What's new Sunday?

Good morning all!!!

Did not do much yesterday.  Went to work.  Then picked up Mary from a garage sale at my daughter's house.   She made about $100 or so.  Gave part of the money to our son.  Times are tough for him, but the sun is shining on the horizon.

He lost his job 2 weeks ago.  He has been looking very hard for work.  And he feels nothing is beneath him.  He said God knocked him down to wake him up.  He started his own business, detailing cars.  He goes to you.  He did two cars Friday.  While out, one of the guys whose car he cleaned said he was looking for a worker he can count on.  My son asked what it entailed.  It is in the freight business.  What my son has done for 10 years.  He was management.  He told the guy he wants to start at the bottom.  The guy said the job only pays $15 an hour and is guaranteed 40 hours a week.  Possible overtime.  Brad got his email address and sent him his resume.  The guy told him he would call back at 5PM.  No call.  Brad was a little down about it.  Then, yesterday afternoon.  Saturday.  At 1PM, the guy calls and asks Brad to come in Monday at 1PM to talk.  I hope that is a really good sign that he took the time out on his Saturday to call Brad.

So much for that.  Then, last night we went to the Ballpark.  Pouring rain, but it was Nolan Ryan statue giveaway.  So, we took Eddie, got our statues and hung out for an hour.  Still pouring.  Went home.  The game started an hour late.  There were three rain delays during the game.  But the Rangers won 9-6.  They are playing decent ball right now.  Tonight will be a tough one.  John Danks pitching for the ChiSox.  Hopefully Harrison found something last time out.  He retired something like 14 in a row.

Sorry for the book.  I just babble sometimes.

Hope everyone has a great day.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I haven't posted lately because this has been one hell of a week.  Excuse my bluntness.  My first wish is that next week flows better than the last.

Tuesday found me in court again for a credit card debt that is not mine, but my rat bast*** ex-husband's.  He took out several credit cards in my name, spent the money on the trollop, ran them up to limit, and of course, didn't pay a thing on them!  As part of the divorce we had to mortgage the house to pay the debt (in the vicinity of $150,000).  And then he let the house fall into foreclosure twice before it was sold.  I lost my house of 30 years because of the divorce. The court is having a hard time understanding that this debt is NOT MINE.  Next court date will be in 30 days.

Also on Tuesday, the lady I work for part time was taken to the hospital, but not without a fight.  I had tried calling her all afternoon on Tuesday and she wouldn't answer the phone.  Finally, she answered after she managed to work her way across the kitchen floor to knock the phone to the floor.  She had fallen earlier in the day and couldn't get back into her wheelchair.

To make a long story short, the scenario played out with police, fire truck, ambulance, and just like in the movies, smashing through the front door to gain entry.  No one had a key to her house.

About an hour later they took her out kicking (well, not so much kicking) and screaming.  Lots of screaming.  She didn't want to go.  This lady is nuts, and I mean that.

She has a thing about germs, but has the most disgusting house I have ever seen.  Once something drops on the floor, it stays there and she won't let me clean it.  There is not one inch of space on the table, counter tops, stove or on the floor within three feet of the walls.  When I bring groceries home I have to balance then on top of layers of trash and stuff on the counters.  I can't begin to describe the bathroom, every time I think about it, it makes my skin crawl.  Like Monk, she won't let anyone touch her hands.  Bleach, she has a thing about bleach.  I buy it by the case for her.  Every load of laundry is done in bleach.  She dumps it down the toilet.  She soaks her dishes in it.  She has a baggie taped to the back bedroom door handle because someone touched it with germ-laden hands and she hasn't "had time to organize a plan to clean the handle" (with bleach). Too many other things to tend to, she says.

Once the carpenter came to fix the broken door and I could safely leave the house, I went to see her at the hospital and stayed until 2 am when I told her I simply had to go.  I've been back every day since.

She's going to sue the hospital, and the paramedics who took her out of her house, and the city for, well, just because.  She was an attorney and thinks that everyone should do as she says so they don't get sued.  For years she's always talked of suing people, but can never hold her thoughts together long enough to follow through with any of it.

They tried kicking her out the hospital.  Said nothing was wrong with her and she claims there is.  Security was called to her room and left once she threatened a lawsuit in circuit court.  The doctors told her the hospital is not a hotel.  She didn't want to go to the hospital in the first place because she insisted nothing was broken, and now she doesn't want to come home because she insists that something IS broken.

So what does she talk to me about when I visit?  Dandelions in the front yard, calling a tree doctor for a tree on her property, and organizing a plan for cleaning the rotten food out of her refrigerator.  I told her I can handle rotten food just fine, but she insists that a plan is needed to determine the process of identifying which food is spoiled.  I am flabbergasted.

Sorry this is so long.  I just had to get it out somehow.

Beautiful day here in SE Michigan!  Hope it is for you, too.

Elaine
All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press
on to your destination.

Good Morning Eileen and everyone....

I just have a few minutes to do a quick check in with everyone.

