What's new Thursday?

Hi my OFF Family:

It's payday, that's what's new ... nothing new for a Thursday,
but at least my deposit's in the bank, so I'm solvent for a few
days.

Bad day at work, ticked off at our reporters for writing too
long, and on a day when the business desk was told we
didn't have much room ... they still turned in a 27-inch column,
an 18-inch story from our Muskegon paper (that was longer,
cut down) and a 16-inch story ... oh, and a 10-inch story.
Then I was told to expect another story. By 9 p.m., I had shoehorned everything I could in, and had to shove that
story back to the local side because there was no room.
I told them there wouldn't be. I'm not a miracle worker. I can't
make inches magically appear when there aren't any.
I basically had a page and a quarter to put all that in ...
it doesn't work. They don't get it.

On top of that, my IBS was acting up ... no details, just that
I wasn't feeling well when I got home. Better now, nothing a
little peppermint tea and purring from the cats couldn't cure.
I love newspapers and I love what I do, I just get so aggravated.
I guess I understand how my sports editor must have felt when
I got wordy often ... I was going to say sometimes, but I know
I was often wordy. But I had to cut my own stories to fit.

But at least the White Sox won, so they took 2 of 3 from
the Mariners, so I'm happy there. Now on to Texas (sorry,
George, have to root against you).

Well, chat away ... good to see Brenda home, hope she can
rest comfortably and without too much pain. No playing taxi
for anyone, Brenda, it's your time to sit back and let them
nurse you!

Have a good day.

Sorry you had such a bad day!  Glad to hear you are feeling better.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Good morning Eileen et al!

Went out to the Ballpark last night.  Got a couple of autographs (McCarthy and Harrison) and then sat around for about one and a half hours.  Still looking crappy outside, so we left.  About an hour later they postponed the game.  Oh well, at least I did not miss anything.  Except for the female sports reporter sliding on the tarp.

Mary and I will be out there Friday and Saturday.  Friday is Fireworks Friday (every Friday home game they have fireworks after the game).  What it means for me is get out of there easily.  We leave right after the game, no traffic because most of the people stay for the fireworks.  Saturday is Nolan Ryan statue giveaway.  Taking Eddie, Alex and Brad.

Eileen, your Sox better watch out.  This team is finally heating up.  Playing well.  Not giving up when they are behind.  We've won 4 out of the last 5 games.  We are doing well, in spite of no Josh Hamilton for the last 2 days.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

The Sox' pitching has been good, hitting has been pretty cold,
so maybe by getting into the Texas heat (it is warm there, isn't
it ... at least warmer than up here) maybe they'll heat up a bit. Man, the other day they had 2 hits in one game (and won) and
six in the other and lost.

I think the Sox are down to their center fielder No. 3, the one
they sent back to the minors. Nos. 1 and 2 are on the DL.

The Rangers are without Josh still.  Not sure when he will be back, they are hoping for Saturday.  If he is not back by then, they need to put him on the disabled list.

It has been warm here.  But rainy.  But it is supposed to be 85 at game time tomorrow.  Guess I will wear shorts to the Ballpark.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Enjoy the game.  Make new friends.  That is what a baseball park is for.

Good Morning, All

Yes, I'm up too.  Not really happy about it.  But instead of lying awake, I thought I'd do something productive.  I'm here!

Got an email from my partner in crime.  Seems like Dallas is gearing up for the swine flu deal.  Schools are closed for a week or so.  Now I'm concerned that HoustonGalveston may not be far behind.  The little getaway cruise may need to be postponed.  I'm checking to see if I can get alternate time off, and Janet, our own personal travel agent, is doing some more information gathering.  I'd hate to give up on next week, but sometimes we need to be more careful.  Even if we don't stop in Mexico, I'm sure some of the crew has been there recently.  Who knows what we'll be walking into?

We've been looking forward to this for months, and seeing TerryT and Linda Barnett is just a bonus..

Poop!!

Well, time to try to get some sleep.  I have my 3 year post-WLS surgeon's visit this morning.  Actual anniversary date is May 8.  I'm up about 8 lbs.  from my goal, 12 from my lowest weight.  I'm not happy.  Still maintaining over a 100# loss, but I'm getting close to going below that.  My labs are all perfect, though.  Now I have to de-carb again and catch the gain before it gets any bigger.  That was my plan to start again right after the cruise.  If we reschedule for June, I won't wait that long to start the process (again!)  It just creeps up on a girl, you know?  If I don't get going now, it'll be worse when I do.

Poop again!

Gonna try to get some more sleep.  Everyone have a great day.

Julia

I just found out that Carnival cancelled our cruise altogether.  Bummer.  Not sure what we're going to do at this point, rebook in June or head off in a different direction.

Yes, SF is beautiful.  I WILL be back!
