and now it's tuesday-what's new???
this morning; i did the norm of checking my emails -and in the genealogy one i found an email from a "cousin"--hopefully!! this gal shares my (birth) last name and her son found me on Findagrave.com...she also is on there and she also is in DAR!!!naturally; i replied and am hoping to hear back more from her when i get home tonite! since most of you grew up with your family i don't know if you can understand my joy and wonder at finding relatives...it's an awesome experience for me and i just cannot explain it--karen c and barb endorf can somewhat understand by doing their own genealogy but the magnitude of finding a whole family and their stories after 46 years of not knowing them--well!! i am blown away!!!! there is so much that so many take for granted when you have always known your family....
anyhow-
work today then plasma and some shopping....
hope you all have a great day-jan c my monday wasn't awful...actually went quickly at work-today will drag -tuesdays always do...
we're expecting rain and that will cause some flooding...
hugs and prayers ....................
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I can't believe I am the first one to respond.
Not much going on for me. The weather here is suppose to be in the 60's also. But then they are talking snow on Friday. Oh, well, it is still winter. We got a little rain yesterday, then the day was somewhat warm, but windy.
I am having a hard time with my eating right now. I am eating stuff, I know doggone well I shouldn't be. I thought after I had the flu and couldn't eat much that would get me going down the right path. I am starting to use food as comfort again. Hopefully, this to will pass.
Margo, that is great you are finding family. I was into geneology there for a while. My dad's family had a family tree on his mother's side. I did learn I had some Irish in me.
Well, better get ready for work.
Take care
Mickey
Margo, this is all so interesting to me. My mother's father was from Austrailia. He lived in an extremely remote area of the country where it was just like "Thorn Birds". There were 17 children in the family, and the births were all recorded on a eucalyptus tree. So, when he left there in the early 1900's he couldn't take any papers with him to prove anything about himself. He went to England during WW1, got wounded, met my nurse Grandmother and then came to the US. He could never become a citizen because he had no papers. He was also very secretive about his past and never told mom more than little snippits of his history. I'd love to know more about him, but I'm sure I never will.
Yesterday was a busy day off. Cleaned like a mad woman, worked on Saint Bella like a mad woman, and that was about it. Guess I'm just a mad woman!! Rain and thunderstorms in the forcast today. We've gotten over a 1/2 inch over night already.
Well, I guess there isn't much else to say. Going to work for nothing today, no one on the books, so I'll take my new book with me to start reading. Maybe the phone will ring.
Love and hugs to all!
Susan
Well, I should be able to use my computer tonight. Computer tech guy came to my home today (it will end up costing me about $90 for an hour of work ... about what my geek cost me last year for an hour but he kept it for three months). This guy was an older guy, retired it seemed ... I was going to have him come over on Thursday, when I had no appointments, but he said he was free this afternoon, so over he came. He was done in time for me to go to work. The only thing he didn't get done was getting my printer working. The stupid thing kept saying the ink cartridge was low (but that wasn't the problem the last time) or it was the wrong type or cartridge. So I guess I'll buy some new cartridges and hope that solves the problem. He said I had a bunch of nasties on my computer ... not as much as some people ... but about 25 malware files. So he put some freeware program to remove them in the future, plus he put the new version of my virus checker. Hope that makes everything safer now.
I'm so beat. The physical therapist worked me over today. He has me working on my balance ... which always has been crappy ... and trying to build up my quads, especially on the right leg, my bad leg. I'm so sore. I had hoped to ice and get a nap in this afternoon but with the computer tech guy coming over, I didn't.
After PT, I stopped at Starbucks, picked up a coffee (yum, Casi Cielo), learned they're closing in March ... we still have the kiosks in Meijer's and D&W, but you don't get the freebies on the cards, and you have to go into the grocery stores, not as convenient a stop. And the one Meijer only serves the House blend coffee ... yuck!
Then it was off to the psychologist to talk for an hour and try to figure out why I'm grazing ... figure this one out -- I've been at work now and not grazing as much, but I've gained 6 pounds. When I was at home and grazing constantly, I wasn't gaining an ounce. Makes no sense at all. Maybe it's muscle from all the PT. Who knows? I have been exercising more (It's that NuStepper! I'm up to 8 minutes!)
Well, another exciting day at work ... at least I still have a job. That's always a good thing.
Have a good evening.
Hi Ya'll. It's a lovely Tuesday here.
Margo. I have been 'into' genealogy for almost 10 years. I am still looking for my G G G Grandpa's beginnings. I have been to his grave. I have a copy of his death record. I have a copy of his marriage certificate. His birthplace is listed differently in 2 different places. I can't find him in either place! So frustrating!
Today I will waiting at my son's house for the Sear's man to come service their dryer. He will be there between 8 AM and 5 PM. Don't ya love 'em! Actually, part of the time my DH will be on duty, cause I have to make a quick trip to get him a light bulb for his desk lamp.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
my gal didn't write back yet-i'm disappointed!!!!
do you use a "tree" software? what do you like??i have family tree maker 2006 and i just cannot get self to type everything in--it's on ancestry and i cannot get it to the treemaker from there---
help!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I use Family Tree Maker 2006. I have 2008 and 2009, but I always go back to 2006. In 2000 we had a HUGE Waldron reunion. I published books for all of us. Of my Gr Grandfather's 100 descendants, I had pictures of 97. Of course, since then, we have grown! I also have lots of pictures of his ancestors and siblings and their families, etc.
The man I CAN'T find? Philip Waldron. Born 1803. Died 1863 in Bethlehem, CT. His death record says he was born in Fishkill, NY. Died of gastritis at the age of 60. His wife lived 25 more years. His marriage record shows he was born in CT.
There are a few family members who think our Philip is the Philip Waldron who is descended from Resolve Waldron. That Philip was born in 1767, had a twin brother and was very well documented (in Riker's, etc). I DO NOT feel this is the correct Waldron. I KNOW birth dates can be off slightly. But I DO think the attending doc and his wife would have known if my Philip was REALLY 97 when he died, instead of 60.
MAN, you should never have gotten me started on this!!! I 'put it away' for the last year, I have been so frustrated with this. I have spent hours at the LDS library, at the state library in Albany, NY, at the records office in Fishkill, NY and all kinds of county offices in CT. The man was a ghost!
Good luck with your searches. This can be very frustrating! E-mail me if you want to commiserate. Maybe we can help each other!
They are finally done with the drywall and painting...thank goodness. The paint fumes were so bad that I couldn't be here yesterday. I left windows open and came back home this morning. I can smell paint but nothing like yesterday.
I sure am enjoying these warmer temps...they snow is almost gone.....heard it will be back though....UGH!!!
Nothing much happening around here. I need to go get my grandchildrens Valentine gifts sent today. And yes George...I am working on getting that Forever Box sent out soon!
Have a good day everyone. Give someone special a big HUG!!!!
Special prayers to those in need. Linda S is at the top of the list!!
