JoAnn,your menu sounds yummy, well balanced. I think it a good idea to sip slowly on the protein as no one seems to know how much protein our body uses at one time.
Kudos to you!

one tired dudette here!
linda...my eldest granddaughter is going to be 12  on memorial day- she has the capability of being heavier than she is due to her mother's examples and the foods she has to choose from at home- when children are gifted-should i say bribed sometimes-with foods- "be a good girl and i'll give you a cookie or i'll buy you candy" ..."finish your dinner so you can have (calorie and sugar laden gooey)dessert"...you get the pic!!! adults have strange ways of thinking that their own food problems won't rub off on children...moms and grammas alike are guilty! some want eating partners --
some feel that food =love---it's how we were brought up....and the chubby baby healthy baby thing--oh how wrong the past generations were!!!!
well- i def send prayers for your niece to find the strength to gain control of her eating...my amber plays soccer- she isn't great at it but she loves it and so she gets the exercise from it....

my eating-well-let's say i'm not gaining!!!

breakfast was 2 hardboiled eggs- then it was downhill all day!!!!

hugs to you,special sista!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

My lovely Margo, thank you for understanding. My grands have reaped the benefits of their mothers and my WLS.and they do not even miss the sweet, gooey, fatty stuff.
We are trying to raise a wiser, healthier batch of beings. I keep rotisserie chicken in the fridge, makes me smile when they ask for chicken for a snack! The lemon pepper one is the fav around here.
I will pray for you Margo. We are all kindred spirits when it comes to this journey.
If you are going downhill,at least you are in motion.and aware. Awareness is everything. I show my grands my hanging skin,I tell them I do not want this for them,I let them know that even with WLS,your body will never be as some one who never was fat. I liken it to a balloon blown up balloon that never gets its original shape back.
God bless you Margo, and a huge hug, sweet sister..

Got a little down time at work and catching up on some posts - will certainly keep your niece in my prayers.  My heart goes out to her.  I think we all know how miserable life can be when we're overweight, especially for someone so young.
