Ohhhhhhhh my achin' tailbone!
I have lost over 150 pounds and what little is left of my rear is saggy and my tailbone is very prominent and hurts so bad when I sit. Is this an issue with anyone else? I pad my chairs at home but don't have that luxury else where. Short of plastic surgery (which I can't afford) is there anything that may help? It is very painful. I have bones stickin' out all over!!! But the tailbone is the only one causing me pain.
haha .. it's truly a real pain in the behind huh??? OH MY! Barbara I have gotten too skinny for my large frame. I am eating and have been teetering at the 140 pound mark for weeks now. I wish I could push what is left of my abdomen around to back!!! haha
I guess I will have to carry an inflatable whoopie cushion with me. That would go nicely with my cane huh???

And to think, I could've gotten you a whoopee cushion at the community yard sale a couple weeks ago ... cheap! They couldn't give it away!
Yeah, I feel your pain, literally. I have enough left in my panni to pad my rump too. Yesterday at the bone density scan, the tech had me hold my panni off to the side so she could scan my hip bone ... the panni was in the way.
Although this won't help the lack of cushioning on the tush, some people have noticed a difference by visiting the chiropractor ... it gets you in alignment after losing all that weight. If you don't go yet, you might want to consider it.

This is really tender Eileen. Very ouchy. The bones are sticking out!!! I sit on 2 thick pillows on a cushy recliner and it still hurts! The chiropractor suggestion is a good one. Unfortunately we all get that darn saggy skin.
My "panni" is not hanging down ... just all wrinkly and gross. My hips are down to 38" now. I am tall and very large framed bone structure so at 140 I am really skinny. I guess I am lucky that I just ended up wrinkly and saggy which happens as we age anyway (darn it). Maybe a cortisone shot in the tailbone?

The shot isn't a bad idea. I go to a pain clinic for shots every three months because I have degenerative disc disease and spinal arthritis. I get shots in my lumbar region. You can check out a pain clinic in your area and see if that's an option. They're expensive, however ... I have decent insurance, fortunately.
I'm sitting here squirming to get comfortable cause my tailbone is hurting.
Have you considered going to a massage therapist? I go periodically and she massages the muscles around my lower back and it makes a difference on my tailbone. After losing the weight we have it's not only the skin that sags. There is lots of little blood vessels, nerves, tendons and muscles that need to adjust now that the fat is gone. The fat was imbedded in us and clung to our innards and now they too are just "hanging" around. lol
