ok i know you all wont like this
I just read this post, and let me apologize for offending anyone with my talk of blessings and prayers, I am not religious, I just live my faith and have for forty years. It is as natural as breathing to me. However, since it offends so many on this forum,,I have read the other posts complaining about it as well, I will seek my support elsewhere. I can no more NOT speak of prayer, or divine help, than I can breathe.
Also, I am from Indiana, yet I havent posted on the Indiana board for a long time. Not because of any conflict there, just because I sought the over fifty support that I needed here. I have met several of the Indiana posters and they are great people.
I am so sorry that this has turned into a battle ground instead of a support group. When people become friends, as we all were, they share everything from family crises to recipes, and accept each other for who they are and enjoy the diversity.

"For I know the plans I have for you ," declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Betsy,
I think you have now misunderstood. No one is telling you to not post your faith... I think everyone has now stated their opinion and agreed to disagree about some things. Religion and politics are strange bedfellows but it can be accomplished.
Don't go away when everyone has expressed an opinion. We are all welcome here. And we're trying to work through this as adults and not throw flames at each other or be offended.
No reason not to keep on keep'in on. Why? Because we are all needed on here for the diversity that we bring.
Me? I bring terribly wicked humor that's sometimes misunderstood.
Like now..... It's sad to go to an atheist funeral. The deceased is all dressed up and no place to go.

Hi Jacki,
I'm just back from being away for three days. My, what I have missed. I was perusing the past posts and saw yours. I just knew it would be a thought provoking thread. When I first joined the OFF I noticed that there were a lot of very religious people. Then I said to myself, well, we're all over fifty and on our way to our final destination. I think we're just looking toward the future. I think you handled this very well, and I don't think any of the replies were nasty in any way. I think all of us being adults realize that we don't all believe in the same thing. Take what you need and leave the rest is an excellent plan.
We're always here to listen, no matter what you have to say, and you've always been very kind to me and I appreciate you.

I do not particularly like the idea of keeping this thread alive, and it has nothing to do with the original post. But I have decided to answer what you posted Linda Kay.
I believe that my faith in Jesus Christ has been a key to my success. He does not put his hand over my mouth, but He does put thoughts in my head. Sometimes I do eat that ill advised food. And sometimes He makes me pay for it.
But that is my belief. And I am not here to shove it down anyones throat. Just mine.
