Good morning, family!

Im headed to bed in a minute..I had some business reports to write.  Had a great dinner last night with my dear friend, Ginette (whose husband commited suicide some weeks ago)...she is going thru difficult times, as can be expected, but she is doing okay.  We went to the Red Lobster for our annual Christmas dinner & gift exchange...too funny..we both arrived carrying huge Christmas gifts..and we both had people looking and whispering....lol....well the winter has been frought with problems for both of us.

I have to tell you what she gave me for Christmas.  Ginette wrks for Royal Doulton, and f youre familiar with that store, you will know their products are not only gorgeous but VERY pricey.  So imagine my shock when she gave me, not one, but TWO, stunning Royal Albert bone china table lamps!!  Both the pedestal and the shade are bone china with tiny cut-outs that let the light thru and the bone china literally glows when the light is on.  I had tears in my eyes and couldnt thank her enough....they are stunning!

Now I've always seen such pretty things and secretly thought how beautiful they are and how nice it would be to have one,..wow..imagine actually owning that!  But Id never indulge myself.  Well, my dear friend gifted me with someting Id never buy for myself....yes, a stunning gift...however, what's even more precious to me is the friendship that we have developed over the years.  We give each other support and encouragement and alot of laughs.  That's the BEST gift of all...FRIENDSHIP!

I have my weekly healing session in the afternoon in the Falls, then I will visit Mother before heading home.

And that's my day, here in the Banana Belt of Ontario, Canada...where it's been so cold, that the polar bears knock on the door to come inside!

Good morning Nancy and any other OFFers lurking about.

End of the week.  Easy night again.

Tonight Mary and I are going to the Stars game.  They are playing the Rangers.  I was a Rangers fan growing up, went to Madison Square Guarden several times to see them play.  Tonight will be the first time seeing them in person since 1970.

After that we may go to the gym.  If not, we will go home and I will play internet poker for an hour or so before hitting the hay.

We actually have a good Saturday planned too.  I will work in the morning.  Mary has to have her picture taken for her ID to volunteer at the Ballpark.  From there we are going to Red Hot and Blue (BBQ place).  They are having a special, ribs for two for $20.  Then, maybe a movie or the gym.  Then we may have a few friends over to play some board games.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

George  _  I thought of another author that you might enjoy.  His name is John Lescroart and he writes the same type of books as Grisham and my favourite, Scott Turow.  Although, with Lescroart, he has the same characters, a cop turned lawyer and his former partner in the police, in each of the books.  I have read several of his books - a new one is called Betrayal - and I once emailed him to tell him how much I enjoyed his work.  He emailed me right back and thanked me.  He has sold millions of his books, so I know that there are probably lots of people contacting him, so I thought that it was nice of him to respond.
I've been thinking for a while that it would be nice to have a thread someday where we discussed our favourite authors.  So many books,  so little time!

morning! nancy the lamps sound wonderful...my thought would be getting them out of the restaurant and into the car without falling on ice!!! growing up; my adopted mom had a set of royal doulton--the whole shebang....but i have never seen the lamps- treasure them...i read yesterday your story of ginette and i am very pleased to see that you had a wonderful evening together! and envious the relationship......

well- TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yesterday's 11 hours at work were LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
today will only be 9 then plasma....hopefully some dinner out-maybe mexican?

yesterday morning, one of the cleaning gals took me thru the tunnel over to the commissioner's building and gave me a tour-OMG!! it';s in the old sheriff's building /jail which was built when they moved from the building i work in now-the woodwork and detail in teh main part of the building is sooooooooooo gorgeous for being late 19th/early20th century American (vs OLD England or Canada)--then the old jail...wooo spooky but not so bad as the one around the corner from my office!! anyhow- we went over there to see the photos of the design for the new annex--wow!!!! mega bucks and really beautiful/functional! won't impact my job at all, i don't think,  except for the parking...

