What's New Wednesday?
Hello my OFF family:
I can't believe no one's started the thread yet. I just got done watching the White Sox-Cleveland game (I DVR'd it) and came in here to see if the thread was started. I figured Carla would started it again, but nooooo!
Well, the Sox won 7-4, so I'm happy. The end of a long day. Carla, Brenda and Nan left here a little before 4 p.m. and then I had to hustle and get ready for work. As they were getting ready to leave, I got to meet my other neighbor, Sandy (I had met her husband, Dallas, when they were moving in). She seems very nice. We talked a bit about WLS and I told her we four had had the surgery ... she knows Dr. Baker (who heads the bariatric center here in GR). I told her if she has any questions to just ask. She seems very nice.
Not much else happening here. I need to go to the chiropractor today and pick up a few things at the store, pick up a prescription, etc. Sox play at noon, so I'll be watching that before I go to work.
It was good see my sistahs, but I'm beat. Nan made these really good dark chocolate bon bons with Splenda ... oh yum! I have to get the recipe from her. I think my mom would like them and she could have them because they're made with splenda.
Well, chat on ... have a good day!

Good Morning everyone,
It's sunny and warm in Southern California, and I've got a lot to do today. I had to go out of town to help my mom so I'm a little behind here. Now, that's funny to blame something else, because I'm always a little behind. lol Haven't been to the gym since last week and feeling it. Did get the sleep study, lab work, cardiologist all out of the way Friday-Sunday. Sleep test is weird....I really don't like that CPAP mask. Today is an ultrasound of my thyroid, suspected mass, but to date every test is negative, so I'd be shocked if one were to turn up something. I'll get plenty of exercise today hauling laundry to the garage and grooming the dogs. Oh, the strawberries are ripe here and on my goodness they are delicious. Made a great salad -fresh strawberries and some boysenberries straight from the farm stand. I'm getting very excited about upcoming appt. with the surgeon. The 22nd we are going to talk surgery dates. Oh my go**** finally got here. Well, have a great day everyone.

Walking with you on this journey, Mary
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I too haven't been to the gym in a while. I need to get back at it. Your journey sounds alot like mine, except I didn't need another sleep study as I had one years ago and had only mild apnea. I had to go for two mammograms and see a cardiologist after my stress test (increased rx)
I should be getting my surgery date this Friday. Be sure I'll be posting the date. I've been eating a lot of California strawberries lately. Nothing yet here in Michigan, still too cold.
Well, my exercise today will probably consist of walking to the grocery store, walking the dogs and grooming them.

Well after NCIS was over I got so sleepy that I had to go to bed. Now here it is 2:27 a.m. and I have been up for an hour. Man I hate that! It seems to happen alot lately. I will be awake until about 4 or 5 and then when it is time for my DH to get up I will be crawling back in bed.
I had a really interesting day yesterday in I had an appointment with a new doctor here where I moved to. This is a new doctor for me and so I got the address and went on Yahoo maps to get directions. I left about a half hour early because it looked simple. Well Let me tell you it was anything but simple. Being that I haven't been here long I do not know anyway to get places if you have to go away but the way it is on the directions from Yahoo maps. So I go down the way it says and low and behold road construction. So I go down another way to get to the main road and go past the one that I was supposed to get on. There are 3 roads here that are close in number. State road 45, 46, and 48. Well all roads have more than one name getting to those state roads. I don't know what the planners were thinking! Obviously they weren't. The road that has construction on it is first Winslow road, then it is Country Club Road, then it is Tapp Road. They are all the same road so think how confusing it is for someone used to one road one name thing. I was all over the place because 45 also becomes 46. Anyway to make a long story short I was supposed to be at the office at 3 so I could fill out paper work and see the doc at 3:30. Well I finally made it at 3;35 and was so pissed off that I could not see straight. They said that I could meet the doctor but she would not even take my blood pressure since I was so late. Well my blood pressure would have been off the charts anyway so I just re-scheduled! Oh boy what a fun time I was 45 minutes finding that place! Yahoo maps sent me so far and then it just quit I guess as I know I went another 15 minutes from where it stopped. Now I know how to get there so by the time my appointment is now it should be no big deal and I can get there on time!
Now today is another meeting with a neurologist that I saw on Monday. He wants to do a nerve conductivity test on me. I have restless leg syndrome and have since I was 17. He said he didn't think I had it that it is just neuropathy. I know I have RLS and he is giving me this test for no reason except to get the money from our insurance. Or at least that is what I think! Boy all the red tape!
Well enough negative stuff! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and nice Mothers day! Hope this week goes very smoothly for all!

Oh, the nerve conductivity test is so much fun! They zap your
feet. zzzzzz!
Yeah, I don't know how many times MapQuest sent me the
wrong way ... unfortunately, can't afford a GPS. AAA TripTiks
once forget to mark road construction (and they're supposed to!)
and my brother and I spent more than a half hour wandering
East St. Louis trying to get back to St. Louis because of it.

Good morning Eileen and all you other OFFers.
Eileen, I have to tell you about my experience at the Ballpark tonight. I took Brad's 3 kids to babysit them while waiting for their mom to get off of work. So we got there at 4:30 (when the gates open for season ticket holders). We immediately went to right field and just sat in the first row watching batting practice. Brandon McCarthy walks over with 3 baseballs in his hand and tosses them up to me for the kids. They didn't even ask for them! He has moved up in my book.
A little while later, Alex yelled hi to Kevin Millwood. Kevin waved. Alex says "Can I have a ball?" Kevin said in a little bit. About 10 minutes later he comes over with a ball for Alex and a ball for Eryn. I ask him to sign them, he says no problem. So they both have autographed baseballs from Kevin Millwood. About 20 minutes later, Padilla tosses a couple of balls up to them. We left with 8 baseballs, plus Alex gave one to another kid who was trying to get one.
Then, to top my day off, Josh is back and he hit one out. So did my favorite Ranger, Chris (Crush) Davis. So, since the Angels lost, my First Place Texas Rangers are a game and a half ahead of the Angels.
