Ok here is the Nitty Griutty of what they are going to do about the thyroid Cancer.
1stof all my trip to Denver is being postponed till the end of February or so. I wanted to go there badly but Ill wait.
I have to have more blood work done on Thursday. They cant give me the Iodine Radiation Pill till my Thyroid levels have depleted. Should be 2 to 3 weeks. I then take the pill and go into the hospital for 2 4 days. They have to monitor the radiation that is being expelled from the body. I ll be toxic so cant be around anyone or pets.
this should kill any cancer cell that are lingering in my body.
They still think I have the lessof of all evils. Still dont have the pathology back from Gainesville.
I wont be able to work probably till June.

Carla,
Thanks for letting us know how things are going for you. A friend of mine had the same treatment over 10 years ago and did very well and is still fine today. She hated the days in the hospital without visitors though. We both worked in the same hospital back then and she wanted everyone to visit her.
Lora has been asking about you so I'll give her a call and let her know. Keep your spirits up.

Carla thank you for sharing this journey with us. Some much love and energy to you...remember you are not on this path alone. I hope I wasn't being pushy with you asking about the oncology app results, just didn't want you to feel alone. Many here are walking besides you.
Hugs, Monica

Carla,

I am wishing that you will be cancer free before too long!

Hugs, Laureen

Carla, the good news is that thyroid cancer is easily treated.  I've had a friend and a sister who were treated for thryoid cancer.  My friend had surgery and my sister had the radioactive iodine.  Both are over 20 years post treatment.

As difficult as hearing you have cancer, it must be good to know there is a plan of action.  Cancer is beatable today.  We all have stories of friends/relatives that are cancer survivors.  My thoughts are with you.  You;ll be in Denver before you know it.
