Pony League.  Regular baseball.  The big difference between Pony League and Little League is the base distances are longer, you can lead off the base, and you can steal.  You don't have to wait for the catcher to get the ball.  Eddie is fast and steals at least one base a game.  He always leads off.  If he gets on base, the next batter takes the first pitch and Eddie is normally at third.  He rattles them so much that the ball is typically thrown away because of the jump he got and he continues on to third.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good morning, ya'll.  A lovely Tuesday here.  It was over 80 yesterday, nearly that today.

I had my Sister Study home visit this morning.  Now I will just get a questionaire to fill out annually for 10 years.  I hope all of this helps someone someday.

My DH is doing GREAT with his new band.  Gas  weight is gone so now he can concentrate on actually losing real weight.  He is still napping daily, but he did that before!  I have been sorta following his diet with him.  I really don't want to cook anything yummy smelling while he is on liquids.

Plumber came yesterday and fixed our toilet/valve problem.  Only cost $80 and we were very happy.  We now have 2 higher, low -flow toilets and we love them!

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Congratulations  to your grandson, I do believe you are beaming George. My boss is in a meeting and as it gets closer to the time she returns to the office I can feel a stress headache starting. It started driving in this morning, we have one of those nasty thin coatings of ice on the roads, and it will just keep getting colder into the afternoon and the ice keeps coming down, so no chance that it will melt by the time I am off of work. Today is the day I usually go to HyVee and develop digital pictures 10 cent Tuesdays. I made dinner for family on Sunday and got some really sweet pictures of Baby Hunter, Plus I made"presentations" to the family. My sweet step-Mom had "Memory Bears" made. A lady made Stuffed bears from my Dads last pair of overalls, pain stains and all. I cried and cried, she had one made for Me, on the bottom of the bears feet, one says Dad and the other his name, then she had one made for Hunter and a purse made for Granddaughter Faith. I have been trying to think of a way to make some $$$ and when I saw these I thought I could do that!! I have made some beautiful stuffed rabbits. This lady is in Ohio and has close to a 6 month waiting list. Being clear out in Nebraska wouldn't cut into her business at all.Hmmmmm. I took Faith shopping last evening. I should get Grandma of the year. She never finds what she wants, she exhausts me. I better run, its about time for the inquisition to start.. and I have already done a full days work. My aim is to eat SMART today !!!
Blessings

Jean,
The Memory Bears sound heart warming. Yeah, I would have been sobbing too.

Good morning, George and my other family. I hope that today is great for everyone.

It is rainy and chilly here. I know that the temperatures are in the high 40's and expected to go into the low 50's but with all the rain and dampness it seems colder than it is. I am so sick of winter and all the terrible stuff that goes with it I can't see straight.

Today is being spent at home doing stuff that I should have done before. I have a board meeting at church tonight and I have to get all the stuff together that I must report on. I have a lengthy report for Staff Parish committee and I am submitting a request for a fundraiser to start the fund for sending some kids to church camp this summer. Why do I do this to myself?!

Got my sister to her mammogram yesterday. I am so busy doing for others that I haven't even got the appointment for my own mammogram. I have blood tests, a sleep study and a 24 hour urine test to do yet. There is something drastically wrong with this picture. I need to fix this. My sister told me that she has a eye doctor appointment on Friday morning. She just expects me to take her now. I guess what really p1ssed me off about yesterday was my niece was off work and stayed home. All I could think is that it must be nice to be able to do that.

I got good news this morning. My heart doctors nurse called and said that I was cleared for the surgery. They are sending the report to Dr. Stanish and letting him know. So the stress test came back good and they are waiting for the echo. Wendy said that my chart was not there so he is still looking at it. I know that it came back good. As far as the ejection fraction number is concerned anyway. Now I am just waiting for the insurance.

I better go. I have been going on and on for way to long. I hope that everyone has a good day and I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers. Have a smile on your faces not only for others but for yourself too.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi All,
I'm just sitting here eating a piece of cheese and an apple- it's lunchtime! I have a brand new intern coming at noon so my afternoons for the next few days will be for training her. She will be watching me work with my students so that she can reinforce what I'm teaching them.  All of my lessons are revolving around "bugs" so it will be fun (it usually is in my room). I have stickbugs, ladybug larvae, and an ant farm. I want to teach her how to use these science topics to teach speech and language. If you put the time into developing the lessons the day is much more enjoyable as well as being great for lesson retention. Learning really is fun! I am sorry that my intern will be coming out of school in this economic climate. Jobs that used to be plentiful have dried up.
I'm so sorry that so many of the members of this group are suffering with unemployment too. And also Annette with the insurance thing. I guess we are getting to the point that nothing can really be taken for granted.
Time to get back to work- hang in there troops!

Julia,

Training an intern is important work. They are still full of enthusiasm and energy.

Fun makes learning interesting. I applaud the time and effort you put into teaching.
