What's New- Tuesday April 7

Hi All,
I'm up later than usual and thought I would start the thread. The little girl that has been missing from my school district was found today- in a suitcase in an irrigation pond. It is just so sad... I don't know how our world could have become so frightening. How could anyone murder a 9 year old girl? She was so happy on the security videotapes- skipping along. I feel sick. I need to go to bed and get some rest but I'm worked up. We will have children asking lots of questions tomorrow.
That's about all I can think of just now. I did start riding my bike again yesterday and I rode it again today. I'm trying to lose my last 30 lbs. to get to my first goal.
Hugs to everyone...

Good EARLY morning, Julia

I'm so saddened by the news of your little girl missing and found.  My grandson is turning 10.  My world would be beyond belief were it he.

The state of our economy and the world we live in right now is so scary.  It's hard not to dwell on it.  I'm a classic case.... up AGAIN at 1 a.m.  Found my brain wasn't turning off.  I didn't get all of my offers worked and couldn't get it off my mind... it's tough keeping up with the youngun's in the business I'm in.  I'm slower because I'm more thorough.  Red flags fly at me while they just wave in the breeze for those that don't have a clue.

I'm absolutely blown away by your bike riding.  I'm afraid to try it for fear I'd need to have the seat surgically removed.  They don't make bike seats like they used to....:)

I've seen my goal weight ONE time at 148... ONE TIME... fleeting ONE morning... but I'm back to 152-154.  Hmmm, where did I put my old bicycle??

Nothing going on here.... just working every day, birthday party for grandson this weekend.  Taxes aren't done yet.  Trying to find some summer cutes for our Thelma and Louise Out to Sea Adventure.  My last years are too big.

Everyone have a good sleep and a good Tuesday!!

Janet, I have seen you.  A goal is just a number.  You look great at the weight you are.  What's 4-5 lbs?  Just a number.

I personally sometimes dread the idea of going to a grandkids birthday party until I get there and see the joy on their faces, lots of times just because Grandma and Grandpa are there.   It makes it all worthwhile.  Enjoy.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Janet,

You can buy special seats - almost the size of a tractor seat. Good idea, maybe I should dig out my bike too.

Check out your local bike shop. They actually make some great new bike seats. My new one is very comfortable, wide enough it can't get stuck anywhere LOL and it has gel inserts!!! Very comfortable.

Good morning Julia and all you other OFFers!!!

It's been a wonderful day in the neighborhood.  Took in the game today with my 2 oldest grandsons, my son, my best friend and his family, a friend from work, and a dear friend who lost her husband in the last year (Susie).  I met Susie through a discussion board about 10 years ago.  She lives in Abilene (about 3 hours away).  We met for the first time out at the Ballpark about 5 years ago or so.  So today, I asked her and her son (adult) to join me at the game, my treat.  And we had a ticket for Red (her late husband).  We know he was there.

It was cold, but that was the only down side of the day.  The Rangers looked great.  The Indians didn't.  Saw some great defense.  Michael Young looks like he has been a third baseman all his life.

After going home for a little bit, went to Bible Study.  Then to work for 4 hours.  Later..

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

julia...what a nice surprise to have you start the thread..tho, i am saddened to know why you were still awake....i'm asking for strength to surround all of you today as you face those kids and their questions.....

my big news is that michael came home from hospital yesterday! everything seems to have 'worked out" from the ng tube's suction...thank goodness...we will have a follow up with our pcp next week tho.

we've been invited to my son's for Easter-can't hardly turn that down!

nothing else really...hugs and prayers.....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
