Gitcha kaffee and tell me what's happening in your life today?  Plans?  Fun? If ya gripe, you gotta tell me how yer gonna fix it.  Got a WOW moment?  Cold in the house but warm in yer heart?  Job going good and if yer lookin', can we help?  You just need a hug?  Support?  We're here.  How about a fantasy moment.  Lay it out this morning and let Saturday begin!!!

Good afternoon, thought I'd better post since I started it.

Started the morning making a Texas Sheet Cake...solid sugar and cocoa....but mmm, mmm, good.  I had a sliver and my tummy started to tumble... but I made it to take to $4 anyway.   It's just that I have a large jelly roll pan and it makes too much.  I now have half a pan to take to my grandkids for them to have a sugar high. Glad their parents will have to deal with it.

Left $4 early and got a pedicure...then BACK to $4... and then to Ross and Marshalls.  Can't find a size that fits me.  I need to clean out my closet anyway.  I've a huge stack of clothes on the floor in size 14's.  Most are almost new.

Now I'm home, put a roast in the slow cooker, got a box from Bariatriceating with my three containers of vitamins, worked on the kitchen a bit and will be leaving shortly to go to a new thrift store.  Maybe they'll have something that's cheap and fits me...:)

No other plans. The only men that are looking for me on e-Harmony are in their 70's and I'm in my 40's..:)  Well, okay, maybe not  but I don't think I want a 70 year old.

Boring life at this household.  Everyone have a good day.

Good morning, Janet! You are sure chipper this morning!  Good to see a friendly face.

I have had my cup of coffee and had to come upstairs to get my socks, my feet were cold.  But they say we may see 60 degrees today in Virginia.  I will want to get in an outside walk this afternoon.

I am meeting with a couple in my office at 10 who want to talk to me.  Don't really have any other plans for the day.

The Grandkids will be coming to spend the night this evening and that always livens up the place.

Hope you and everyone have a great day!

Morning Sunshine!  You're bright and shiny today, and that's a nice way to start my morning. I'm working on my second latte already. Old dog got me up much earlier than I wanted to be, but if I live to be 105 (in dog years) I hope someone gets up with me when I have to potty and want to eat!
Can't seem to get the OH system to keep my font larger, so sorry.

Anyway, today is my son's 25th birthday. How did he get to be 25 if I'm only 35? Sure don't feel old enough to have him be this age already! I've broken up my work day so we can take he and his dear wife out to lunch. He wants to go to Cantina Laredo, a new "upscale" Mexican restaurant here in LR. Of course "upscale" means  higher prices, hence lunch instead of dinner.

I finally finished all my tax paper work and found an alarming trend in my business. As of August, it's dropped in half. Scary thing when you bring in the major part of the household income. Looks like I'm having two good weeks followed by four bad ones. It's gone like that now for too long, and I wish I knew what to do about it. I ordered some cute note cards that say "Got Hair' on the front and I plan on sending them to clients I haven't seen for a while. Maybe it will help. Might even offer a % discount if they come back. Hate to grovel, but what are ya gonna do?

It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend here followed by a week of rain. No complaints there, we need it.

Ok, that's it for me. Hope everyone has a wonderful day, especially Paulette on her birthday.  Hugs to all!

Good Saturday morning to everybody!
I had a good birthday yesterday.  Loved all the birthday wishes from my great friends here.
My husband sent me flowers, my oldest daughter sent me flowers,  my grandson called me in the morning to wish me happy birthday. Got cards at work and some presents and lots of happy birthday wishes. Went to lunch with some friends from work.  It was a good day, except for that number that keeps going up every year. Yikes!  But I don't feel like I am 54.  I feel much younger.
I enjoyed just staying at home last night and doing nothing. My husband wanted to know if I wanted to go out and eat and I just wanted to stay home and enjoy an evening at home.
We are going with some friends to Leavenworth (not the prison, HA) today.  He is retired military and wants to go to the commissary and they wanted us to go with them.  I have never been to a commissary, I guess it will be interesting.  We will probably go somewhere to eat, not sure where.
We have had wonderful temps here the last few days. It was in the 60's yesterday and it will be a repeat of that today.  The only thing, I know that we have some more winter to come. BRRRRR!
This is just a tease. No wonder everybody is sick.  The other day a few of us went walking on break and me and this other lady had on our winter coats. We were shedding them before we headed back.
Well, better get going, need to take a shower and get ready for our excursion today.
Have a good weekend!
Mickey

morning sunshine!
haven't been up long-ahh the joy of sleeping in til i woke!!so glad that my long week is behind me and so grateful that i was allowed to work the hours to make up the sick time!!!

michael got the very last (i think) from my son's house and it is heaped in the garage so we will have to do some cleaning this weekend- that's ok--sposed to go up to almost 50 today-may rain tho...also he has someone sposed to come look at buying one of these extra washing machines (in my kitchen!) today so we may be forced to clear a path sooner than we want to!! but that would be a good thing to get the washer out!

speaking of "may rain" -my ankle is absolutely killing me and so the barometer must be fallen-i am in major pain and didn't "do" anything to it!!!

did my plasma donation last nite- numbers were still acceptable but not as high as on tuesday--i do not understand the constant fluctuation...and teh plasma was a teensy cloudy-i had eaten a very small potato with dinner two nites and it makes a difference!

at plasma; i started a new macomber book- i am disappointed cuz  it is NOT in order from the one i just read-it actually is way ahead so now i know what happened to the characters from the last one without the details-i may just look for something different for tuesday!

