It's Thursday here! What's new?

I know. I pop in and pop out sporadically lately. Seems like I am battling winter(life) blues big time this year. I know hidig from my "family" isn't the way to dealwith things either. It is so hard not to at times.
I am recovering from a nasty stomach virus. I think I caught it from N's family Saturday. We gathered to celebrate what would have been her 21st birthday. It was nice. I have some pics of LP cutting her cake. He loved eating it also.
I think I needed to gt past this birthday as I had promised her for years that I would take her out for her 21st. I really felt as if I had let her down. I know that isn't rational, but emotions often aren't.
I was wondering something. Has anyone else noticed that stomach related illnesse**** them hard? Everyone else I know that caught this bug rallied in a day. It took me at least 2 days if not 3. I became very dehydrated from living in

Anyway..... life goes on...

The love of my OH Family has me humbled!!!!
Good morning, all.
Nancy, congratulations on the not smoking. I was never a smoker, but my Mom, Dad, Sis, and husband all were. Our son still is. I watched all of them go through withdrawals. This happened to my DH: After 10 years of not smoking, we were walking through a casino in Vegas. My DH pats his chest a few times, then stops walking. I ask if he is OK, he said "I was reaching for my cigarettes!" The smell of cigarette smoke had triggered something!
It is chilly here again today. And will be a few more days. It's been a strange winter here, way cold one week, way hot the next. That's OK, I am snug in my house. But my electric bill was $186, last month!
My DH finally has another date for his lap band. It will be March 5th. He goes back up there Feb 13th for ANOTHER history and physical. All those tests have to be done within 30 days of surgery (EKG, blood work, chest x-ray, etc). Thank GOD Medicare and Tri-Care for Life pay for all this! At that time they will also do a re-check on his gall bladder surgery (did you see the size of his gall stone in my pictures?!?). And depending on what his weight is, tell him if he has to do the 2 weeks of liquids again, or just 1 week, or something else!
Before his surgery I'm gonna scoot on down to Texas to visit my Momma. She has been having some health problems. (Weight gain, swelling legs and ankles, shortness of breath, rising blood pressure). Her PCP thinks a lot of it is related to depression, which she will NOT admit to having. Daddy died last May, and the holidays were very hard for her. Also, Dad always took care of EVERYTHING, and any little bump in her road sends her blood pressure way up, and gets her all 'jangly'. So the thought of getting tax stuff together and doing something with it all, is causing her MUCH anxiety. I wish she lived closer!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Yes, it's 3:30 a.m. and I'm starting my day once again. The rain has not started yet here but the temp feels warmer. That means the clouds are up there and keeping the "city" heat trapped for warmth. We'll see when the sun comes up.
I finished crocheting a scarf and started a new one. Not liking the pattern I'm developing and keep ripping out. Not sure if I've burned myself out for a bit or not. I think I'll put it away for a few days. Gee, that would leave me time to clean house........ darn!
Nothing else to share today. I've decided I need to go back to very strict control on the food I eat so today is the start for that. I'm going to take a nice long walk at lunch, too. If it's raining, the walk will be indoors through the hospital.
Hugs and good thoughts for all.

Have read some verses (Yes, George, I am still behind. But at least I am reading which is a great improvement! I am still chipping away at it.), walked on treadmill and had breakfast. Feel much better now. I felt so groggy this morning when I first got up. Think I need to increase the water intake again I slept a total of 10 hours yesterday and don't feel depressed, just worn out.
To all you readers: Have you read the book "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young? I recommend it.
Cooking a small turkey breast later today and will get several meals out of that.
Also have my 2nd yoga class at 4:30. I really enjoyed it last week.
Other than that it is work at the office and probably make a home visit.
Everyone have a good day!

Good Morning,
Just a quick pop in. We're headed out of town to Erin's this morning. Twin sitting duty this weekend while Mom and Dad take a much needed 2 night R and R. Still fighting sinus infection. Two days of antibiotics and now the throat is sore.
My cousin wrote about catching the "Daycare virus 'du jour'" every time she visits her grand daughter. That's what I'm beginning to feel like. Guess I need to rebuild my immunities! From teaching many years I thought I was pretty protected from most things, but I guess not these "little bugs."
Can't wait to see them. Tho it's just been a couple of weeks, they've been very sick and I need to see for myself that they are ok. Sure hope they're sleeping well. Grandpa Mike and I can handle just about anything if they will give us a break at night time!
Looks like today will be a good day to head over White Pass which is the most direct route. There is an elk feeding station just out of Naches, WA. Hope to stop and watch the hundreds of elk who come in daily for a free meal!
George, I'm right there with you on the meds. I'm down to two prescriptions. At one time I took 5. Do NOT want to add anymore if possible.
It's just 4am. . . Need to try to get a bit more sleep before we hit the road about 8am. You all take care. I'll check in from Chehalis. . .

Not much going on with me. Just the same ole same ole.
My daughter got me to reading Heather Graham books. They are pretty good. The ones that got me hooked were the Flynn Brothers Trilogy. These are 3 books about 3 brothers. One was about a brother in New Orleans, one I think in Salem Mass and the other in Rhode Island. Kind of historical, mystery, ghostly and romance all put together. I read 2 of them in less than 3 days and the 3rd one a couple of days. The only thing about reading makes me sleepy. But I couldn't hardly put these down because I wanted to see how it ended. Guess I could have read the last few pages but that wouldn't be any fun.
Aime, I had the stomach flu and I didn't feel good for 4 days. It really got me down. And that is what most people have said. We passed it around at work.
Well, better get ready for work.
Take care
Mickey
