It's Tuesday, Cinco De Mayo. Que Pasa? (What's going on)

Happy Cinco de Mayo to you, too, George (and everyone else)!

                                  Cinco Dancer

Another day of the same for me, another afternoon of helping "The Lady."  Yesterday she told me that she needed one more day of being sick and then the next day she'd be able to resume her work load which, frankly, is nothing.

She told me she got swine flu from being in the hospital and a sinus infection from getting a chill in the ambulance on the way home and then yesterday, a fungal infection from who knows where.

I had to open two cans of tuna for her because she's not strong enough to run the electric can opener. I made a dangerous mistake by wiping the tuna stuck to the lid into the bowl and therefore had to dump the whole lot because metal shavings from the lid may have fallen into tuna and she wasn't strong enough to pick through it looking for them.

At least I got her to laugh a few times yesterday, something I don't think she's done in a long time.

...trying to be brave and not walk away from $12 an hour, cash

I'm very sorry to hear about your husband, Paula.  Every time something like that happens my heart sinks.  I'm praying that something will appear on the horizon very soon for you.

peace and love to you all, Elaine

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press
on to your destination.

Almost noon here so I won't say Good Morning. How wonderful George that your son got that job !  And Paula I am so sorry about what you are going through, it is a very scary time. My grand-daughter ( faith) got a job yesterday being nanny for my program director for the summer, I am not sure who is more excited, Faith, my director or her kids. Faith so impressed my director, she came into my office today just bragging on how well their interview went, she said Faith came in prepared, with questions and suggestions on what she could do with the children this summer, she said she has had interviews with adults here in our program that weren't that good I was so proud of her and she is only 15.. Then I could strangle her. She wasn't prepared for ME. I told her I would pay for her American Legion Auxilliary Jr. camp, I knew she had 2 other camps for the summer and told her to make sure there were not any conflicts. After I had sent in her application and the $$ she tells me she has another camp the same week.. grrrrrrrrr.
I spent 4 hours in the yard yesterday planting planting planting. Then I came in and dried and bottled up chives. I was eating some as I worked and woke up this morning with the strongest taste of chives in my mouth. Good thing I sleep alone I am sure the morning breath was not fun. I put in 2 more Lavender plants last night, That brings me up to 6. Faith wanted to know what the heck I was doing with 12 pounds of Epson salts. I will be making Lavender bath soak and Rosemary Lemon bath soak.. Hmmmmmmm, can't wait.  I really have the hungrys today, I don't like this feeling. I just ate some yogurt with granola in it and that helped. will have to have some good solid protein this afternoon, maybe some hard boiled eggs. Blessings

Hello everybody. Home for lunch. Just made a protein shake but I have some cottage cheese to eat when I get back to work

Happy for your son George. I know it's a terrible worry when you don't have a job.

Karen - is it good or bad that we still, in our minds, think we're 40ish?  I think it takes a while for our minds to catch up to where our bodies really are. I'm sure we're all experiencing the same thing with friends becoming ill and having age related maladies. I know I stll don't see that 60 year old in the mirror and I wonder why the boy at the movie theater automatically offers me the senior discount! He didn't even bother to ask for my ID.  The nerve!