Eileen ...I am sorry for your money problems. Seems like we are all hurting right now.Things are tough all over and are going to get a lot worse before it gets better! Hope you can get something worked out with the condo association.

Linda S....glad you liked the HUGS I sent you!!

Karen C....you are an angel...Nic loves the VW book!! Jamie and Gracie love the aprons!! Grace wouldn't take hers off even to go grocery shopping!!!! Jamie sent me a pic on my phone of Gracie at the grocery store in that apron...she was walking along so proud....sooooo cute!!!! Thank you...thank you....thank you!!

Nic is not going to Memphis on Monday as planned. He will be put back on a waiting list. Nic has been going to the Heart Connection Cancer Camp for years. It means everything to him!!! If he goes to Memphis now it means he will miss that camp. My daughter and her husband layed it all out on the line for Nic and left the decision up to him as whether he will go for treatments now and miss cam*****t.Nic wants to go to that camp and he is going as always. He knows the cancer can come back and show up anywhere but he is taking his chances. The waiting list will put him behind a month or two for treatments.Nic is always soooooo positive!! He has always done everything everyone has asked of him without any complaints. He wants this time and he will get it. He will have to miss the other camp that is in Wyoming. Nic is willing to give that one up but needs to go to this one in June. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers....once again!!

I best get going....I have rambled on enough. Have a wonderful day everyone!! Prayers to those in need.

Love and many hugs to all.....connie d

Good Morning, All

I'm sitting here looking for reasons to continue sitting here.  I have lots to do outside, temps are in the low 60's, and I have to get moving.

I don't wanna!

I just got off the phone with Delta Airlines.  They won't waive the rebooking fee for the flight I had to cancell because our little cruise was cancelled.  So AGAIN I have a credit with Delta that I'm not sure when I'll use.  That's what started this whole cruise thing in the first place.  Looks like I may just have to go visit Thelma, for no reason at all!  I seldom use Delta, as it doesn't usually go where I want to go.  But it does go to Texas!

Outside work is calling.  I'll be fine once I get moving.  It's just the getting moving that's the problem.

This week I get to return some of the things I bought for the cruise.  Yay!!!  Shopping!!!!!

Everyone have a great day!

Good Morning Eileen and Friends,

It's nice here today. We had spring showers yesterday which was good as I had planted several containers of flowers that needed a gentle shower.

Today Mike and I are hunting for the perfect tree to put in the front yard. Actually need two trees but I'll be lucky if we can decide on one. They have to be pretty good sized to start with so will be a bit pricey. I think a weeping cherry for one. The other: I'd like something that doesn't get too tall, but will branch out and provide nice shade. Don't want a mess either. Suggestions? At our other house we had a 40 yr old birch that I absolutely loved, but it had health issues! Want something that can withstand the wind up here and grow straight and strong.

Cindy, the stresses you are dealing with are so hard. I'm so glad that both moms are close and being physically taken care of. You can only do so much. My friend here said she finally had to back off a bit. Like you she was spending hours just "sitting" with her mom. Now she has a set schedule and says it seems to have helped them both. You HAVE to take care of yourself too.

Connie, So happy to hear Nic's book arrived. And good for him deciding to go to camp! Quality of life is the bottom line. This young man has to be mature beyond his years. Gracie's apron was a "unique" one for sure. For other inquiring minds who want to know: Connie's daughter, Jamie, loves vintage aprons. I found two identical ones at a sale. I "converted" one to a smaller size for Jamie's daughter Gracie. I tried to "Nip and Tuck" it without cutting it so that Jamie can let it down for her as she gets bigger. Hopefully Gracie won't realize that it is a bit awkward looking! I'm hoping that as long as it looks like Mom's it will be fine.

Eileen, I'm sorry to hear of your struggles. Hang in there. Does the condo association realize that you are doing all that you can? Are you managing to at least make a small payment to them monthly? I don't know if any of the debt reduction places can hel*****t. I assume you've written letters, etc. Wish I had a solution for you. I don't but want you to know that I'm thinking about you.

I'm thinking I need to get a Medic Alert bracelet also. With the traveling I do, often alone, I should not rely on being able to "tell" someone my medical needs. Think I'll order one with the standard info on it.

Carla, sounds like you're really having one heck of a road trip. Long ways from Florida my dear! Take care and have a great time. So happy you're getting to visit with some OFF friends along the way.

Candy! Delta flies right into our little airport here at Pasco, WA just across the Columbia River from me. My home is open to you anytime. We'd love to show you Washington state. Weather is getting nicer daily and from now through the end of October should be mostly sunny and warm, warm, and warmer!

I'll close. I don't post often anymore. Not sure why. Lots of stuff to do in the yard and any spare days find us heading west to the pull of the twins! You all take care.

#$%&*@@@!!!!@#? Does that answer your question? Trying to upload a new avatar and as usual having problems. My file is too big or so it says. My camera is a 6 pixel whatever that means and I have a hard time sizing photos. You may or may not "see" me for a while. I'll keep working on it and then probably yell for Jan S. in desperation!

Thanks George. I'll give it a go. With my original digital which was about a 1 pixel it was no problem!
