I'm sort of hesitant to post this question ...

because someone is going to say CALL YOUR DOCTOR.  Well, before you do that, I know I have this information at home, but I'm out of town right now.

I know we should get 70 grams of protein a day, limit our sugars per serving to 7 grams or less, have only 100 grams of carbs per day, but what is the recommended number of fat grams per day?   I was thinking 20, but I'm not sure.

If you know, please let me know - otherwise, I'll look it up tomorrow when I get home.  Thanks!

I for one fill up on my protein. I don't worry about the other things. I do know that i need 10% of my stuff to be fats for my Vits ADEK.

I do 120 grams protein (supplemented )
no sugar
no milk
I try to stay away from white.

Hope this helps....

no, its a good question.  I see so many who focus on fgats and sugars and stuff plus the protien levels.

My surgeon told me,                                           "to keep it easy is to keep it do-able."

I focus on PROTEIN, like Darlene does.

If it's FATTY or SUGARY foods, naturally we avoid that.  Some of us dump on such stuff. Some of us can tolerate small amounts and not dump.  Some of us never dump.

If you keep the protein levels high, and use common sense woth fats and sugars, youre on the right track *s*

The guidelines where I had my surgery was no more than 39 grams of fat per day, no more than 10 per meal, just be careful cause I know when I have something that is too high in fat, just put it this way, you want the wind to be blowing in any direction than the one you are standing in. . .

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

I try to focus on protein and vegetables.  Can't say I am always consistent with this, but know it is the way for me to go.  The surgeon told me not to worry about the fat if I stay on this plan and just be sure to take my vitamins and calcium.

Everyone is different. I went to Barix and we were given specific individual guidelines for these items.
