judy-doesn't this aunt have a drug amd/or alcohol issue?
i would be more worried about her staying straight --jmho--- she needs your help if you are able- she needs positives....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hello everyone,

It's another rainy day here.  I slept in today, which is rare for me, but it felt sooo good.  I sold my Wurlitzer piano to the first person who looked at it.  It really is a very nice piano.  I upgraded to a Yamaha, which I got the super deal on - otherwise, I would have kept the Wurlitzer.  They will be here at 2:30 to pick it up.  Well, that's all the news here for me.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Aloha adorable "RED!" You are too much........., and I had to add my two cents with you beginning the thread.

Unbelievable that your $4 is closing! Is there another one not too far away? It always reminded me of "Cheers" when you talked about the $4 crowd.

It's 6:15 in the morning Sat. here....and the sun is popping up. It's going to be a marvelous Maui morning!! I have a HUGE basket full of laundry to do so that will be my challenge this morning. Having been sick a few days makes things pile up even in my tiny little home.

My friend who I took to the airport last week for her flight over to Honolulu for surgery is NOT doing terribly good. She had WLS four years ago, and has had three surgeries since to correct intestinal problems. This time her surgeon (mine too) thought it would be a simple repair and only take a half hour but it turned into a 2.5 hour surgery where they found many kinks, twists and holes in her intestine. He had a lot of repairing to do, and she is in big time pain she said. I don't know why some people have so many complications and challenges after WLS and others of us sail through with little or no problems. I feel very sorry for her. Also, her husband died about six months ago.....at 60......from a sudden stroke. Life just sucks sometimes!!

I have a medical question, but I think I'll post separately about that. In the meantime....I hope you all have a good Saturday and that we have some WOW moments soon. I'm needing a WOW post...there is just too much bad news lately.

With so much aloha,

Maui Karen

Hi Janet and my OFF family:

It's sunny here finally. I slept til 11 when the phone rang and woke me up ... didn't answer and I'm glad I didn't ... just an "unknown number" that didn't leave a message. I thought maybe it might be Carla calling from the road.

I stayed up til 4 a.m. watching the DVR of the White Sox-Rangers game (Sox won, 4-3 ... came from behind to win with a bases-clearing double by Jim Thome to tie, almost a grand slam homer, then a two-out single and a triple to win). Then I read for an hour in bed ... "Angels and Demons" ... really good book, can't wait for the movie.

Speaking of movies ... my movie, or the one I was in as an extra, now called "The Chaos Experiment" is premiering in Grand Rapids next Tuesday, Cinco de Mayo. I wasn't invited to the GR premiere for cast and crew ... couldn't go anyway because I have to work, but I hope to go next week sometime and try to see if I'm in it at all. Our movie critic says it's a pretty good film. It was called "The Steam Experiment" when they were filming here.

No rest for me today, just another fun day at work in sports. Big event today, the River Run. The sports guy who took the buyout is coming back tonight to produce the special edition (thank God I won't have to do that!). So I figure I'll have my two little wire pages again, it's all they trust me with.

Janet, they're closing the $4 near me, too, and they just opened it a couple years ago. It's closing after Mother's Day. We have some in the Meijer's and D&W grocery stores, so I won't be without, but you don't get the free syrup when you use your Starbucks cards there. It's sad to hear they're closing the one we visited ... like an old friend passing on.

Well, I should do something ... don't know what, don't feel like much. Have a good day.
