Gee it only 7:53 and there are already 13 posts.  I haven't read them yet.  If I do I won't get done before the workmen come.  I'm switching alarm companies and instead of just taking over they have to put in all new equipment.  I think if it is not inside the walls its going to go and be replaced.  oh well at least it will be over at the end of the day.  Now I can look forward to DH forgetting that the alarm is set and setting it off at 5:30 a.m.  Of course after I peal myself off the ceiling I have to wait for the company call to tell them that the dear man forgets even though I put a full sheet of poster board on the door saying  TURN OFF ALARM.  I can't wait.

Was rainy and cold yesterday so I did not get my riding lesson.  Rescheduled for tomorrow.

Hypnosis report:  I told the therapist that in addition to not sleeping I was grazing and gradually adding weight instead of losing the last 30 pounds.  He said he could address that also.

Good news:  I am no longer grazing at night or in the day.  My head hunger is pretty much gone.  I have dropped 3 pounds.

Bad news:  still not sleeping.  He said I could also try eating about 2 oz of turkey 30 minutes before bed.  The only natural no side affect remedy for insomnia is triptomine (SP?)  It can not be found as a supplement but occurs naturally in fowl, especially turkey.  (not the processed stuff in thee deli but the kind you cook yourself.)  I bought a turkey breast, roasted it and put in baggies in the freezer.  A couple of minutes in the microwave and it is done.  So far not much help.   I have another session Monday and then a tape to listen to daily.  Will wait and see.

RLS:  I just read an article in a magazine that  stated magnesium is good for RLS.  400 mg before bed.  If you wake take another 200 mg.  Don't know if it works but it is supposed to calm muscles.

Sunny day here today.  Should be the same tomorrow then more rain.  Temps are still going up and down like a roller coaster.

Have a good day everyone.

Linda, I'd sure like to find a solution for sleeplessness and restless legs also. I'll be following your progress and hoping that you find some long term solutions. The Mirapex that I have taken for several years is so expensive. I take 1/2 of a pill (.75 mg) and that has worked well until lately. Each evening I am up walking and walking. Can't even sit and watch tv for an hour or two. I will give the magnesium a try. Can't hurt. I know that listening to instrumental CDs right before I try to go to sleep helps. I fall asleep easily just don't stay asleep more than an hour or two.

Good morning Karen and everyone.......

Karen...you better tie a rope to your waist so you don't blow away with Maggie!!!! If you do blow away I hope you land here in MN!!!!

Linda S.......I am so sorry for your loss. I am here whenever you need me.

My work load has been so light the last few weeks I feel guilty getting paid. Never fear....this lull won't last!!

Decided today is the day for me to go in and renew my drivers license. The pic doesn't look anything like me anymore. I have to go pay for tax and license on my new car anyway. I finally got the paperwork from Iowa yesterday.

I need to make a run to Walmart. I am out of Pure Protein Bars. I like to keep those on hand. Plus I need cleaning supplies and such.

As you can see nothing exciting happening with me. Hope you are all doing well. Have a great day!!!!

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

I finally get a new license this year also! Can't wait. My picture is pre WLS. I look like Ozzie Osborne in the picture. REally! It is that bad. I got a new passport and didn't want to pay to have a license so I waited until it was due on my birthday this year. Since we've moved I need to not forget as I may not get the renewal form in the mail.

Life has slowed down here a bit too. That's a good thing. I need a breather. Had a blind company come over yesterday. I was prepared to get estimates and then order on line. This man was excellent and the bid was very reasonable so we ordered on the spot. We ordered the faux wood blinds for the 3 bedrooms and the bonus room. They'll come in 2 weeks and they'll install them. Down with the paper temporaries! Don't plan to put anythig on the front windows unless the heat gets to us in the summer. We put a light tint on them so hopefully it won't. Man, do I digress!

Hi, Karen:

Last year we had 106 mph winds one night.  I didn't sleep all night.  It sounded like the wind was going to take the roof completely off.  I admit that I hadn't thought of having high winds living here, on the coast.  But, we get some huge storms come through.  It's my least favorite thing about living here.

Hope you didn't sustain too much damage.  The fence is enough -- huh?

Hope everyone has a good day today.

I make a different version of it these days.  It has several different kinds of beans in it, salsa, bbq sauce, onion.  I add cooked ground turkey mean for added protein.

It's good to see you on OFF.  I just read your separate post about THE inauguration.  I am so happy that you get attend.

Are you still making cheese?

Hi Karen and my OFF family:

It's snowing here. We haven't had snow for awhile and the ground was pretty bare after the thunderstorms we had after Christmas. But I don't have to drive in it, so that's good. I think we got a couple of inches overnight.

The physical therapist was here already today. She's pleased with my movement. I had a rough night sleeping. I kept having this burning sensation underneath my leg ... I couldn't pinpoint the area to her in words, but I pointed it out, and she said it was my hamstring ... when she touched it and started massaging, I could feel it was all balled up. Wow, it hurt! She said maybe when I have it straightened up in bed, it flares up and burns. I kept getting up and putting an ice pack on it, then taking another vicodin to calm the pain. Boy, it was unbearable at times. And at top of that, I kept getting up to eat too, which I never do. I am not a midnight grazer (well, I eat at night when I'm working, but not after I go to bed). This is not a good habit! Need to break it! Don't know why I'm doing it, other than the fact I'm going to the freezer to get the ice pack and then getting food while I sit up to get rid of the pain (because I'm in pain, I take the pain pill, I read for awhile to calm myself down, then I eat ... sometimes it's healthy, like cheese or turkey ... last night it was chocolate covered pretzels ... they're gone now!).

I go back to the doctor tomorrow morning ... my coworker Kim, who used to be my night partner, is taking me. I hope she'll take me to Meijer, too, because there are some things on sale I want to pick up. Plus some things I need and it's easier to get them myself than to explain to someone what I want. If she doesn't have time to do this, Meijer does have a personal shopper program at the one location near my doctor ... it's only $5 extra ... I could do it online and then we could swing by and pick it up on the way home after the appointment.

Here's my cat calendar quote of the day: "Cats speak a language in which few sounds carry as many meanings, depending on how they are sung or purred. 'Mnrhnh' means comfortable soft chairs. It also means fi**** means congenial compansionhip ... and the absence of dogs." -- Val Schaffner. Annette, I thought you'd enjoy that.

Well, I need a shower! It'll be nice to get these TED hose off my legs ... they cut off my circulation on my thighs. Very uncomfortable, but I know they are helping to bring down my swelling, too. But I have so much excess fat and tissue around my thighs, more than in my calves, so this makes these stockings uncomfortable.

Well, have a good day. See ya tomorrow, probably later.
