My inquiring mind wants to know

I had lap rny nearly 5 years ago and was in pain for awhile, but
they give you good meds (PCA pump in the hospital, then other
meds once you're off the pump and at home). I had more pain
from my knee surgeries than this. There is gas pain, of course,
but not too bad. I can relate to, I think it was Jacki, who talked
about the loose bowels ... I had diarrhea too, but used Benefiber
to bulk me up after surgery. But then I have IBS and often had
that problem pre-op and my doctor told me not to use Immodium
ever again post-op, so I didn't.

I think the biggest thing is the fatigue factor post-op for a couple
of weeks. It is surgery and you will be very tired ... plus your body
is adjusting to the lack of food. I took off 3 weeks for surgery
and was still tired when I went back (plus I was off caffeine
so I had nothing to "perk" me up for the early-morning 5 a.m."
grind I had to go through). Also, I got hit with a sledgehammer
of migraine headaches post-op ... maybe the hormone****ting
me, don't know. But I had a whole mess of them. Went back to
work one week and had to take a day off it was so bad.
