I don't know if you are limited due to the surgery.  If not, mention the problem to the doctor (or to a pharmacist) and ask for a recommendation.  I'm not sure if some antibiotics are better for people who are prone to yeast infections.  Plus, I have heard that yogurt is a good thing to eat to guard against them.

Good luck,

Alot of antibotics cause yeast infections.  I was on clyndimyicin and got one.
I am now on Keflex and got one.  I think if your prone to yeast infections alot of antibiotics will cause one.

Maybe I am wrong but I seem to get one no matter what.

Hi Judy,

Seen your post, one thing to help with yeast infection from antibiotics is to eat yogart.  I usually consume 2-3 cartons a day when I take antibiotics.  Make sure they have active yogart cultures.  It helps alot.

I learned long ago that when I have to take an antibiotic, I ask for a prescription for Diflucan at the same time.  There is no antibiotic that doesn't leave you with a yeast infection.  You can buy OTC yeast treatments, but they are spendy.  If you have good insurance, it's far easier to take a pill.

Sadly, all antibiotics get rid of all the good and bad bacteria, and usually leave you with a yeast infection.  You can try eating yogurt during the course of antibiotics, and maybe prevent one, but for me it's inevitable.  Good luck.
