two car accidents right in front of the store while we scrapped. It is very slick on the roads here.

Tom has been working on the bedroom, so maybe by summer it will be done. He also mentioned that he was going to put some shelves back up in the basement that he tore down while working on bedroom...I sure hope so, then I can straighten up the basement again and not have piles of boxes and junk everywhere. I would put them up myself, but not a good builder guy am I.

Well, take care all,
Cheryl

Hi Candy and my OFF family:

Candy, I love "A River Runs Through It." I lived not far from there in Montana, and the movie reminds me of all that is good and wild about Montana, my favorite state. I love the rivers and mountains of Montana. I love Norman MacLean's words ... they are so elegant. I love hearing Robert Redford speak them in the narrative. Yeah, and Brad Pitt ain't so bad to look at it, either.

I think it's cold out, but I haven't been outside since Christmas Day. My friend Gayle came over yesterday with my mail, prescriptions and some stuff from Walgreens I needed for my knee ... my bandages that the hospital provided were out, and I asked her to see if she could find more of them at Walgreens. She couldn't, so she got some gauze bandages and tape. That'll do until I see the doctor on Thursday. He promises to give me in writing everything he did ... with photos ... so maybe I'll post on my profile. I love detailed reports of my surgery!

Had a rough night last night sleeping. Got up three times, twice to take pain pills. Would have taken a third one, but it was too close to do so. Damn, I don't like to take so many pain pills, but when I'm in pain, I will. At one point, I was in so much pain again, I was crying, and Scooter cuddled up to me and started purring ... such a nice comforter he is!

Today, it's football and spaghetti night ... pulled out some spaghetti sauce I made awhile back out of the freezer yesterday. It's nearly defrosted now, so I'll make some whole wheat pasta and salad and have a spaghetti dinner while I watch the NFL playoff games. Something to look forward to. I've been eaing a lot of crap lately ... I need to eat better meals! Gayle and I were talking last night ... she praised me for keeping off the weight I lost through surgery and said I'm the only one at work who had the surgery and didn't regain my weight. I said it takes a lot of work to keep it off ... and sometimes I know I slip and eat stuff I shouldn't eat because nothing bothers my pouch. You guys keep me honest and faithful to my tool. If I didn't come here daily, I probably would have reverted to my old self a long time ago. I thank God daily for my OFF family. It's so easy to slip into bad habits ... especially after my knee surgery when I can't do much exercise other than the little bit of PT I'm doing.

Well, I've sat at this computer long enough, I think. I want to go to the Kodak site and order some photos (I got some of the Frankenmuth photos I ordered wet when I knocked over my water the other day). Anyway, everyone have a nice day.
