we are planning on it..........

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I have a four plug electrical outlet IN my appliance garage.  I usually leave my toaster plugged in and just slide it out when I need to use it.  She probably didn't need to have it moved afterall.
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

good morning, cindy and OFF!

a few of you commented yesterday about myhair in my new avatar-thanks for the compliments-my hair is even shorter now as i am trying to get rid of the blonde- i am thinking there is about 3 more haircuts worth - so mabe about 2-3 more months before it is back to natural margo --so it will remain super short thru the summer..then who knows!

we got our lawnmower back yesterday-michael got most of the front (big yard) cut and the belt broke- again--it's a nuisance! but i think he has it fixed for the next time--next will be the back but it started raining and was time to pick me up...

yes-rain--just a kindof fine rain but we are sposed to get the harder stuff today i think -maybe even boomers to go with it....very foggy outside this am.

i forgot to tell you about our poor car- michael was at lowe's on monday and some schlep dented the right front fender and left a white line on it--we have a black cherry rondo so no pinstripes-but now we have one on the right side! arrrgggghhhhhhh.....he thinks he may be able to get up inside and fix it but dang it all.....it's so discouraging to make a hefty car payment on damaged goods!!! the booboo he created backing into the tree last winter when unsticking the car from snow and the marks from taking something down off the top of the car this spring-a heavy entertainment center) --well- it's discouraging!

our passports came yesterday!!! whoooooo hoooooooooooo that's a major hurdle in the time line of our panama trip cuz we were looking at another few weeks possibly and we leave in 3 weeks....made me nervous!!!! the new passports are beautiful inside-much nice artwork and quotes on the pages...

the trustees of the DAR voted to evict the caretaker and cease his contract-so we are having an atty do it all legally-the guy thinks he's dealing with a buncha whiteharired ol ladies ( well someof the gals are-tho the sweetest!!!!) and he has them over a barrel sortof--we are worried about what he could possibly do to the house before he would move out- we have many antiques in there...hence the legal action also-cya dontchaknow!  so it was not a pleasant afternoon's mtg.

today is work and i might go tanning- i have never tanned indoors before but i want a teensy head start on panama so i don't burn awfully! i'm getting very excited about the trip tho i need to focus on the trip with my mom first!!! need to get my cemetery/genealogy  stuff in order for that- btw where is barb e??haven't seen her around in a bit!

oh cindy-to answer your question- mother's day- i am sending cards to my mom and grandma and i am paying fo rthe trip with mom in a few weeks- the motel for the "cemetery tour" and the flowers for about 30 graves--i'll call her - we talk a few times a week- i have no clue what if anything my kids will do- usually a card from 2 of the 3 - and my son often calls last minute to set up lunch or dinner- would actually just like to work in the yard this weekend....

mom doesn't know yet about the panama trip or the possibility of moving there so it may be our last cemetery tour together----

well- i slept in a bit today so i need to get scooting--and i got windy here-sorry!!! i love talking with all y'all !!!

hugs and prayers

Hi all,

Today is the National Day of prayer and we have a noon event at the town square.  I also have knitting club.  Today is arrends and such.

No Mother's Day plans.  Mine is no longer alive and I am only a stepmom with four kids who are not all that close to me.  So, I will cheer other mom's.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

morning cindy and OFF

well still no news on what my sister found out...she wouldn't answer her phone last night when i called!!!! GRRRRRRR so now i have to call her tonight after i get out of work. sighs....

weather here is chilly and foggy this morning. calling for some storms today...bet i am inside when it happens and i will miss it again....i love storms!!! no not the damaging kind just the thunder and lightening....

i only watch american idol of out of the ones you mentioned cindy...i am thinking adam will win but then there just might be an upset....never know.

as for mothers day...i am guessing i will be working 8-430 sunday and then come home for dinner. i haven't heard from my kids in years and far as i know they have no idea where i am living. i sent my mom a card for mothers day, got ricks mom a card and a necklace and earring set. i got some perfume for my mom but she will have to wait til i see her in june to get it. costs to much to mail it out....no extra money for that right now. she said to wait anyhow so i will.

floyd so good to see you posting again!!! was wondering how you were doing!! kitchen sounds like its gonna be nice!!!

talked to diane yesterday...she was about in tears...the place she has her cafe at they had a major layoff and it happened right before lunch!!! she had made breaded pork chops and other things and nobody there to buy it from her!!! they were told at 11:45 they had 10 minutes to get out!!! and almost all of them were the ones that came into her cafe to buy lunch...she only made $10.00!!!! i didn't know what to say except OMG!!!

on a brighter note...ricks boss called him and asked if he would come in and do a few things...guess work is starting to come back in so maybe he will be back to work full time again soon!!! i sure hope so!!! i hate all this worrying over how i am going to pay the bills!!!!

finally found hairnets so i can wear that instead of the hat!!! my head gets so dang hot at this time of year makes me feel hot and miserable working food court with the ovens going full blast!!! hope the hairnet helps keep me cooler!!!

thats about it for me today...know that i think of everyone and all their joys and sorrows...welcome and congrats to those i missed!!! (this pc is so slow i can't answer all posts like i want to!!!)

have a good day...and remember to SMILE!!!!! ; )

hugs

Good Morning Cindy and Friends.

We're going to take it a bit easier today. The past two days saw a lot accomplished in the yard. We moved granite rocks, terraced a side yard, laid down weed preventive material, and spread pea gravel over a large section of side yard. Also planted a lilac bush, and replanted a small (ready that tiny!) weeping cherry and a *****willow. Hope they survive as I've had to move them two times already.

Today is Mike's 60th birthday. I'm an "old lady" for two months exactly before his birthday so it's always nice for him to catch up! The years don't bother me in numbers. I'm grateful for each one that I get. I feel younger than my years these day. Unfortunately Mike does not. He's had a spinal fusion and has nerve damage that has caused painful neuropathy in his feet and legs.

We're both so sore we can hardly move and the wind is blowing too hard  to use the hot tub.

We've going out for breakfast and then getting him a new barbecue for his birthday. Anyone know anything about "Brinkman" barbecues? They sell them at Home Depot and they are so much less expensive than the others.

No special Mother's Day plans. Perhaps a picnic if it's nice. Phone calls from the kids mean as much to me as anything. We both hate crowded restaurants and not crazy about dressing up so we tend to skip the brunch "shows" on special days. Will go by the cemetery and weed the miniature roses that Mom planted by their markers. What does one use to clean markers? Theirs needs a good cleaning. The birds like to perch on it and the irrigation water is leaving marks. Vinegar perhaps??

Sending you all best wishes and special thoughts.

hi karen....unless the BRINKMAN is ALL STAINLESS STEEL forget it...the WEBER is well worth the money you spend on it!! the burners are stainless and also covered for NO flare up while cooking foods. might want to check it out more...if i was to spend money on a nice grill it would be the WEBER (three burner not one or two). good luck!!

hugs
