OT: i'm home and sick

ok- first-carla- i was able to check in on marie's laptop-mine never came outta the bag--we had time in the early am cuz we got up so friggin early to get coffee  and showered etc- 4 women 1 bathroom....nuff said

and there were breaks between sessions- to change clothes!

this morning i had pancakes for breakfast-don't do it often but sounded good-with ricotta-which i love! didn't have the strawberries cuz they were in a syrup (=sugar!=dump!!) --s-o--had sf syrup . didn't eat all of them but enough to satisfy my want...
went into the conference session and promptly got sooo sick-bad thing was even after 45 minutes in the loo i could NOT vomit...
laid my head down on a couch in the lobby (cuz ya know we had already checked out!!!0 -and missed the memorial services....about 2 hours later i felt civil enough to sit up....

so ok-then we get loaded into the car and we are driving home-i'm driving-missed my turn not once but twice--and i KNOW this route!!!!

anyhow- dropped off our regent (who IS a back seat driver and was ticking both of us off terribly about some other stuff-could NOT WAIT to get her home ( i know; someday i will be an old woman....i hope!)-got marie home and then self...the dogs really missed me-even more than michael did....

spent a few hours in the couch (cuz ac not in our bedroom yet) and am now getting ready to go back out there...michael did put the ac in here (computer room) about an hour ago-too durned hot to breathe and he's sitting here with the door shut ...

overall-i really DID NOT have a great time at the conference-some wonderful conversations with table mates but about "other" topics-- too much hoity toity and pomp and cir****tance...and too many of these women have too friggin much money  compared to some of us (ME) normal everyday folk....this weekend's experience made me question whether or not i even wish to stay active in my own chapter....not a good feeling for a new vice regent!!!!

the photographer was wonderful-food was actually pretty good tho way over priced but that was how they got their money to pay speakers etc cuz the conference was only $7.00 ! vendors sucked...

anyhow- i'm home and i am glad-tho i am glad i got to go---dunno that i will do it again--OFF GTG's are sure one heckofalot more fun!!!!!

Hi "M"....Glad to hear you made it home safe and sound.  Sorry that you did not have as good a time as maybe you anticipated.
Perhaps next time will be alot "funner" for you.
I love reading your posts and feel you and I are alot alike.....I'm not at all "Hoity Toity" either and like down to earth people.  At my age I don't have time for alot of "FO FO FO" or pretentious women.  I'm who I am and what you see is what you get.  haha

Happy you are home Margo, unfortunate you became ill.  I know how you feel about conferences, I professional conference attendee lol, and its the same irregardless of what the organization is.  I've been known to stay in my room for some sessions....don't tell okay? 

Nothing like a dog kiss or three to help you feel back to the real world.

Margo...sorry to hear the conference wasn't what you had hoped for....then you got sick to boot!! Not a good time.

Can't say as I blame you for not wanting to continue with it any longer....if you really decide not to.....sounded boring to me!!

Bummer.. Well at least you know now. You have put so much time and energy in your home chaoter I just know they wouls be lost with out you. Hope your feelingbetter fast !! Love ya.( still want to see pictures)
