What's New- Tuesday April 7
I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. That poor sweet little girl and her family. I have a 10 year old grandson and also could just not imagine how I would survive something happening like that. My heart goes out to all of you.
Good luck on your bike riding. Not something I like to do. Like Janet said the seats are killers plus I am wobbly on a bike. Never really had a bike when I was a kid and never built up that strength in my legs to ride one, so unless I am on a level surface, I wouldn't get too far. Ha!
Not much going on with me, have still been going to PT for my bursitis in the hip. Not sure if it is getting better. It really doesn't hurt until I lay down to sleep and if I go up steps (which I haven't been doing since they said not to for a while)
I am hoping we had our last cold spell this past weekend. Where is spring?
Well better get going and get ready for work.
Take care
Mickey
Julia, this is a very sad commentary on our society now. I'm so sorry for all of the folks in your area who are trying to make sense out of something beyond understanding. How do you explain such a thing to children? My, oh my.
it's my Monday and I don't want to get moving. Would much rather hang out at home, but once I get moving at to work I'm always happier there with my friends. I'm so lucky to have great people to work with and wonderful, friendly and happy clients. Well, except for the one I fired the other day...LOL
Well.....I'm off. Hope you all have a wonderful, healthy and happy day. Love ya!
Susan
Good morning ya'll.
Julia - I agree, what has our society come to? Is it the economy, the lack of jail space, have people become too 'hardened'? Whatever it is, I cry for the children!
It is gonna be 25 degrees cooler today than it was yesterday with a freeze tonight. I'll be covering my tomatoes.
My Mommy is back in the hospital! Pneumonia this time. She just got out a week ago! I read an article that 1 in 5 Medicare patients are back in the hospital within a month of discharge. My Daddy went through that in his last year of life. I hope this is not a 'sign' of how her next year is gonna be!
Last week our son had a 'stomach flu' and had a miserable day and a half. Luckily, he has a job where he can 'run' when he needs to. Yesterday, our DIL was home all day with the same thing (she spent most of that time here). She is a SpEd aide and can NOT just take off for the bathroom when she feels the need. Plus she does a lot of bending and lifting that could be disasterous. She went to work today, but she called to say our grandson was having 'rumblings' this morning. He went to school, but I expect we will be seeing him soon. He drives, so I won't need to go pick him up, but I'm sure he'll come here for TLC, rather than go home. My DH and I are holding our breath when they are near!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
What a terrible end and I feel horribly for her poor family, the world we live in today is definitely a scary place, perhaps it always was, it's just that today we hear about it all too quickly. . . I will pray for her family and all those who are affected by it, including you, dear Julia.
Janet, thoroughness is a good thing and probably will help you in the long run, so I hope you can get some sleep, that's the one thing that has not been affected in me, I am sleeping ok when I go to sleep, it's just that I still go to sleep early and wake early (most nights b/4 10 and up by 4:15/30), though I do sometimes manage to go back to sleep for a little while, or the other thing is lie in bed petting my dear old boy Dillinger, who loves having me home as a lap pillow for him when I stay still long enough. . .
So George, the Mets won their first game of the season, let's hope that they do us proud this year, I want revenge against the Phillies (lol). . .
Anyway, I am in a better mood as I woke up to sun, though it's still quite cold outside, I'll take the sunshine, even though there were some ugly clouds to the northwest, I've already submitted my resume to 4 postings and that about covers things for what I saw today. So when I get off this computer in a little while, I will go back to spackling, sanding and possibly painting the new bedroom, so that I can once and for all move into it. . .
I hope everyone has a good day!
Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

GM Julia, I'm so sad to hear about the outcome of little Sandra Cantu. She was a very pretty little girl. Prayers go out to her family this morning and to all the children in your school district. On a lighter note, I am still lovin ya, Julia, for hooking me up with the Sleepmate. I've brought it with me to my son's house in Indianapolis. It fits perfectly in my suitcase and did not attract attention at airport security. Thank you! Tonight I will be flying back home to Denver after a long stay with my son's family here in Indy. It's been fun to be with my grands (some pics already posted on Facebook) but after 12 days I'm ready to be home. However, I did lose 5 lbs while here. I've roller skated (which I will continue to do when I get home), roller bladed, and of course walked and rode my bicycle (I always do these two at home). So, today is packing up and moving out...........Love and big hugs to all of you (prayers requested for a safe flight tonight).

Hey there Karen, These are wonderful little compact sound machines, white noise. I used to always sleep with a fan for noise, not anymore. Julia told me about this and it's wonderful. Here's the link, good luck.

Good morning Julia and everyone......
Julia my heart breaks for that litle girl, her family, you and the entire community. Why people do these horrible things to children I just can't grasp. My prayers are coming your way!
I am soooo thirsty....I haven't been able to drink anything since midnite as I have fasting labs at 10:00 AM. Only about one hour to go!!!
Tomorrow is Kyleigh's (granddaughter) 17th birthday, Saturday is her sister Amanda's 15th birthday. The 23rd is Nic's (grandson) 16th birthday....woooo...just like Christmas this month!!! Then there are the Easter gifts I am sending out today to all five of the granchildren.
Love those grands.....wouldn't change a thing!!
My thoughts and prayers are with Linda S today...she sure is struggling with that falling. I hope they can find help for her soon.I am looking into buying her a case of bubble wrap..heehee!!!
I hope everyone can find some happiness in this troubled world. Share a smile with a stranger today.
Prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all.....connie d
