HIJACK:  Hey girl, how are the whales?  On our way back from Kansas, I had to pull off the side of the road to let my grandson pee, one of many stops for his four-year=old bladder emptying and we were so lucky because while he was standing there, we heard something and both looked at the same time and a doe and her baby were standing in the bushes, they were watching us but were not running, and the baby was nursing.  I shhhhed my grandson and tried to get my phone to get a picture, but the doe was too nervous, so we packed it up and left.  We don't have whales, but we have a ****load of other wildlife. Hubby and I are thinking of coming your way either at Christmas or this spring.  I've got a savings started that is our, get out of dodge fund. LOL

Aloha Jeannie.......Oh, I love the story of the doe and her baby. Animals do that to me....make me humble and appreciative to be alive.

Our whales are almost all gone for the season...and we miss them greatly. However, when I think of them swimming toward Alaska, that moves me, too. How in the world do they make that round trip every year...even the babies!!

Your trip with your grandbabies blew me away. I would NOT have the strength to do that. My patience is shot.....and my life is so filled with peacefulness and serenity that constant chaos puts me into orbit...Ha! Maybe it's because I'm getting old....ya think??

Aloha nui loa,

Karen,

I find myself thinking am I losing my mind by even attempting this trip, but I do it and I manage.  For me, it's the unexpected that scares me, like having to sit in a tire place with the baby and the boy.  And the carrying the baby on the hip, my purse on my shoulder, holding the boy's hand, and all the while, thinking how much my back hurts. LOL  But, we do what we must.  I do better when my hubby is with me, but he has been so sick that long trips are not possible for him.  Next time, I'm making him go.  He can always just sit in the car with them or push the stroller. LOL.  Life is grand after losing all this weight. I'd never attempt it before wls.

I, too, love nature and look for it. My hubby always says that I see the animals long before anyone else and it's cause I truly look for the deer or turtles or racoons or beavers.  I just wish they would pose for pictures.

Hi Brenda and my OFF family:

I thought about starting the thread last night but then there was lightning and thunder, and my power went off (briefly), so I
thought it was best to stay off the computer. Watched a little baseball and went to bed.

Checked my payroll deposit and now have to get ready to go downtown for lunch with my boss. He had heart surgery a few weeks ago, and the whole copy desk crew is meeting him for lunch. Can't wait to see him. I miss him ... he's so organized.
He's such a good guy, too. I've wanted to call or get over to see him, but you don't know how many visitors someone would want after surgery like that. So I was excited to hear about this lunch
get-together. Plus, I hardly ever get to see all my coworkers.

Picked up my books from the Press book sale ... 22! Big haul!
I did the math ... 22 books for $57.75, so about $2.62 apiece or
something like that. Math is not my strong suit. Got some for me,
some for mom for her birthday/mother's day presents, some for
my brother and sister-inlaw and some for my grandnephews. I
am set for presents for Christmas/birthdays.

Well, I need to get dressed and get going. Have a good day.

I think we had storms last night. It seems wet this morning but once I am asleep a train could crash in my front yard and I wouldn't hear it. I bought a load of plants and planted them last evening. Found a heirloom tomato called Mr. Stripy, now how could I pass that up? Also planted a Stevia plant. The grandkids LOVE it, I hope the poor thing gets a chance to grow, my grandson kept saying "where is that sugar plant grandma"? cant wait to make a big jar of Green  sun tea, and put some peppermint leaves and Stevia leaves in it. Couple more Rosemay plants and 3 replacement roses and I should be done, except for loads of red mulch and boarder bricks.
Darn I am going to miss survivior tonight, I have a 3 days ladies conferance starting tonight. Been having some trouble the last couple of days keeping food down. Ok in the morning but afternoons and evenings, ewwwww. I didnt know a person could barf so many times on one mini bag of popcorn. Have a deeelightful day

that barfing doesn't sound good...........not another bowel kink issue?????
i read about some heirloom tomoatoes-
"mortgage lifter" and "kellogg's breakfast"--i like the names!!!!
also "Sun Sugar  or Sun Gold" are both cherry tomatoes....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I did see the Morgage lifter..made me laugh too. But I think it was a really big one, some of the tomatoes were  up to 2 pounds each, I like smaller ones that sit in my hand, the big ones always seem to get all wrinkled. No more barfing, and there wasnt any pain. I had eaten things that don't like me..rice..chicken breast. and if there are a lot of hulls in the popcorn. As gross as it sounds, I have the best luck if I chee chew chew my popcorn and then spit out what is left in my mouth.
