OT: Great News!

My days of unemployment are very short now, as I have found a job, not only found a job, but it is in Wilmington, DE about 45 minutes to an hour commute time, which for someone who commuted almost 5 hours a day for the last 6 years, is going to be like a piece of heaven and they are paying me a salary I can live on too!

God, as I understand It, is great, as are all of you for your support and prayers during this extremely difficult time.

Today is the 1st morning in the last 10 weeks that I did not have to look at a classified/job posting ad and could delete all the many websites that have to do with finding work! Woo hoo!

I start work on May 26!

I hear ya. That is the one thing I told my son. Don't just throw your resume on Monster.com and say okay, I am looking for a job.

He was unemployed for 2 weeks when he found his job.

Gosh Laureen, I'm so happy for you! From what I understand from folks here that are out of work, 10 weeks is a relatively short time before finding a job. Of course, it seems like an eternity to the one looking, but you're so fortunate!

Now you can relax the next couple of weeks at home.

I am grateful that my being unemployed only lasted 11 weeks in total, but it did seem like an eternity because my severance packaged ends next week and then the realities of unemployment would have created a situation that might have cost me everything I worked so hard for all my life, but that has been averted and I will enjoy my last 11 days at home and go shopping for a new work wardrobe ;)
