George, Hope you're feeling better.  Be careful about that thinking too much. I can make myself physically ill be "rewinding" stuff over and over. Do what you can do about a situation and then move on. Good advice. . . I need to take it myself.

I new day and a nasty on at that here in New England Some people here still have no electric going on 5 weeks now

To day is a new day for us on the board we will help each other be there for anything that comes up please just ask if you need a answer on question is stupid  ( only our answers sometimes LOL)

What DO people do for 5 weeks without power? I can't  even imagine it. We've had a couple of times where ours was out for a few hours but that's all. I think I'd have a wood stove and a generator or a windmill. I hate being cold even more so since WLS.

My neiborhood was out of power for 3 days this fall due to winds from a hurricane (blew through Ohio). Some areas were out for up to 10 days. The neighbors had a generator. I managed to get by with candles and fortunately it was not too hot so I managed without AC. I also have a gas stove so I was able to heat soup and cook. Stores were out of ice! It was bad! I can't imagine being without heat in the winter!

haha ... I decided to start a "strict regimen" with water ... and I am up 2 pounds!!! I wish I could walk but my foot (plantar faciatis) has me grounded.

    It's only me sticking my nose in for a few minutes.
I'm so behind in what's been happening to everyone , you'd think I'd been gone on a long trip.
  The holidays had me reeling between all the pies I have my fingers in and now I'm recouping from my knee 'scope. It went well I guess, I'll see the Dr next Tuesday and get the whole story including the pictures etc. It felt great on Monday- no pain at all, until the anesthetic wore off about 6 hours later that he'd injected. So now it's ice packs , exercises for it and rest. Borrrring....
  I had a very nice visit with Floyd last night and he tells me Brenda is progressing , I see George is hospitalized , and Carla is beginning her recovery and that's as far as I've gotten in catching up with everyone.
  John and I began a 6 week course through our health insurance called Health Improvement Program, meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays, the first one was last night.It looks promising....so far.
  Today we woke to freezing rain and it's warming just enough for it to become regular rain but the forecasts are for heavy downpours. Yuck....
  Today is the Garden Club 's monthly meeting, I arranged a ride today, normally I'd walk there as it's only about 3/4 mile away.
  Well ,I've sat here long enough for now, & I'll check back in later.

Joyce, It's so good to see you. I still smile thinking of our van ride in Dallas. Dorothy and her drilling description and your side comments. I don't often laugh til I cry, but I sure did that day.

Hey Karen,

I went to bed early last night because the weather here had taken a turn for the worse.  Today, though, it is quiet.  Oh do keep the baby on the leash.  We had a huge chow and when my son was eight or nine, it snowed and the roads slicked over and Brutus, the dog, needed to go for his daily walk. My son put the leash on and off they went.  I was standing at the door watching and the dog, who loved the snow, took off running dragging my son behind.  It was truly a sight to see.  After that, my son and I both walked the dog.  Hope everyone has a productive day and succeeds in eating healthy and moving.

Good morning, Karen and my OFF family. I am so glad to see that everyone seems to be getting through the weather they are getting. It is kind of snowy here but right now it is doing nothing at all. I hope it stays that way. But who wants to bet it won't?

I have some running around to do today. I don't really want to do it but I don't see much of a choice. I just sat here yesterday doing not much of anything so I must catch up with that slacking. It felt good though. Some days it is good to be couch potato.

I must go to the office to get a book, get some groceries and go to Wal Mart and K Mart to return some things from Christmas. I know........I am late in getting that done. I just put it off and now I MUST do it. Before you know it Christmas of 09 is going to be here. You all know how fast the years go by.

I guess we are not going to move this year. I found out our lease comes up sooner than I thought, I told Bill that there is no way I am going to be able to come up with all that money in that short of time. So I was told by the office that the rent is going up only $15 for this year. That tells me that I have been paying for some of the rent increase over this past 2 years. Since I know for a fact that the rent has gone up more than $15 in 2 years. It kind of makes me angry that I have paid for a increase for 2 years instead of the one. What is wrong with this picture here folks? So needless to say I would never sign another 2 year lease with this place. Like I am going to anyway. Yeah right! I am thinking that I am just going to run through one more year and then my plan is to save during the year and move in 2010. I hope that it works out like my plans are. But we all know that sometimes the best made plans are just that......plans. I shall keep working on it and maybe that will make it successful. I sure hope so.
