And then there were 3 of each

So, I get this e mail today.  A co worker has a friend who was taking care of a lady that passed away last night.  Said lady had a dog.  Did I know anyone who could take said dog in until a new home is found for it?  Can you see where this is going?  Yep, he is here with me, just arrived.  I heard he was a Cairn Terrier, well his is part Cairn I guess but something bigger too because he is much taller then I expected!  He is 8 years old and that age fits right in with my 2.  Now 3 cats and 3 dogs.  Hopefully Sassy will get adopted but I am not holding my breath.  His age is against him for one thing and in today's economy, I just think people are not going to take on the added responsability and financial cost of a dog too rapidly.  But, who knows???  He and Daphne are getting along, of course Angus has not met him yet.  Seems like a nice boy and has had his life turned upside down in the past few months it sounds like.  I will put his picture up on our website soon and hopefully someone will adopt him thru me.
My only other news is that I have SUCKER blazing across my forehead in neon lights......and I restarted Cardiac Rehab this week to get exercise because I keep gaining!  If I am eating more I need to exercise too so I feel the burn let me tell you!  This too shall get better.
have a great evening!

Debbie,
You are a good person to take this doggy in. Just like people he has had his life turned upside down and probably can't figure out why. Hopefully you will find him a good home unless you fall in love and can't part with him.
My Mom had a cat that only came out from under the couch for her and once in a while for her neighbor. If I didn't see the cat hair on the floor I wouldn't have believed she even had a cat.
In her will she wanted her neighbor to have "Baby". Her neighbor already had 8 cats and 3 dogs but like you she couldn't turn Baby down. It did take us almost a month to catch Baby and take her to her new home. She thought she was hiding under the blankets on the bed so we just scooped up her and the blankets to transport her to her new home.
It has taken her a long time to adjust since she was never around other people or cats and she does have her crazy moments but she is being cared for.
The neighbor did say jokingly that she isn't going to befriend anymore elderly people with pets anymore.
Keep up the good work.

I used to do this with cats. It's how I ended up with five when I lived in Montana. Then I got a new job and knew I couldn't move with five cats, so I had to give up three ... and that was way too hard. After that, I vowed never to have more than two again ... then I met Diva. Now Diva's back at the shelter and I'm down to just two again. With the way the job market is going, I will not look at another cat!

But you're a good person for taking in another furbaby. Look at it this way, you can take the dogs for a walk and get lots of exercise that way.

Good for you. Not sucker.  I am the same way.  I would take every single orphaned pet around, if I weren't gone all the time.  My cousin fosters dogs and when I need a puppy fix, I head to her house.  You, my friend, are a good person.

Debbie ~

Good for you! He needed a warming loving home after the past months. Sounds like he found just the right spot.

You have a heart of gold....that is so nice of you to care for that dog. The poor thing has had enough trama in its life and needs someone like you who will take good care of him.
