What's New Thursday?
Morning Cindy and my OFF family,
It's a day off for me, just some errands, housework and some Saint Bella-ness going on here. We're finally getting a day of sun, but it is supposed to be 90 degrees, and with all the rain we've had it's going to be a sauna! Think I'd rather have the rain. NOT.
There's more rain on it's way, so if I get really motivated I might get out and mow the lawn. Gary's concerned because it's getting long and scruffy looking, but heck, so is everyone elses'.
Well, off to get the color on my hair. Unlike Margo, I'm not willing to see what my natural color is. God love ya Margo....it's a long, not too pretty road. Maybe someday, when I don't color hair for a living, I'll let mine grow out. Nah, who am I kidding? My color formula is in my will with my final instructions LOL!!!!

Good morning to you, Cindy and my OFF family. Hopes that you all have a wonderful day today are coming from Portage to all.
I go to the doctor this morning. I took my shower and I am all ready to go. All I have to do is put on my clothes. That would help......of that I am sure. My appointment is in 2 hours so I have plenty of time. I am feeling better today but it usually is later in the day that I start having the pain. I will find out about it when I talk to doctor. My belly button is still draining and has a terrible odor. I know.....tmi......but I wondered what that smell was and found out what it was this morning. HMMM......wonder if that is the pain I am having. I do have to remember that I did have hernia surgery too...I have a tendency to forget that since the tummy tuck is most of what I see.
Other than the doctor there is nothing much going on here. When we get back Bill will be leaving for work so it goes back to the same old stuff. I am hoping that I will be able to start driving again. We shall see.
Misty is sound to sleep on the back of the couch.....and Bill is sound to sleep in bed so all is quiet here. I have Good Morning America on and they just interviewed Gayle King for the Oprah interview with the Elizabeth Edwards. I wanted to see it but since I am not going to able to see the whole thing I am going to watch it tonight just after 11. They rerun the days Oprah and I like that when I miss something that I really want to see.
It is suppose to be a nice day today.......it is already 59* so it just might be. I know that yesterday was so nice...had my windows open until later on during the night. I love having the windows open...it feels like spring and summer to me if they are open. The only thing I miss is the quiet....we live right on the corner of one of the most busiest corners in the city of Portage.
I better get going. I have gone on and on for more than enough time. I am sending love and hugs to all along with prayers. I hope that everyone remembers to smile pretty today to bring happiness in to others lives as well as more happiness in our own.

Hi Brenda and all:
I haven't posted much on here in a while.....just been reading the posts and not saying anything.
Brenda, I have a question about your tummy tuck --- what did your insurance require in order to pay for it?? My surgeon told me that my PCP needs to document when I have sores, etc., in order for Medicare to pay for it.....problem is, I have few if any sores...sometimes just some redness that goes away with medicated powder.
I am glad you are doing so good since your surgery....been meaning to call you and will do that soon.
Our public meeting for my support group was Monday nite with my surgeon, Dr. Kemmeter as our speaker.....had a nice turnout and it was great seeing him and getting to talk to him. Posted a picture of he and I on my facebook page.
Lots going on in my life right now - all good.
Best wishes to all,
Pat R.

Done! Your Ticker:
I don'****ch Apprentice, and I can not stomach Joan Rivers. Chuck was body guard to Mellisa Rivers for a while and says they are wonderful people. Joan hosted a bridal show here in Omaha a while back and she was delightful. So who is the real person? B*tch or delight? My show is THE BIGGEST LOSER, finale is next week I am so excited. I think I want Tara to win because I think the other lady sacrificed her daughter to get where she is, but I don't have a full blown favorite like I have in the past.
I didn't do yard work or planting yesterday so today I am so sore I am almost in tears. I went shopping for a new out door table. I usually buy those cheep plastic ones and have to replace them every other year. I get a stimulas check this month so decided to get a better one. I found an awesome large stone one that made me drool and is very affordable, BUT..always, a but. I have to move my lawn furniture out of the way every week for the yard service and this one is so heavy I can't move it,,darn. That why I usualy get the cheep plastic ones. There is a lovely hexaon one by Martha Stewart that the more I think about the more I like, it is on sale this week. Only problem is I will have to rent a truck to get it home, I don't know anyone with a truck. Well Chuck but he is too !@%^& busy. Legion tonight. Don't know about Mothers day. I always have to make plans for all our family get to gethers, and as much as I love them for once I just don't want to do all the work so I am sitting back and seeing what happens. Have a Blessed day

Aloha OFF family.......Cindy, so nice to see you starting the thread. Since I grew up in Oregon, I can vividly imagine the storm and high winds you are experiencing. I used to LOVE to go to the beach (lived in Portland area) during a storm and get a room with a fireplace right on the sand. Then I would stock up on clam chowder, crusty french bread and a bottle of good wine and watch Mother Nature in action. I miss those days.
We are having about our fifth day of VOG which is smoke blowing over from the Big Island's erupting volcano. The trade winds usually keep that blowing the other way...away from Maui...but right now it looks like London fog outside, and I'm sure not good for the lungs to breathe that air!
I went to a WLS support group meeting the other night and found out that Kaiser is no longer covering any plastic surgery after weight loss! Many were so disappointed, and I don't blame them. I feel so lucky that I got mine done for free before this happened. Now I'M even more grateful.
Mother's day will be very quiet here with my kids in Oregon and California. Probably a call from them.
Lately, I've noticed that I'm eating much differently from how I used to. I'm having a lot of carbs in cereal, bagels and whole wheat sliced bread in my sandwiches. For at least two years I had NO bread at all...and now it's back in my life regularly. I am crazy nuts about Safeway's power bagels...the ones that are long and flat. I LOVE them toasted with Promise spread and honey. Yum!! Since my weight seems to be staying the same, I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing I guess. I try to remember to get in lots of protein, but sure don't follow the rules like I used to. I do drink with my meals, etc. If I have a hint of weight gain in excess of a few lbs....I will go back to the basics. What I really need to do is exercise. Can't seem to get my buh-tocks in gear to walk on the beach every morning like I used to. Sigh.
So......here's a big welcome to the many newcomers, and a hug for the old timers who are so faithful about coming in and sharing their lives. I love my time with you all even if it's only reading and not commenting.

Hello Cindy and OFF friends,
I seem to be on track with food today - YAY me - lol - I just made some SF/FF strawberry jello, and have a chicken baking in the oven.
I had a wonderful group meeting yesterday at the clinical weight loss center, the best one yet. We had a health educator there and I had a very indepth conversation with her. I took so many positive thoughts and feelings away with me after the meeting. I'm half-way there now, month 3 down for 6-month weight loss requirement. I figure in another 4 months, I'll be joining everyone on the Loser's Bench - wherever that is - lol - is there a special forum/place or is it a term used after you've had surgery?
Happy Thursday everyone!
Blessings,
Debbie

Debbie, the Loser's Bench is just a imaginary bench that we sit on once we have our surgery-what ever kind it is we chose. Once we get another one on the bench we make sure our spot is dusted and nice and neat for our new bench sitter.
It is just a special place that we have and we share with our other losers-and it is good losers this time!
We can't wait to have you join us on the bench-we will dust and clean so there is room for your little bee hind to sit with us and chat!