when we got home; three of the parakeets were out of their cage-so cute!! two were perched on top of Ruby's cage (hers is the huge domed one!!) and she was so good NOT to chew off their feet!! the third was on the kitchen ceiling fan....these are the three that came together the first nite-the two that came with the cage were smart enough to stay inside it!!! they are out in the living room as i type doing their morning twitter singing! i love that sound-happy budgies!

today; i plan on stimulating the  economy slightly-susan-not a salon like yours but the beauty academy in tiffin--i need my highlights done- it has been awhile since i did the frosting job and  i did it sparingly  so it really wasn't "enough"  (which was good cuz i didn't want overwhelming!!) so i am driving down there to get "done" -it will cost waaaay lower than in any salon around here and will be supervised! --- i cannot stand the look i sport right now- looks like nobody cares about her hair!!!they'll trim my ends  and i'll be a new woman!!!tho i really do not wanna be called blondie!!!!

next saturday; i am invited to a DAR luncheon at the country club in findlay and today, my regent and i have a phone date to discuss the upcoming state convention . last nite's email says vote for 4 delegates and lists 5 ppl-she was one and she gets the email back!! how the heck do ya vote intelligently?the convention is end of april and everything with the DAR is pricey-no details yet except which hotel they are at...and they plan this a year in advance!!!i do need a period costume for saturday nite and haven't sewn in absolutely years so this should be very interesting!!! we are looking at late 1850-1890's time frame so may be a very simple long skirt with frilly white blouse and one of those velvet waist cincher type belts!!!and a hat!!! i love hats and don't wear them enough!!!!

well- i'm rambling and my coffee is gone....

hugs and prayers to everyone.....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Well, it's Saturday, you are right!

My DH is feeling TONS better after his gall bladder removal, and actually talking about the lap band surgery next month.  There were a couple of days there that he was wondering WHY he would want to go through pain again!

Our grandson and his friend just stopped by for a quick breakfast of sausage and french toast and to get the Wii.  My DIL and us split the cost last year and it floats between our houses.  She bought 2 new games.

Our REFI was turned down!!!  WHY, you ask?  Because of a low credit score - NO, ours is 801.  Because of our income - NO, my DH gets 2 checks, both from the govt., both secure.  SO WHY!?!  Because my DH's name is NOT on the deed!  Bought the house 4 years ago at auction.  I was here alone, so when the sale went through my name was the only one on the deed.  Used our moving money and paid cash for it.  Then did a mortgage with BB&T to get our moving money back.  Hubby's name was supposed to be put on at that time.  It's a VA loan and I have no income, after all.  Well, it didn't happen.  Our credit union we are going through for the REFI says his name has to be on the deed for 6 mo.  This is to insure against people buying homes and 'flipping' them.  Who can flip a house in this market?  The attorney says we can do a quit claim deed on Monday and he will be added.  NOPE, NOT GOOD ENOUGH.  Policy says his name has to be on for 6 months.  So we are more than welcome to apply again then!  SOOO - we lost the $350 appraiser fee, and the $250 'good faith fee' to lock in the rate, and we will have to pay $125 for a quick claim deed!  Hooray!

BUT, we are not in dire straights. We will continue to eat.  We just wanted to consolidate mortgage and HEL (our home equity loan is at 9%).  When we first bid on this house over 4 years ago, we won the auction for $72,000.  Due to a clerical error, the auction was declared null and void, and we had to wait for the next one.  Two scheduled auction dates later, it finally happened, we won the auction AGAIN (this time for $52,000).  The bank with the 2nd had decided to write it off.  ANYWAY, because of that clerical error, we saved $20K on our house.  So we are being philosophical.  Perhaps the universe is telling us that interest rates are gonna go back down and we are better off waiting.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning to you, Janet and my other OFF family. I hope that everyone is having a great Saturday morning.

It is 45* here and the sun is shining brightly. The snow is melting but there is still a good amount of it. The balcony upstairs is dripping all over my patio. But I guess that is better than the icicles that it could be. :)

Nothing new happening here today. We are planning on going to Wal Mart to get some seat covers for Bill's car. His car gets so dirty from the coke plant dust that invades it. I told him that it would be much easier to have seat covers and be able to take them off to wash them. He agreed and so today is the day.

I can feel myself going into a great depression so the economy isn't the only one. I could feel it coming yesterday and did not much but sit here and cry most of the day. Not a drastic boo hoo but just quiet tears that at times I felt was never going to end. Now I have adjusted to things and the tears are gone (or at least I hope so) and I am getting down to business and just going on with my life as it is. Whether I like it or not isn't the question~things happen and sometimes we just have to buck up and take it for what it is~hard knocks and all~and go on with it. I am planning on changing some things and maybe I won't feel as pressured all the time. That would be a good thing. Oh well, life is what it is and sometimes it is just a big bummer!

I guess I should go. I am sitting here watching the Hallmark channel and some movie is on. Nothing else is on to watch. I miss my Lucy on the mornings every Saturday. I should boycott TV Land! They kidnapped my Lucy and I am going to re bell! Maybe I might walk across the street to the Goodwill and see what they have. Probably nothing. They never do. I might just go to Valparaiso's instead. They have better stuff and a daily special too. This one has stupid daily specials when they have them.

I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers and/or good thoughts . Remember to smile at someone~they may need it more than you know.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
