What do you do when you are blue?
I've been through it Michelle. Not fun. But if it is something you have to do, turn it over to God. Take a deep breath. Me, after doing that, I turn on a baseball game.
I know if you are going through bankruptcy, you have exhausted all options. So just roll with the punches. Don't let the situation beat you while you are down. Things will get better.

Michelle:
I have been in Chapter 13 bankruptcy since June 2005 and will be out of it by the end of the year. It has been a long haul. It is really a difficult decision to make.
In the past, I used to eat when I was blue. Now, I cry, I talk to someone, I pet my cats, I cry ... I cry a lot. Sometimes it's just nice to cry and get it out of you. I talk on the phone to get it out in the open. Plus, I still go to my psychologist because she listens objectively and doesn't judge (or at least I don't think she does!). I used to love to go swimming because I always felt better after swimming ... it would clear my head and all the endorphins would rise up to make me feel better. Watch a funny movie. Do something you enjoy.
If I were there with you, I'd give you a big hug. I have no one here to hug me when I'm feeling bad ... but I know how good it feels to get one, and sometimes that's the best thing you can do.
So here's a cyberhug
... you are not alone. Lots of people have gone through this, are going through this. You will make it through this. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Hi Michelle,
I very sorry to hear you are going through bankruptcy proceedings. Perhaps the attorney will have advice for you and information that will help you understand your situation and give you at least a little peace. I always find when I see the big picture it isn't sooo bad. And, for me anyway, its better to know exactly what I'm facing, then I can make good decisions based on knowledge. You need to vent. Oh my goodness, I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't under the cir****tances.
I'm with George. The first thing I do is lay it down at the foot of the cross. It's too big for me to change, and God is the only one I know big enough to handle the problems. The hard thing is leaving it there and not picking it up again.
As far as making yourselves feel better, well, here's my list. Call and old friend you haven't talked to in a long time, one that you care about a great deal. Do something silly like go bowling, especially if you don't know how, that looks pretty silly and is tons of fun. Realize you are still together, will get through this, and be stronger for it. It won't be easy, but you have each other, and still have a future. Don't lose sight of that.
Finally, another thing you have is a great OFF family that will always be ready when you need to vent. I'm with whoever told you that you needed a huge hug, well, catch this one I'm sending your way, its enormous!! I will include you in my prayers and ask God to give you some peace amid a very uncomfortable situation.
Blessings to you!

Hi,I have to sign over papers to stop a foreclosure on a time share I owned with my ex to stop a foreclosure,it is a big money lost.
I also had to sell my home at a penance, just when the market started going bad,as I was alone and could not carry it.
I am not good at making myself feel better but I am learning, the people on OFF help a lot,and you can vent anytime you want.
I like old movies that put me in a different place and time.
I do not know if you have grands, but hanging with them really helps, seeing things through their simple eyes...smile.
Work helped, but now I am home with many medical problems,so I am gonna check out the senior citizens center,I figure some bingo, and what ever they do will take me outside of myself and my troubles.
This is hard, our world is hard right now. I am also working word puzzles, anything that takes me away for awhile. I also crochet.
God Bless you.

Michekke...sounds like you are going through a rough time. I would be blue too!
When I am blue I like to take a walk....inside lately because of bad weather. I also like to read and listen to my country tunes...gets me going again!!
The biggest help is coming on here and chatting with all my wonderful OFF friends. This is the best therapy around. They are the greatest bunch of peole anywhere!!!
Hugs....connie d

You know, when I'm blue I just go sit in a park or a field or something. I look around in amazement and think of how all this stuff (flowers, trees, ants etc.) got here and live their lives. I love nature and it really makes me feel peaceful as I listen to the wind blowing through the trees and long grass. Take a deep breath and know you've done all you can do, and now you're taking the next step toward recovery.