i was pleased to see the sun still out last nite at 6pm..the days are getting a bit longer and cannot wait til next month for daylight savings time!it got to about 18 yesterday and is there already today-going to about 30's--then tomorrow up to 40something!!!

thanks, everybody, fo rthe book discussion on yesterday's thread! george-i haven't read enough patterson or grisham to form a good opinion --just something -maybe i wasn't in the right "mood"--my taste in reading varies to the weather and the mood and the occassion.....

went to walmart after work-michael needed tooth glue and i still needed a few valentine cards -will have to go to hallmark for my dad's and really was trying to stay outta there!---and some eggs and bananas--looked over the books there-gosh i am too cheap to pay full price for a new book! probly should head to the library....anyways-they are starting to put out spring clothes...hope they are cute this year-not cutsey cute just pleasing to the eye....while i was there; i printed out the gift registry for my niece's wedding in april....i think i need to ponder the list a bit...she is up in michigan so i may order online --or go in with my mother on something....

michael appears to be feeling better-he cleaned yesterday afternoon and so today he will make another trip to my sons after his PT. i am hoping we don't have to go tomorrow again but probly will at least one trip....i will be very glad when that is done!

well-nothing really new i guess......

hugs and prayers.......

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good morning Nancy and everyone. YEA, it is Friday.
Nancy, those lamps sound beautiful and so does your friend.  I'm like Margo, I would be afraid I would drop them.
Not sure what I am doing on my birthday, other than working.   Anymore, it is just another day.
I will be going out to lunch with a few of the ladies I work with.  We are going to a Mexican restaurant down from our work.  They make a good chicken and rice taco salad.
Next Saturday, the 14th is my grandson's birthday, so we will celebrate together.  We are all going to a CoCo Key Resort in Kansas City.  They also have one in Omaha.  They have an indoor water park. I have heard it is great.  And my grandson loves water.
Well better get in there and get ready for work.  I am thinking of stopping at Wally World and picking up some cookies or something to take to work.
Take care,
Mickey

How is the new baby doing?  Do you have pictures yet?
Is the CoCo Key place really fun?  My grandson loves and I do me loves to swim.  I am going to put on my big girl panties and take the plunge (LOL)  I love the water and I figure in KS City I shouldn't run into anybody who will see me in a bathing suit.  Of course I will wear shorts over the suit. Hope they don't mind.
The ads for the place looks like it will be fun.
Take care,
Mickey

Thanks for asking . The baby is doing great, just so tiny and sweet. I will get some pictures on a CD tomorrow and then will be able to  do some grandma bragging.  I have never been to a CoCo Key  just some other water parks, but I am with you, it looks like FUN. If there is water I am loving it.  So you can go first and tell me all about it. Ilikr the fact that it is herein town so when I do get to go I can go on a week day and hopefully not parade my flappy thighs around so many people.

Morning Nancy and the gang,

Nancy, I can't imagine how beautiful those lamps must be. I'm assuming they would be for a bedroom? Are they white?  I'm  picturing something on the order of milk glass that's been cut out? Gosh, they just sound wonderful.

Not a lot going on here today. I have a very short schedule at work, only three clients, but it's better than no clients...LOL.  So, I'll head in there, then I need to finish up some birthday shopping for my guys. DS's 25th is tomorrow and Gary's is a week from Sunday. He wants a fancy new badge for his wallet so when we're out he doesn't have it on his belt for the world to see. That has to be ordered at a store for law enforcement folks which I really don't like going to. TOOOOO much testosterone there for me!  Lots of things like handcuffs, night sticks, bullet proof vests, all quite necessary for people to stay safe, just not MY type of shopping  LOL  Not enough frills, I guess.

We're one step closer to going live on our web site. Picked up more labels yesterday and when we get those bottles filled Gary will do the photos on Sunday and then Tess can get them downloaded onto the site. Hopefully we'll have at leat two of the fragrance lines there by mid week. Then, keeping my fingers crossed, the order will start coming in!

Margo, glad the long days are over!  George, enjoy your evening out.

Hugs and smoochies to all

Susan
