Weight and Skin
Hi Charlene,
I had RNY (10/2007) at age 56 and lost 100+ very quickly because I was in a lot of pain needing a hip replacement and wanting to get my weight as low as possilbe before that surgery. Last summer I was going through menopause and living in So. California I couldn't stand wearing long sleeve shirts and hated my arms with the very loose skin. I envied chubby people with tight skin. I attended my mother's 65 class reunion and I met her friends and some of these people had better looking arms at 82 then I did at 56. That's when I decided that I had 1/3 of my life left and didn't want that extra skin any longer and decided to look into plastics.
Now, 18 months since my RNY I've had an upper body lift (arms, breasts, neck/lower face) in 11/08 and in March 09 I had a lower body lift. I can tell you that it was the best thing I've ever done. I look amazing -- in clothes and out! I'm going with my mom and sister to Las Vegas this weekend to celebrate my mom's 83 birthday and have never felt so wonderful accomplishing so much in such a short period. 18 months ago I was an obese woman headed for a wheel chair and total I'm living life to the fullest. My husband calls me his "TW" - short for "Trophy Wife"! Life is good and my pain and suffering and even the money I paid is all very worth it and would do it again in a second.
Please let me know if you have other questions about plastics. There's also another place on this site devoted to this and that's a good place to learn a lot!
