question for all my friends here at OH

I was told today that I have to have a cat scan on my bladder (because of repeated bladder infections) so they want me to drink barium two bottles one at night and one before test. I had my surgery Feb 23 2009, do you think its ok to drink that stuff????

Tell them you had RNY and just have a pouch. I had a CAT scan awhile back and made sure to tell the techs that before I had it, and I had to drink less than that. You'll still have to drink some, but it will be half as much (and considering how soon after your surgery it is, maybe not even that).

I did tell her today when I went to pick up the drinks and she said its ok. But I did put a call into my surgeon, because I am nervous.

gail; my thought would be that if they merely want it to "coat' it will work but you won't be able to hold it in....i am hoping someone can answer better for you....
do they know about your bypass?
